When I was a little girl my mother watch the Perry Mason Faithfully every day and when I became an adult which is now I watch Perry Mason every morning on Me-TV and then the Perry Mason movie also comes on fetv. So some days I turn from me TV when it goes off and then try to catch the other half of the Perry Mason movie on fetv. LOL I also loved it when Barbara Hale's son had a part on the Perry Mason movie and I was so very surprised to find out he was the guy on Greatest American Hero. I will always be a Perry Mason fan.

I'm fortunate enough to watch the Perry Mason reruns every evening. I say reruns because I watched them as a teenager when they were first runs !! LOL
As I watch them I realize how naive we were about courtroom procedure back then. And the hats that women wore were just hilarious. And just about everybody, including Perry Mason smoked ! Also the inter action between Burr and the other cast members was priceless, especially between Burr and Ray Collins, Lt. Tragg. Lastly the faces of so many characters that I remember from my past. Nameless to me but their faces I'll never forget.
If you get a chance to watch Perry Mason reruns do it, especially if you're old, like me.

The 1960's rerun are aired at 11:30 p.m. and morning at 9:00 a.m. I simply love Burr's character, Perry Mason for his big beautiful eyes and his verbal responses when confronted. Recognition he probably would not have wanted if it meant discussing his past? Marriages, children, and war injuries that nobody seems to be able to verify? Just spit-ballin' here, hardcore lies if that's what they are... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raymond_Burr

    • @idaclaire1869

Brian O'Neil Maybe he told things the way he wished they were. Of course, that would not make it right. He lived in a make believe world and he let it slip over into his personal life. I know about those stories, but they cannot take away from his superb acting ability or all the good he did in the world. Not to mention those eyes and that voice. There is a video on here that is a tribute to Paul Schaber. Raymond Burr is one of the speakers. In his speech he mentions Robert Benevides and calls him his partner. I think he was a beautiful person and I will always love him. He had a few hang ups, but then who doesn’t.

For an actor who looked like he was custom made to spend his life doing beer commercials, he did OK. Burr and Hopper were originally cast to play different roles. Hopper was cast as Mason, Burr as Drake. They filmed a pilot that just didn't work. A film editor suggested they re-shoot the pilot with Hopper and Burr in one another's roles. They did that, and the rest is television history. Hopper, btw, was Hedda's son.

Raymond Burr was great as was all the actors and actresses in Perry Mason.
However, you should watch Warren William in his portrayal of Perry Mason in several movies done in the 1930s.
Intelligent, daring, attorney who did most of his own investigations even though he had a private detective in his employ.
Very, very witty. A real cad. Completely different from Burr's portrayal.

Not entirely accurate. Raymond was most emphatically NOT gay. Friend and business partner Robert clearly was. It was a father and son relationship, Robert addressed Raymond as 'Sir'. Raymond was 100% straight, I have never seen so much testosterone in my life. He was married 3 times, divorced once. 2 wives and son died. He was the most honest man I ever met. Great pity honour and integrity do not sell papers and books!

I met them both, spent an absolutely wonderful time talking to Raymond when he was filming the Case of the Desperate Deception in Paris December 1989. Watched him on set for 3 days. Saw and interviewed him in his hotel suite with Robert Benevedes in background, he was acting as his assistant, dealing with his appointments, putting clothes out etc. Robert addressed Raymond as 'Sir'. Raymond was very kind and attentive to me, even though I was nobody, and gad a wonderful sense of humour. He took time to clarify what my questions were and I have never seen such honesty and integrity in my life, he shone with it. And also deplored the lack of it in others at times. He had a strong Christian faith and God used him very powerfully. Raymond adored women, and they adored him back, but he was definitely NOT 'one of the girls'. I asked if he would write an autobiography, he said perhaps, but not about all the women he had slept with, he would NEVER write about that, and was clearly telling the truth. So, I am talking from personal experience, not fake news stories designed to sell papers and trash an amazing man's integrity and reputation. Robert Benevedes gay, absolutely. Raymond Burr absolutely not. Unfortunately Robert gained attention, kudos and no doubt financially by allowing the story to run and continue, but I have absolutely NO doubt Raymond Burr was straight and incapable of the sort of deception being a cupboard gay entailed.

This is BULLSHIT! This video uses a still of him from "Godzilla" TWICE! And not one mention of the two Godzilla movies he participated in. Ironic considering "Godzilla" helped him get the Perry Mason role and in the 80's he tried to obtain the rights to the Godzilla character.

And not a word about Robert Benevides, Burr's only true love and his partner during the last 33 years of his life? Strange and even more so when you consider that your video is so preoccupied with the wealth accumulated by Burr, and Benevides was the sole heir of his fortune.
