Just came over to your channel at the recommendation of SmartieBob. I smoke my clay tavern or churchwarden about 40% to %50 of the time. They really are good smoking pipes. Sublime piping!
Hello, Smartie Bob recommended you. Enjoyed the video so will like and subscribe. I’m a transplant a few years ago from West Palm area to upstate NY. Look forward to your videos. JMJ, Pater Brian
I thank you for giving us some background on the clay pipe. I bought one a while back because I loved the history behind it and wanted to have a hand a piece of history. Not that the pipe I bought has history in its age but just the thought that I have in hand something that was used in the 18th century, I wasn't crazy about that taste and feel of the stem on my lips so I painted the stem with some blue acrylic paint which placed a barrier between clay and lip. Your research and presentation were top notch and I thank you.
Very informative and i have a few clays that i collected for my collection. Your video gave me inspiration to get more and start smoking them thank you so much such History fantastic job looking forward to more of your wonderful work. Stay smoking your friend Scott
Hey my brother, just wanted to let you know that there is software out there for really cheap that will automatically kill all of that background noise and make you sound super amazing.
Clay pipes have the quickest turnaround: I’ve smoked 2 to 3 consecutive bowls, but I’d follow the same rule as for briars: let it air-out for a day or two.
An excellent presentation. One negative you haven't mentioned: keeping the pipe upright so the bowl doesn't hang down and dump the lit tobacco in your lap. You have to keep a tight grip on the stem. Now, I am nearly always reading something while I smoke a pipe, but the control required to keep the bowl upright takes attention from the reading matter, and the clay must be the most uncomfortable pipe to hold in one's teeth without manual support. Of course, back in the day (four or five hundred years or so ago), many people were illiterate or nearly so, and they smoked their pipes while chatting with friends and quaffing beer, so I don't suppose there was a real problem there.
I want to Thank You Sir for such an educational video. You are a very professional presenter. I hope you don't mind but you will be featured in my "Presenter of the Month" series that I will have in my next video. Thanks Again. 🙏🏻

My one clay is perfect for tasting new blends or components.
How long that we should rest it from first to another smoke, and how maintain it, cleaning ?

I put some shrink-tubing on mine to prevent the clay from ‘pasting’ with my saliva and to have a surface to clench…
