I've been running premade maps for a while, but I'm really looking forward to getting back into my own map making. Baileywiki team, Ripper, and others have added so many tools to make life so much easier. Thanks for all the hard work all of you do.
I am right now using an old tool I had to create a map outside of Foundry, but then I have to import it into Foundry and usually I don't have the set of tiles / textures / objects ready within Foundry. I skipped through that video to get a brief idea what I can expect here. Going to rewatch that and try that in Foundry as well. Hopefully speed up my works.
I came across your videos after hearing someone tell me Foundry now has a 3d Canvas plugin. It has me considering using Foundry for my next campaign. Any chance you could show how one might do a "Visual Novel" / first person perspective in Foundry? Like, showing an environmental bg and then popping up NPC character images over top as they talk to people? Whether with 2d sprites or in the 3d system? (Being able to drop in 2d backgrounds sounds a lot easier than having to build each environment in the 3d editor). I've never been one to map out whole dungeons, and while I'll bust out a map for a big or complex combat, for something simple like a couple wolves in the woods, I usually don't. I haven't done a lot of VTT gaming though, mostly in-person, with a side of "well, I'm GMing from a laptop, I can hook up a second monitor and show MtG land art that matches the scene, or crop 1080p NPC portraits when they talk to people."
is there a module version needed for Monks active tiles needed? When i click the map, i get the prompt but nothing pops up for adjust position. Mine is currently 11.22. Update. Updated to new Monks active tiles. No change.
I went into Active Tiles' settings and changed the default trigger to a double click. That fixed it for me. Well. It fixed my ability to get the popup. I still couldn't get it to randomize or anything. But moving it around might be what you needed. :D
The hot fix was released a couple weeks ago. You should just be able to reimport any scenes and the background movement macro should work. Not for you? Did you update?

Acquiring Mass Edit really opened up a Renaissance of mapping capability. I need to get my Tom Cartos stuff in there now!
Thank you for this video, videos made in this way help a lot to understand how to manage prefabs.Where can I find macros I've used?
There's a little tiny folder icon to the left of your macro bar. They're all hidden in there.

I haven't seen the portraits overhead while dialoguing thing yet, but it doesn't mean it don't exist. Peruse the Foundry module library.
@@Baileywiki I will have to look then. Worst case, I may be able to adapt some of this landing page stuff.
Woah
It looks cool, but after this, you can fry eggs on my video card :D
Ah, but not if you optimize the final product as a single tile! Check out Media Optimizer by Ripper. 👍

Update. Updated to new Monks active tiles. No change.
I have the same problem. I saw on BW's discord that it's a known issue, and they're working on a hotfix.
Yeah, hot fix is coming soon. You can use the TMFX Edit macro to adjust the placement in the meantime. Sorry!

Did you (1) reimport the map from the compendium, (2) activate your token layer (on the left), and (3) doubleclick the background tile?
