I love it...my kids loved it...my GOD we need more of this...just the fact that my kids look and see their skin, their eyes, their nose...you are literally change the world...more please!!!! Im subn

+Cookie Couture I believe this comes from dance and music being so instilled in our culture. When a wise woman/man would have the youth hear a tale it was usually a performed act. In some cases with masks and often in song as well. These movements made it easier for the youth to grasp the complex concepts which where passed on from generation to generation. I recommend you listen to west African Kora music from greats like Toumani Diabate and Sona Jobarteh their family has performed traditional tales since the rise of the Mali Empire! Heres some of their music... Toumani-Rachid Ouiguini(1,000 y/o melody about an evil snake god) th-cam.com/video/Jt2u7C-CnCM/w-d-xo.html Sona-Saya th-cam.com/video/muKYuDVs_kk/w-d-xo.html
A PURE MASTERPIECE! Hayao Miyazaki, Genndy Tartakovsky, Dwayne Macduffie, Micheal Dante DiMartino, Bryan Konietzko (both the creators of Avatar) just to name a few would be Proud. I feel enlightened. We need more of this!
Thanks! I admire all those artists you mentioned and I'll continue to strive to grow as an artist/storyteller hopefully, one day leaving my own mark as they all have done.
am familiar with the music, I use to love and still do listening to stories from my grandmother e.g. in Africa when it gets dark we would sit by the fire and listen to stories. My favourites was about these twins can't remember much but loved that story. I also love the one about the orphan which my mum has on cassette tapes. I'll tell you briefly about this one. its an old couple walking home and the husband sees a sheep he wish he had to kill and eat, his wife shout about how poor he is and should stop wishing for other peoples stuff e.g. its soo funny, if I could make cartoons I would definitely create my childhood stories for everyone to enjoy. Well done, you did a great job.
I really love this video I want to support it 100 percent and the Odu Nation here in Memphis support it as well....Oduduwa Agbara Ifa Black Power...Ife Love Ase...!!!
This is pretty much what I wanna do too. The animation work, the symbolism, different sketch styles; I loved to see this. I hope you keep up and wish you the best homie!! You got a subscriber outta me forsure
Thanks, brother! The Music is by the great Sidiki Conde (Djembe) and Malang Jobarteh (Kora) enjoy! Sidiki Conde th-cam.com/video/S2IgzlrI_Ik/w-d-xo.html Malang Jobarteh th-cam.com/video/-dciLM-VIks/w-d-xo.html
+Ben Ben Thanks most of the legends and creatures I found in my studies of African lore and others from my Grandmother telling me tales she grew up hearing!
+Guada M Thanks the characters where derived from lore from all over the continent for a pan-African approach... The serpent is a mix of a few legends his name is Bida, the witch is called Juju, the little girl is Orisha (which loosely means nature spirit or deity in Yoruba tradition), The turtles of the "Walking Forest" I felt are so old that they existed before men could form names. So only the wind and the earth and the trees could say their true names!!
+abdulndadi Thank you so much! I'm from Argentina but I'm a little familiar with yoruba culture, it's interesting and really beautiful. Hope to see more of your work soon! :)
+Noemi Maza That would be awesome! Thanks:) You can message me here on the Facebook page facebook.com/1OrishasJourney/ or contact me through my Tumblr abdulndadi.tumblr.com/
Thanks for your comment! If you feel that way, that's fine:) However, it's based on various lore, myth, and imagery from all across the African continent. Thanks again🙏🏿
I really love this video I want to support it 100 percent and the Odu Nation here in Memphis support it as well....Oduduwa Agbara Ifa Black Power...Ife Love Ase...!!!
