You gotta remember, this is Tuomas darkest point - his "self flagellation" in many ways. Lots of anger to get out there. I love the composition / arrangement of this piece. A dark and oriental feel again, with a hard hitting riff.
Oh boy, this one has... interesting lyrics 😂 I see it as Thomas expressing a loss of innocence but in a sexual sense, indulging in behaviours some people might find deviant as a reflection of his inner struggles, the death of the "child" so-to-speak.

Mais il s'agirait plutot une version de Tuomas de toutes ces histoires de sirènes ( Ulysse, Lorelei), une belle innocente femme qui se révèle être là uniquement pour enchanter les marins et les faire naviguer vers leurs morts. Même au terme de la chanson ,impossible de dire s'il s'agit d'une suite de la chanson précédente ou toute autre histoire. Je pense que je ne me pencherais pas plus que çà sur son cas, même la version live n'a pas réussi à me convaincre, ce n'est pas une chanson que j'aurais dans ma playlist
I think this song is about Tuomas and Tarja. Just kidding. Imagine Annette's face when she was asked to sing those lyrics. Not so much the subject matter but the way it has to be sung. Very Nightwish structure where you sing the first word of the new verse as part of the previous verse. Not one of my favourites from the album. It has kind of a bitter tone which I imagine was part of the idea but doesn't make it easy to listen to. Master Passion greed is a bit like that too but it's momentum carries it along a lot better.
Merci Guylain.. ithink the bridge, and then solo following, is the strong part of the song, i can also agree the the melody of the verse is not that strong, its a song with a few highlights i would say, and the bridge being quite impressive.and yes surely the subject of the song is linked to the title of the album, so thats cool. Im not sure if all the womens in the diffrent songs is the same, but i can surely link Eva in this one to.. As she left her place of innocence behind, and went out to meet the world, she also gets seducted by this ship sailing by, and maybe feel its a journey she have to make to grow up, experince this side to.. but i think she then will see, this was not a good choice, so you live and learn, try diffrent stuff out.
