was surprised to see this video.. i was recently digging my hot wheels collection out of my closet, to photograph them, and i noticed i had a old school, blue hot wheels case. (not sure where i got that from) and inside it, were a lot of loose cars. Surprisingly a lot of the cars in that box, are in this video. So that was cool to learn the significance of them.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing that! Make sure to check out the following link to the full article I did on these. I give a lot more detail there. orangetrackdiecast.com/2024/05/19/huge-hot-wheels-vintage-score-blackwalls-hirakers-the-hot-ones-from-1982-1983/
@@orangetrackdiecast One difference i did notice. was my "Malibu Grand Prix" Indy car.. it has Good Year rubber tires on it. Not the smooth plastic ones you have. But same paint n everything. So i'm wondering if it was a re-issue?
Pretty much. The one I have with the plastic Blackwalls was from 1982. The next year (1983), they re-released it with Real Riders for the first year of those before changing the paint to yellow and updating the graphics. Back then, it was common for Hot Wheels to release the "same" car over multiple years.
@@orangetrackdiecast i was born in 82. lol. and i was surprised at how many of these cars (in your video) i recognized. And had i not already put all my cars back in my closet after taking pics, n not quite sure where i put that case, i woulda got it out to read the bottom of it to see what year it said.
Yes, I was surprised to learn that when I started researching the cars a little more. I wrote a full article on these here: orangetrackdiecast.com/2024/05/19/huge-hot-wheels-vintage-score-blackwalls-hirakers-the-hot-ones-from-1982-1983/
These OG Hot Wheels cars? it's the blast from the past of these cars.
Indeed! Very honored someone was thinking of me.
Great haul Brad. I am always looking for cars from that era. Thanks for sharing.

The good news is there are out there. Depends on the price I guess.
@@orangetrackdiecast yeah, seen them before but just difficult to find them in mint condition
Very true.
Very awesome 🎉🎉
Thank you 🤗
Where did you get that mat? I would like one.
It was a Lamley Group X Dream Customs collaboration. This particular model is sold out but I heard another version is coming.
Cool to see that Street Is Neat car
Agreed. Something you never see these days.
@@orangetrackdiecast I have one , same color but missing the motor & windshield
Yeah, those tend to fall off when played with.
That's almost the whole set available from McDonald's happy meals from 82-83
