It is hard to believe that it has been nearly 2 years since the release of the Charizard Ultra Premium Collection. The Charizard UPC was one of the most hyped Trading Card Releases Pokemon has ever seen and was coupled with misinformation all over the place! The thoughts of low allocation numbers and rumors about short prints spread like wildfire.
However, these rumors were quickly squashed when Walmart and other popular Retail Stores featured preorders for the Charizard UPC that lasted several weeks despite the product being listed at MSRP. Shortly after release, Pokemon Card fans were mocking the release saying that it was overprinted. Fast forward to today, and the Charizard Ultra Premium Collection has grown over 60% in the past year, and continues to trend upward. How high will Charizard climb? Let's talk about it!

people forget evolving skies were in them boxes
Last week I opened one I had in storage I did not get one hit I could not believe it😢 unbelievable it didn't look like it was tampered with.
@@jayjones1500 Thats rough half are duds and half have good hits, I pulled sylveon vmax alt art from the es inside my charizard upc
Nobody's buying the UPC just for the 2 or 3 ES packs.
@@JohnDoe-ld8nrI might open my extra UPC’s to keep hunting for my ES packs😅
@@jayjones1500 Same thing happened to me, saved up for a while to buy one from my LCS and didn’t get a sing hit.
I started in 2017. Learned how to play so I could play with my son. I was instantly hooked.
Started in 99 Base with the normal story of release of the TCG when I was in 6th grade. Was driven 30 minutes for tournaments at Toys R Us that were held once a month in the store for awhile. I stayed in until Neo Discovery and then kept my cards. Came back into the hobby during XY when I bought a few packs of trading cards to put together a Pokemon backing to an object when proposing to my wife... yes bizarre but it makes sense with our relationship. I have had a store since 2018 primarily geared towards singles across the board not graded. I've been a full time store online since 2023 and am trying to transition into sealed along with singles from common Karrablast reverse holo Brilliant Star cards up to Alternate Art cards across the board. It's been a wild ride and love and live in this hobby 24-7.
I remember buying a team up booster box off Amazon for 95 bucks in 2020, good times 😢
I picked up a cosmic eclipse, unified minds, and celestial storm booster boxes on Amazon in early 2020 for about 95-100 bucks each also. The funny thing is I was going to buy more to keep sealed but I figured that I can just "grab them whenever". OOPS!
The zard promos are underrated‼️🔥💥☄️
First booster box I opened, while getting back into Pokemon was Rebel Crash... what a turd.
P.s. i remember Danny selling these for $130. His conscience was clean with that price, marking them up would have been a huge mistake in retrospect.
When everyone was ripping this product to piece out, I was buying to hold.
Something else I think will keep this product naturally growing is the vstar promo that corresponds with the best alt art from CZ. When CZ spikes, this will spike. When SwSh spikes, this will spike. When zard spikes, this will spike. It has a lot of baked in positives
I remember having cards as a kid in the EX era. Got back in when Vivid Voltage was hotter than the sun. 😂
Relatively recently! Been researching off and on and scoping my local stores
25 years! Started playing the tcg competitively at DP Base set in 2007
I started early black & white era. I remember the starter tins when there wasn't always a ex in them.
Started in 1999 at 8 until about 2002. Then got back in 2014. Been addicted since
I got back into Pokemon around the XY Roaring Skies era and I have been here ever since
2020 was when I got in - specifically Champions Path, Dagonite Kanto Power Collection Box, and Vivid Voltage
Base Set right when I came out, remember going to the comic store and buying base set packs. I was in grade 5 and 6. stopped from 18 to 26 and got back into it again
crown zenith got me in
It’s basically a sword and shield sample box with charizard promos, I always had faith in this product! so much so I have like 35 of them
When I was a kid my dad got me into base and fossil...I gave it up then jumped back in in 2021 after randomly buying a pack of brilliant at wawa! Now here I am!
I got into Pokémon back in 1999 with Pokemon red and blue I was 12 years old
Traded a bunch of cards for 2 of these UPCs earlier this year. Glad I held off opening them. 🎉
Grabbed two during Black Friday last year. Paid about $89 each I think. So glad I grabbed them when I did.
I was like 9/10 years old when Pokémon hit the states and was pretty absorbed through the gen 2 GB games. I missed out on a lot of the gen 2 cards though 😢😢. Now I got back in October 2023 with 151
Also, check you're Pokémon Center for price. I bought the 151 UPC from them directly PC UK as they were cheaper than anywhere on the Internet 😅
I've been playing Pokemon games since Yellow on the Game Boy Color, but the first TCG pack I ever opened, bought, or held in my hands was S&V 151.
I started at the beginning with base set. Took a break around 2008 then got back in around Chilling Reign.
Started in the original, stopped when fire red leaf green came out because it seemed to get “predictable”
big mistake narrowly missing the gold star days!
Flashfire brought me back in as a zard fanboy, seemed like the coolest set to try again and hooked ever since
I started collecting more and more back when the SV 151 came out. I started playing the tcg in January 2024. I definitely recommend playing the game because of how awesome it is. It makes the hobby better.
I was in first grade when base set packs were hanging on shelves, there was no dollar value to our cards to us back then, just traded them for what our friends pulled that we didn’t have. I continued opening for a few sets after that but stopped in middle school, then found my way back in 2017… the world was in shambles and I wanted to know how it felt to pull a charizard one more time, and alas, burning shadows and hidden fates were there ready for me
I remember my mom saying to not put the cards in my pocket and being confused by the statement.
first started before it even hit the global release.
Picked up a sealed Charizard UPC for $120 a couple weeks ago from a local card dealer.
Keeping it sealed
As a kid then of course came back w 151
Started with Base Set way back when I was in like 3rd grade and stopped sometime during the eReader era. Came back right before Hidden Fates dropped, specifically because of the stained glass birds promo card
I collected as a kid in the late 90s to the early 2000s. Started collecting a little in 2017 but didn’t really hop back into it until 2020 when a couple friends and I started playing the TCG for the first time. Haven’t stopped since haha
“Sound like absolute Trubbish” and THIS is why I love you man! Hahaha
The thing that bothers me about tcg player is the Arceus V Figure Collection - SWSH09: Brilliant Stars (SWSH09) for example if you look at listings and sold items the data is skewed because they are including individual listings of 8$ for just the figure which is completely messing with the data
Been collecting since Wizards produced the cards
Charizard was in Obsidian Flames. You said nothing was made since Paldea Evolved.
Started in 2021 with Silver Tempest because of my girlfriend. She wanted to try to play the game and in the end I became obsessed with collecting. With a main focus on Entei, Raikou and Suicune card because I loved Entei as a kid
I got sick the very first week the kids were back..I been in Pokémon since the beginning but took a long long break and came back. I opened my Charizard and thought I would buy another to hold but never did
Leave it to Danny to “feel like Trubbish”
Can't believe people actually send in a card to be graded and to get a PSA 1. What did they do? Put it in a blender before sending off??? 🤣
Team rocket was the first set I was able to complete. Then when the e reader series came out I gave up collecting for a while. I became a player mostly from then on.
Think I started in 2015 or 16, I don’t remember much but I have some decent xy pulls from then
Started back in 99 and left it for Yugioh in 02 then came back in 16. 😅
I bought one and still sealed in box.
I remember first getting into the hobby right before champions path came out, I went on amazon and purchased a ton of those pin collection boxes for like $14.99 and they never filled my order, im still a bit salty about that lol.
I started in 1999 for a few year but returned in 2016 and got into it for a few years and then quit for a while and then been back for the last couple years
Started with the base set as a kid, used to get a packet every Friday after school 😀, lost a bit of interest in my late teens and returned for S&S. Videos like yours have certainly helped me along my travels. Thanks Danny 🐐🐐
4 years 🎊 🎉
Early in life i was into base through like team rocket.. got back in for Chilling Reign and havent looked back
Ruby and sapphire era ❤
I started collecting pocket monsters in 1998, there wasn't any english cards back then. japanese was all that was around to buy. wish I would have bought the charizard premium box. sometimes you snooze you lose lol!!!
I know a “I have a kid who goes to kindergarten”-cold from miles away 🤣. Take care my dude
first time ever opening pokemon was with plasma storm I had a zekrom tin was the first product i opened
Just started in June this year
Nice, Charizard UPC was one of the last things i bought a few boxes of before i started saving money for other areas.
Always cool to see what you post about, cant wait to get back into the hobby, regrow my personal collection.
Started in base set unlimited stopped in Gen 2. Came back because of my nephew and the boom!
Card hobby, only since Paradox Rift. Been into the video games since HG/SS though. I started in my 30s (nearing 50 now!). My daughter (8) got into the cards with Sun & Moon, but only a pack here or there.. Paldea Evolved got her full in with the Iono SIR.
Got back in sense battle styles
This box is gonna skyrocket in a few years, you have the best sets of swsh, and cool promos, can't ask for more.
I started with Paldea Evolved, awesome set to start with; and myself and kiddo enjoy it. Now playing Pokemon Go as well.
I remember coming back into the hobbie was a while back and the set i first opened was stellar crown good times
The Sword and Shield ETB
The unsellable upc😮😆
Started with base set, stopped after e-reader cards got released, I really hated that design and new gen of pokemon back then for some reason 🙈 came back with 151, obviously 🤣
I like how Phanny at least waits a while and says "IF you enjoy the content" before saying "hit the like and subscribe button." I've seen so many videos where they start off the video with that and I'm like "B this is the very first video of yours I have ever seen. I'm not liking anything and I sure as hell am not subscribing."
Hope you feel better soon
U forgot 151 that not long came out
A man's Charizard never dies!
Back in 2020
Finally, one of my fomo investments is taking flight 😂
For the love of Jesus plz keep the zard out of the last 5-6 sets . For the rest of scarlet and violet
I started as soon as they came out
Off and on from base set
Started with base set when I was in the 6th grade way back in 1999 through the gym series! Then got older and forgot all about it until my son started to take an interest around Sun and Moon era. Then he started to lose interest after Scarlett Violet but I've been going strong still loving me some Pokémon! Def my hobby as an adult now! I'm a total freakin pokenerd no doubt about it! 😅🤷♂️
I was very involved in Pokemon growing up wasn't till my later 20s I got back into collecting not playing don't understand it much now lol sadly I've just sold over half my collection due to moving jobs and needing new equipment to better my work Hopefully I'll get back collecting soon great video been months since I tuned in 👍👍🏴
Feel better soon Danny 😊
I started in 2014
Thank you Danny!! Love and appreciate your videos. Hope you feel better soon.
You sound like Christopher Walken!
No he doesn't! That's a horrible thing to say!
@@OpinionatedChicken59 I think Christopher Walken is pretty cool, or is there something wrong with him?
I only started collecting 2half -3 yesterday ago my first pack I ever opened was astral Radiance then about a month later lost origin came out I knew nothing when I first started now however I know alot more now from watching ur videos and other tubers I've mastered all sv sets only set not completed is sf and Sc 😊
TH-camrs always have colds
Is it easy to play the pokeman card game? I'm just getting back Into it since the 90s
