You have a point at the alcohol part, but he pointed the gun at Conrad because Javi was his uncle. Let's say you have an uncle who always protects you and he gets straight up blamed by the group that it was his fault. He gets blamed that he did something evil. You might do something not as insane as Gabe, but you have to negate it. Ofcourse he needs to be saved, he just started survival, atleast he experiences that type of events unlike Sarah. Gabe seeing clem like that, he might learn faster on survival and skills.
It is a good choice though, Conrad becomes a better person in the later episodes. Don’t picture him as a villain just because he point a gun at her, he was just losing it. (It’s your opinion, you can think whatever you want)
