Es verblüfft mich immer wieder, wie Japaner es machen, aus einfachsten Materialien etwas wunderbares zu erschaffen! Ein Mensch aus der heutigen Welt erfasst meist gar nicht, wie arbeitsaufwändig und mühevoll es ist, so ein schönes Lack-Tablett herzustellen! Und er erkennt den Wert solch einer Arbeit auch gar nicht an! Ich schon! Ich bin Antiquitäten-Sammlerin, vor allem Asiatika... und labe mich an der Schönheit dieser Gegenstände...

This is Japanese lacquerware. It’s made from tree sap from lacquer trees found in Asia that’s applied in layers on objects usually made of wood.
