I love that Josh made a point to say "this is one of our good pans so I'm not going to use metal on it" and then the next scene he's using a metal whisk on it.
Finnish isn't loosely related to Estonian, it's *closely* related, as in the two languages are mutually intelligible to some extent. They're both part of the Finno-Ugric language family, and more distantly related to Hungarian, among others.
I imagine they travel with people carrying buckets, catch the melting Swedes in them, then head either for a freezer, Minnesota, or North Dakota to reconstitute them back into Swedish form.
My mans said NEM NUONG HOLY FRICK. Between Mythical Kitchen and A Hotdog is a Sandwich, Josh continues to impress with his knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine, and even the lesser known dishes that I grew up with! We love to see the SE ASIAN representation ❤
As a full swede I will add that it depends. If you are from north of stockholm then you will melt in the south of sweden. If you are from stockholm or further south then you either live half the summer in thailand or mallorca. Meaning that heat is less of an issue
Trevor deserves more confidence xD Some of us literally watch these episodes to see him whoop like a baboon and bro out with Josh. I don't think Trevor knows he's some of our favorite content.
I have cooked professionally since '94 this is the first time I've ever commented on any video of yours. I wish I could have that much fun in the kitchen creating something new.
They should've posted this as a...special episode last month. It was like both of them had gotten off an extremely long flight they didn't get any sleep on and immediately went to work to start filming.
Kamalaa kun jouduin itse ihan netin avulla muistelemaan että mitkä kielet olikaan uralilaisesta kielestä suomen lisäksi. Viron ja unkarin kieli tietenki.😅😂
My best friend is Swedish and he would die watching this 😂 Sweden is one of the nicest places ive been, i love Gothenburg. Shout out the Blueberry pie from expresso house, if you know you know
Trevor is definitely my favorite. He has a lot of jokes that I totally get, and then a whole bunch more I definitely don’t understand but I use anyways to make my niece cringe.
My son is a cook at our local Ikea and he was actually incredibly impressed by the kitchen situation and food quality so this is pretty funny to me personally.
I make my great grandmother's swedish meatball recipe every year on Xmas Eve. The key is mixing the meat for like 10min straight. I know this is the complete opposite from Italian meatballs, where it's important not to over mix, but it's crucial with swedish meatballs. You take it way past "over mixing", and it ends up super tender. I never like them nearly as much if this step isn't done.
I’ve heard plenty of outrageous things on this show but 16:21 is where I actually had to triple take 😭 I’m gonna need Davin here for this one cuz I know I didn’t hear what I thought I heard
I miss the old roasted red potatoes with the meatballs. One kid was so addicted we had to go as much as possible. Finally could trick into us to make at home.
Honestly the most Swedish meatballs to me are the ones they got at IKEA, it's a rare and beautiful thing that anyone makes their own. And they're usually seasoned plainly, so idk where he got all those spices from.
im american and live in Denmark and my best friend is Swedish so Danish is really close to Swedish cuisine....do some Danish food...pork or red cabbage...yummmm
This is probably the Joshest and Trevorest Josh and Trevor have ever been in a Mythical Kitchen episode ever
i so agree!! 🤣
YES
Authenticity ftw
I just don’t understand how it looks so nice in the thumbnail.
To the point of being annoying
I love that Josh made a point to say "this is one of our good pans so I'm not going to use metal on it" and then the next scene he's using a metal whisk on it.
And another pot! 😂😂😂😂
as someone with ADHD, listening to josh and trevor has given me an insight into what i sound like when i'm unmedicated
Do you also understand them better since you are a fellow ADHD person?
@@seeya20743 I do lol
Me fully medicated, sounding like this with a hint of structure, irony and self awareness
@@seeya20743 honestly yes, i could transcribe their rambling
i was thinking the same thing😅😅😅
My favourite thing about this channel is that if they fail at something, they still run with it. 😂 it makes the whole thing feel more real.
They know mistakes are important in the kitchen and cooking- when you learning from them! And they also know they are entertaining either way lol
I know it's not fast food but for some reason after watching this I want Josh and Trevor to make fancy Spaghetti-o's with meatballs
Upvote this.
You've never heard of spaghetti and meatballs?
@@kaldo_kaldo I have but I want to watch Josh have a mental breakdown trying to make tiny pasta o’s
Tiny? Fancy food is never tiny!
@@kaldo_kaldo spaghetti-os and meatballs sir.
Trevor’s explanation of how his generation would say “let him cook” was profound and enlightening 😂
Trevor wearing a tiny Swedish flag in his hair is so cute!
It game me so much anxiety because it was so close to his eye.😅
it was my idea
He's a true Kock now.
Trevor's let him cook bit has me dying omfg our gen z king and his millennial older brother are my favorite duo
Finnish isn't loosely related to Estonian, it's *closely* related, as in the two languages are mutually intelligible to some extent. They're both part of the Finno-Ugric language family, and more distantly related to Hungarian, among others.
dying at the fact that every single ingredient in the fruit leather made both josh and Trevor cry out in distaste.
Trevor's pronounciation of köttbullar is native. Bless his little heart.
This needs to be highlighted
I appreciate the variety of drinks in the car 😂 mine are all half full water bottles
The thing about swedes melting in LA is absolutely true, speaking from experience
Theres a tight knit community of swedes in FL to keep each other from melting
@@vie7499 Thanks, now I'm imagining a bunch of Swedish people clumped together and packed in ice wandering around FL...
@@HexIsme AHAHAHA this comment made my day 😭😂
I imagine they travel with people carrying buckets, catch the melting Swedes in them, then head either for a freezer, Minnesota, or North Dakota to reconstitute them back into Swedish form.
I absolutely LOVE it when Josh and Trevor cook together. The bit just never gets old for me 😂
As a swede , this was both hilarious and physically painful to watch… 😅
crying of laughter !
I feel the exact same way. Lagom smärta.
I agree completely
I agree. missed rårörda lingon ;)
If he’s gonna mess with our food, we need to mess with their food
You guys should partner with a hotel brand and see what the best meal you can make with a hotel continental breakfast is.
Genius
Trevor's joke about people getting high on nutmeg is underrated
Dude straight up
My mans said NEM NUONG HOLY FRICK. Between Mythical Kitchen and A Hotdog is a Sandwich, Josh continues to impress with his knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine, and even the lesser known dishes that I grew up with! We love to see the SE ASIAN representation ❤
i was just thinking abt how he pronounced it perfectly lolol
Trevor: This may be the one we fail at.
Me: remembering the mcrib episode with the rose onions
It's really hard to make Josh gag, and even harder to produce technically edible things both Josh _and_ Rhett won't eat. But they managed it.
Their swedish accents sound more German than anything
Vee haff vays of making you Sveeeedish, da?
They sounded Indian at one point. 😅
Same difference 🤣
Josh's swedish greeting was also "Hallo" which is just Hello in German.
The Swedish accent is really hard to imitate. It's very subtle compared to the German accent.
*trixies swedish voice* “the boys are making the meatballs”
First thing I heard
When they did the Swedish accents, I could only think about Trixie and Klarna 😂
Hyellœ Swædeesh pæpul
@@4822PoundsofHam my sister was bit by a moose
YES
Saw the tiny bit of potato foam and just went “welp that’s not seasoned” 😂😂
As a half swede in Minnesota, this was hilarious. We do melt when we go that far south😂
Hi fellow Swedish Minnesotan mythical beast! I can barely handle our summers here. We're just built for the cold!
I am also a Swedish Minnesotan 😂 we are many.
As a full swede I will add that it depends. If you are from north of stockholm then you will melt in the south of sweden. If you are from stockholm or further south then you either live half the summer in thailand or mallorca. Meaning that heat is less of an issue
I was just about to say the fact that you live in Minnesota says it all lol😂😂
Trevor deserves more confidence xD Some of us literally watch these episodes to see him whoop like a baboon and bro out with Josh. I don't think Trevor knows he's some of our favorite content.
NOPE. He dumbs down Josh.
i feel like not enough people are appreciating trevor yelling “spHERICAL” as if the meatballs are a game sphere 😭💀
This episode is pure chaos ...... & I love it 😈
Trevor's line about nutmeg and robotripping was very funny, as a hozier listener
Trevor's face when he frowns deeply or opens his mouth in disgust from tasting things looks like the Wabbajack staff from Skyrim and that terrifies me
I have cooked professionally since '94 this is the first time I've ever commented on any video of yours. I wish I could have that much fun in the kitchen creating something new.
For the record, Josh is 100% right about people who grew up around deer hating them. 😂
I loved shooting them but seeing them in the yard or on the side of the road drove me nuts.
Coming from the American Midwest, I can relate.
Lingonberry juice is bomb. Especially if you do one part of the lingonberry to two parts of the lemon and elderflower concentrate.
the chaos, the food, the lateral movement....perfection
They should've posted this as a...special episode last month. It was like both of them had gotten off an extremely long flight they didn't get any sleep on and immediately went to work to start filming.
You guys got the pronunciation on köttbullar really well!
I am obsessed with the chaotic nature of these two together 😂
I know we often say that, but this might genuinely be the most chaotic episode yet. And there wasn't even a fire!
Love when Josh and Trevor are on together. They share one braincell and neither of them know where it is
This was hands down the best episode of ANY mythical show yet. LOVED IT
Trevor hitting the gritty while batting at the meatball like a goblin made me laugh so hysterically that I almost spit my coffee out. Very close call.
This chaos is such a great way to start your day😂 love these two wicked smaht guys!
Thank you for recognizing that Finnish doesn't share a common language with the other Nordics :P This was fun to watch as a Finn
Kamalaa kun jouduin itse ihan netin avulla muistelemaan että mitkä kielet olikaan uralilaisesta kielestä suomen lisäksi. Viron ja unkarin kieli tietenki.😅😂
My great grandmother was a Finn and I started learning the language. It's beautiful but boy is it hard.
I've been trying to learn Finnish for a year now. It's confusing me greatly but I'm getting there.
13:10 “getting high off of nutmeg is like robotripping for people that listen to Hozier” LMAOOO
Came for the ikea stayed for the unexpected Hozier
“Bigfoot is real and he tried to eat my ass” single greatest line on a hat. Thanks Trevor 😂
My best friend is Swedish and he would die watching this 😂 Sweden is one of the nicest places ive been, i love Gothenburg. Shout out the Blueberry pie from expresso house, if you know you know
Not sure what I just watched; the chaos was on next level this episode lol.
Trevor is definitely my favorite. He has a lot of jokes that I totally get, and then a whole bunch more I definitely don’t understand but I use anyways to make my niece cringe.
We need more Trevor and Josh! Bring back past food!
Burbank Foraged Greens - Priceless! 🤣🤣🤣
How were the tweezers not itemized?! It's fancy bc tweezers were used!
I'm sure it was a total fluke but Josh's pronunciation of nem nướng when he was listing his favorite meatballs was excellent haha
Josh nailed the pronunciation of his favourite meatballs 👍
The way they kept licking everything on the counter 😂. Trevor didn’t mind Josh’s sloppy seconds 😆🤣😂
The "SPHERICAL" got me way more than I thought it would 😂
I love when it’s Trevor and Josh
That was the perfect amount of chaotic energy to go with my morning coffee.
I'm living for the pile of cans in Josh's passenger floorboard. The occasional Instagram story updates are *chef's kiss*😂
I have to commend the wicked smaht chefs on their at times excellent tonal inflection. They nail it in "köttbullar".
“Fart salt” omg this was exxxxxxtraaa hilarious today 🤣 “tweezers” I’m crying 🤣 you two lol 💜🤘🏻🔥
Josh gets ten points for acknowledging and knowing that Finnish language is completely different than the other nordic languages.
(13:36) took me waaaaaaay back. Till this day I want a GameSphere 🤣
Deer are the cockroaches of the corn! (from a midwesterner)
Truly the most chaotic duo and I love it 😂
Proof that fancy eating like single plated ingredients is not only dumb but is not worth the cost. Thank you two for proving this
I hope you and Emily make more video's together. Those are my favorite video's. 👍
I just love this chaotic duo so much.
These two together are hilarious 😂
Love it! Just started watching your channel but I’m loving yall! ❤
I missed these utter descent into madness episodes. Well done.
Josh’s face in the thumbnail. It’s a choice that brought me here expecting exactly this.
I LOVED this episode (probably cause im swedish and it was so fun hearing you speak swedish) 🤭🤭
My son is a cook at our local Ikea and he was actually incredibly impressed by the kitchen situation and food quality so this is pretty funny to me personally.
Was waiting for the Muppet Swedish Chef to pop in or at least see yall do the impressions
This episode is so funny! Josh and Trevor have such chaotic energy and I love it!❤😂

These episodes are my favorite. Entertaining, unscripted chaos. So fun :)
Did not need the out-of-the-blue Bruins call out this morning, don't you see we're still in mourning?
Man I loved this episode of cooking with a gas leak! My favorite part was seeing how the broccoli was made!
Not a single Swedish Chef reference???
The fact Trevor is wearing his seatbelt is kinda wholesome.
A wild Vi!
And very Swedish. The three-point seatbelt is even a Swedish invention.
Seeing a fancy Costco Chicken Bake a la Mythical Kitchen is on my bucket list
Burbank foraged greens: PRICELESS
As a Dane, your Swedish accent sounds German to me.
As a Germ their accent sounds Dane to me
As a Dutchman, their accent sounded Hilarious to me.
As a Hilarious, their accent sounds like Dutch from the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger film Predator.
So this is why I suddenly woke up at 3 am... the mythical was near.
The fact that trevor knows who linus ullmark is
My Ikea trips start in the food court, my mom and aunt treated it like Saturday brunch, we'd get there at 11 am, eat, shop, then go home by 6 pm
watching Trevor try to figure what josh meant when he spelled was precious

Well this episode is just perfect. Definitely the most chaotic one, and my new favorite! You beautiful doofuses always make my day.
that Hozier joke was unparalleled
I’ll never understand why 5am but I’m here watching anyway
This was amazing. Love this duo 😂😂😂
Did Trevor say scoopski potatoes? An ode to Impractical jokers?
This might have been said by someone already, but the allspice is mainly a christmas thing. It's not an all year-thing.

The fancyness of the end product is burning my eyes
That Linus Ullmark reference was unexpected, but apprrciated. Keep the hockey references coming
Mythical should get Swedish lessons from Trixie Mattel
is the "fart salt" Kala namak? one of my favorite salt types try adding it to a tofu scramble
Just Josh just Joshin around as always
im american and live in Denmark and my best friend is Swedish so Danish is really close to Swedish cuisine....do some Danish food...pork or red cabbage...yummmm
I just want a taste test from the mythical kitchen.
