Guessed Japan on the Argentina round because you were going uphill on the left in the chairlift, which I assumed to be more common in countries with left side driving.
The orange snowpoles in the Nordics differ so that Finland has the reflecting ring just several cm from the top and Norway and Sweden have them like 20cm down.
I recognized that those looked like the California mountains, but I couldn’t have told you that it actually was there. Idk if that means that it truly looks unique there, or if it just happens to be where I thought it was. It’s possible that much of the mountainous western USA looks like that, idk. I’ve only ever been to the California parts. What I can tell you is that the reason that skiing is so popular in that mountain range is because there’s reliably as much snow as you saw, as long as there isn’t a drought there. It doesn’t snow quite as high as it looks like it did, that’s snow from the road that’s been pushed to the side as well. But it does snow like about 1/2 - 2/3 that height, the rest is road snow. And neither of those rounds were even really ~in~ the mountains, that’s arguably the foothills. You’re going at least 1k meters higher before you’re really in the mountains (at least from what I briefly saw when you zoomed in on the locations, reasonably sure for the first one, a bit less sure for the second).
might help you to know that the middle of the southern part of Norway (the «blob» or whatever you want to call it) is highly mountainous and usually highly elevated which means you will see very few trees and long stretches of flat land
Game 1: 19913 vs your 13465 (the snow depth, the pine trees and the wooden houses suggested it was the Lake Tahoe area) Game 2: 14538 vs your 16490 (you will never see floating ice in the Falklands; it doesn't get that cold) Game 3: 5203 vs your 16210 (I always guessed in the wrong country and 3 of those times it even was in the wrong continent 😅) Game 4: 16241 vs your 10625 (the trees in the first round looked Patagonian and I guess I was lucky with the Kyrgyzstan guess)
Until recently I was associating California mostly with palm trees, beach and so on as well, although I was actually skiing near Lake Tahoe many years ago. But last winter I saw several videos of blizzards in the north of California and it gets VERY winterly up there!! Maybe because of this I managed to beat you in the first round, although I went for Montana instead of Norway. But I wasn't much more south in my Antarctica-guess that you and still got double the points, this doesn't make sense to me either ... Thx for another fun video!
@@GeoPeter The Sierra Nevada snowpack (amount of snow above 1500m I think) is one of the most important water reservoirs for all of California, as I learnt recently. It can be several meters high!

In that first NMPZ round, not only did I think that Sweeden was Minnesota, I thought I knew exactly where it was in Minnesota! I've never been to your area of the world, but I would guess that you guys got a lot of snow there, too. Maybe not, though from your comments.
First game went pretty well, even tho I was pretty lost in a lot of rounds. First round looked Nordic to me, but I went way too far North and also wrong country (Sweden). Second round I was pretty sure it had to be Antarctica, most likely South Pole, but trying to locate it on the map was tricky. Third round was a lucky guess. I knew it was US, but which state, I wasn't sure at all. Got the right state, and less than 200km off. Fourth round was the hardest and my worst guess of the round. The road name turned out to be a red herring. Last round I wasn't sure at all, but somehow remembered the bollard meta. I was thinking Switzerland or France at first, but changed to Austria due to the bollards. Ended up being my best guess of the game with only 51km off. Brought my total to 18.7k. Second game wasn't that bad either, but bit more back and fourth. First round looked Nordic again, but my guess was a lot better this time (tho still wrong country :D ). Second round I had no idea on the country, guessed in the Alps. Third round was another good guess in Sweden. Fourth I was thinking might be in South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands, and decided to just go with it. Last round looked a bit similar to the third round in first game, so went with that again. Bit worse total score, but still above 18.1k. Third game didn't go that well anymore. Didn't get a single country right, cause I had to pretty much guess every round. Only scraped up 13.4k score. 4th game was real rough. First round I only figured it was southern hemisphere, but couldn't decide if it was South America or AU/NZ. Eventually decided it could be some weird mountain coverage in AU. Second round I read the sun wrong. Third round I was completely lost, thought it looked a bit similar to the previous round. At least got fourth round right, would've been bad if I didn't recognize my own country. Was a bit too south, but by far my best guess of that game. Last round was back to clueless, but at least I guessed the right hemisphere. Didn't even reach 6k score.
It's part of the Amundsen Scott Base at 90°S, I don't think it's placed correctly though because 90°S on mercator is a bit interesting to say the least.
