Love seeing some off-meta stuff as a physical player trying to get more cards. I am dreaming up a horrendously off-meta amber/sapphire items deck for Tamatoa that I want to build towards solely because I like the song mechanics and I like the Lantern item. It won’t be great but I think it’ll be fun.
Hehe, I have also been playing around with Amber-Sapphire Tamatoa. Since Lantern is one of the best items, it only makes sense! I was running into trouble surviving vs aggro decks because of the lack of removal. In the end, Fun is what this game is all about!
It’s a nice list, but I think Just In Time is one of the best cards in amber. Simba is nice, but he doesn’t have a lot of staying power. I think dropping the Maximus on turn 3-4 is so powerful. There are a lot of good 5drop in amber/sapphire especially combined with things like Lantern. Plus you can increase utility with a couple of Scepters and/or Quills. The former makes your higher Lore cards more valuable by lending their power to the weaker cards and the latter helps avoid getting locked by unsinkable sin your hand. I would drop Rock Star and Merlin, add Just In Time and another inkable five drop character. With fifteen uninkables I think you should strongly consider adding a couple of Quills.
An early Maximus is indeed pretty powerful. I agree that Merlin should be taken out. I was pushing the weird theme a little too far XD. I should probably take out the Ariels as well to reduce the number of uninkables. A few quills can be useful. Thanks for the recommendations and comment. I should probably do a more serious/competitive Amber-Sapphire list at some point :).
I’m surprised you didn’t include Phil. Yeah, his stats don’t guarantee long-term survival, but his power boost is nothing to sneeze at. He’s often teched into Sapphire in order to deal with Simba, after all. At least, in my game store.
I definitely should have included Phil. I mist have forgotten about him when I mafe this deck. I do fear TinkerBell/Hans pings, but he wojls have fit perfectly in this list. Good call.
I love sapphire, but it is so hard to pair it because of the general lack of card draw and survivability. I am hoping to see a bodyguard in either sapphire or amethyst to make the purple/blue deck a viable deck.
Sapphire offers the best ramp and some very good single target removal. I have a Sapphire-Amethyst list that might interest you - Meta Mickeys. Sapphire is a good midrange/controlish ink, but I don't think that it can play aggro very well.
I am playing using the simulator Pixelborn. You should be able to find install instructions in the Discord Channel "Pixelborn", or by googling for instructions.
@@JRob_2309 You also need to download the card images since they aren't technically part of the program. There are a few steps to the instructions, but the discord channel has them and support if you run into any issues.
Can I ask why I can’t rank really. It is super bugged out. Also I am unsure how to trigger some abilities. Specifically, I can’t figure out how to put a character card in hand with “be our guest”
@@JRob_2309 It takes a while to get a hang of the controls, for card selection, you need to click on 'draw' on top pf the card you want. There are some bugs, but overall I find it pretty smooth.
pretty cool games, I just have one suggestion, could you show what every card does as it's played in the side panel? I guess it would be a lot of work editing
Thanks for the suggestion. I actually do it in real time, which is why I sometines forget as I get too much into the game. I currently limit it to my deck so that I can find cards faster, but I can try to do the opponent's ones too and see how it goes.
What are your thoughts on the post-games analysis? Are you interested in seeing an improved Amber-Sapphire list from our lessons learned?

You had a good idea, but it wasn’t at its best potential yet. But that’s how you learn: through testing.
@@zacharyjoy8724 Indeed! By testing and sharing ideas with some friends (or the community), we can iteratively improve our lists and strategies.

I am not the greatest with PC but how are you playing that game digitally!? It looks fantastic. Is it something I can do? Would LOVE this!
