- The Toronto Blue Jays are still in the middle of their all-star weekend, so we decided to continue our mid-season rankings and draft analysis during this episode. The Blue Jays went pitcher-heavy this draft, taking four pitchers in the first six rounds of the draft. Johnny King was a pick we liked for the Toronto Blue Jays on day two, as well as grabbing catcher Aaron Parker for a middle-round power-bat for this prospect system. It was a good idea for this team draft a lot of pitchers, as this bullpen has debatable been the worst bullpen in all of baseball this season. With underperforming players, injuries, and unforeseen circumstances, this bullpen has been a mess since the start of the season. In this episode, we break down day 2 of the MLB draft and its implications on the future of the Toronto Blue Jays, as well as some updates from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the all-star game. In the second half, we go over the struggles of the bullpen, analyzing what went wrong, and giving out letter grades for their performances in 2024.

I'm not knowledgeable enough about every other MLB team to say with conviction that the Blue Jays have the worst bullpen in baseball (Colorado and Chicago Whitesox may be worse), but what I do know is that the following pitchers have been/were disappointing performance-wise: Nate Pearson, Tim Mayza, Jordan Romano, Bowden Francis, Erik Swanson.
The Rockies bullpen is horrendous, but it’s tough to be as successful team when the teams bullpen can be in the conversation of worst bullpen in the league and people don’t call you crazy
You could sign Bauer he said he'd be willing to come out of the pen!
Bauers main value is as a 200IP starter.. if a team is gonna take the pr hit signing him they’re gonna use him to start.
They can use him to start too with maNoah gone!
If the Jays are going to do this then lets go all in on a trade. BLOCK BUSTER that would shake the whole sport and be remembered for a long time. The Mariners are the only team to target for this type of trade in my opinion. This sounds crazy but if you did this you are the a contender for 5 years with the other trades yo make this year focused on pitching prospects and international signing money. I put in Bassitt as this give the Mariners a 2 year window. There would be a shit load of BC people going to watch these games and buying merchandise.

@@scottcarter6623 yep he was exaggerating, there have been more 3 run saves and 2 run saved turned into 1 run save from Romano this year
Vlad Jr. seems to be developing into an above-average major leaguer who will likely have a solid 15-year career. However, based on his current trajectory, I don't think he'll end up in the Hall of Fame. Additionally, he'll probably experience physical decline by the time he's 36, similar to his father.
Yea it’ll definitely be interesting to look back through the years when it’s all said and done for his career, the problem is the organization needs more than 1 guy like Vladdy and it doesn’t seem like they want to go after and bigger names to compliment him
