You guys are really spoiling us with all of this beautiful walnut lumber! Another incredible walnut log and another masterful job of sawing! Thanks again to you, THE Eddie and C. Eddie for making this rare treat possible!
My father-in-law was a farmer/self taught cabinet maker. His MOST favorite wood to use was walnut. These last two videos with the sawing of the black walnut was wonderful opportunity to remember a great man. I am a fortunate man to have had such a good relationship with the father of my wife. I also had a great relationship with her mother too.
Thank you Mark thank you mister Eddie thank you cousin Eddie always enjoy your shows I think that was a beautiful Walnut log I wish I had it I wish I could buy it from you and make something out of it it makes them beautiful Furniture God bless y'all
Happy Veterans Day, and thank you all for your service. Here in Fl. we see a lot of Hard Wood logs come in with "Wind Shake", we had two Black Heart Magnolia logs we where going to saw, had a bad Wind Shake in it and I found 3 Nails, called the guy and told him about the nails, he said he knew about the nails, but that's all of them, I said how you know he said the tree was from his hunt camp and it had a target on it for 30 years till the tree died, I never seen so much Lead in a slab of wood. We cut these logs on a 50/50 deal, I am going to make a few table out of them, and I am not going to remove the lead. And yes Wind Shake and Lead is not good but the Black Heart is so nice. I like walnut but we don't see much of that around here. Take care Mack and Eddie
Can't beat Walnut and Cherry for furniture in the home! The only place for Oak in the home is flooring to walk on and the fireplace burning to keep us warm.lol.
I love walnut firewood! Now, before y'all go ripping on me, Yes I save the logs for lumber, but off a nice walnut you get a lot of branches, and they make some of the best smelling firewood out there! Burns awful purdy, too!
walnut is dying here on my farm in northern ny so im sawing it sent some 3 and 4 in by 8 ft pieces to nebraska with my daughter for mantles in her house rest is waiting in my barn for something to do with it as usual nice vid guys
That walnut sure is nice stuff i cut one a few months ago that was 46" but the first 10 ft was really hollow but we still got a 12 ft log that was 3 ft in diameter
I heard one of you mentioning working on a house in Warshington haha. I was born and raised in the area for 40 years. Where is your sawmill located I would like to stop in someday when I'm in the area Awesome walnut BTW
Hello Mark ... We never see your wood stock on your land ... always dry wood and a little worm-eaten! .. you never have a freshly cut "newspaper"? ....

I absolutely love watching your videos! The quantity and quality you saw is awesome! Keep up the good work!
thanks Randle.
Thank you for the video.
thanks for watching.
As a board hoarder, nothing from a black walnut is discard or firewood if I can help it. Thanks Mark for making sure these logs get used
Yup, even the 'bells' Mark cut off could be (carefully) sectioned into pistol grip blanks.
glad you liked it.
Good morning to all from SE Louisiana 27 Nov 21.
I dunno. Maybe I'm weird. I find watching that saw cut through the log and turning it into lumber mesmerizing.
Have a great weekend
you too Brian.
That's some really beautiful boards you saw there mark I'm loving it
thanks Montel.

@@markgalicic7788 Excellent. Looking forward to the video.
As a wood turner I sure do Wish that I could have grabbed those ends. There is a market on E-Bay for pieces like that. Bowl Blanks. Love your videos
I would like to see what you make out of them.
Beautiful wood. Just amazing!!

Enjoy your weekend Mark and THE EDDY HORVATH!

Fuck yeah, I love big walnut!
Great entertainment, as usual! It's ASMR for machine heads!

Hi from Canada🇨🇦👋
Hi Mary.
Lol I'm the govt part. Mary Gottfried I'm Gottfried😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🙏👋👋👋👋🇨🇦🇨🇦
Very nice. Last time I shopped for Walnut it was $8/bf for the "meh" stuff and $11 for the good quality.
yes it is pricey.
That's some pretty awesome wood there
thanks Harriet.
Boom.
I love walnut firewood! Now, before y'all go ripping on me, Yes I save the logs for lumber, but off a nice walnut you get a lot of branches, and they make some of the best smelling firewood out there! Burns awful purdy, too!
That and ceder smell nice
yes I do burn walnut too just slabs & cut offs .
walnut is dying here on my farm in northern ny so im sawing it sent some 3 and 4 in by 8 ft pieces to nebraska with my daughter for mantles in her house rest is waiting in my barn for something to do with it as usual nice vid guys
yes saw it while it's still good. we should have sawed more ash before it died.
On your first cuts, do you square the sides of the boards or does the customer?
..that walnut sure makes some pretty boards,,good one, keep safe..
I do love sawing walnut.
You fellas always do a good job 😉 do you Saw much hickory
thanks Edward , we do saw hickory one in a while.
Just a general question. Have you cut a log with a twist in it. Can you see the twist in the wood as you cut it .
yes we have very nice grain pattern.
Nice walnut boards, never disappointing! Is there ever really nice articles of furniture that is intentionally made with different hardwoods?
I like mixing Walnut and figured Maple--makes a nice contrast.
thanks Artemus.
Ah, another video! Time to settle down to Friday Eve video
yes a good ole Friday eve.
greetings from Indonesia friends
greetings Suro.
Nice log, can you quarter saw that on your mill or is it not feasible?
thanks William , we don't quarter saw on this mill.
@@markgalicic7788 I’ve tried it once on my bandsaw mill with a 24” beech, and it’s a lot of work, but the 4qt boards were beautiful.
That walnut sure is nice stuff i cut one a few months ago that was 46" but the first 10 ft was really hollow but we still got a 12 ft log that was 3 ft in diameter

Awesome walnut BTW
Hi Skip , we are in Imperial . hope to se you.
@@markgalicic7788 Probably in the spring I'm only in Erie but we are preparing for the 10 ft of snow ❄ haha
You now just need to find a way to market walnut saw dust as a natural herbicide or to some presto log maker.
good idea.
Don't you ever mill green lumber?? Here in Norway the sawmill don't mill dry lumber. Lumber with dry bark goes strait trough the chipper..
yes we do this was standing dead.
You would have to be insane to chip a walnut log like that
Do you ever do an apprenticeship for running a saw mill?
no we don't.
Printing off more money again. 💰
yes sir John.
Hello Mark ... We never see your wood stock on your land ... always dry wood and a little worm-eaten! .. you never have a freshly cut "newspaper"? ....
we can show the log yard.
It would nice if the bark was removed before sawing. A machine that could remove the bark off the tree for you.
we don't want a debarker.
What is
"Grade sawing" ?
that is how hardwood lumber is sawn and each board must make a grade.
Ugly log into beautiful walnut lumber. Nice job.
thanks Richard.
Ugly on the outside but very nice on the inside. Thanks for another video guys.
glad you liked it Gary.
ok
Are those first cuts eligible to be edgeable? 😀
yes sir John.
It's only walnut.
Runs away and hides.
yes sir.
HUmmm is it a bad boy or ole girl?
both.
Your log turner is devastating to watch
works great.
