OTOH, I just can't get enough of the bankruptcy music and winner music at the end. I must have listened to it 5 times in a row now.

@@AlexParr You have to always pass GO to get to Mediterranean Ave, so you’ll always be able to pay $2.

Tell me about it. Forget the original Monopoly; this game itself was made before I was even born. I feel it'll still be there(Monopoly, that is) when I'm gone.
The best version of Monopoly imo due to the music and because the aesthetic fits the best to the game. Is also very impressive for the hardware as well.

Yep. It was one of the games that pushed the NES hardware as far as it could go, and one of the best 8 bit versions of Monopoly, in my opinion.
It's by far the best version of monopoly for the third console generation. I have the Master system version and it's incredibly mediocre

The best winning strategy
1: Set up a 2 player game you vs Maude
2: No trades
3: You can only build if all the properties are bought or if Maude builds on them first
4: You must win by bankrupting Maude
When I was a toddler ,y older bros would play this game with me watching, and I haven't seen this since. Its amazing how the brain will still remember all the sounds even after all these years
This famed animation and music was so well done it made it much more fun than the board game and still holds up well now. That said I'm sure the RNG is trash being on the NES. I'm actually curious how it works and if shaking the dice longer actually collects entropy from the human players.

I had the Mega Drive version, but I think the NES version is the best console version out there. Great sound effects, music and the speed of the gameplay is where it should be. The mega drive version was so slow.
I played this alot, recently got it on an emulator and playing it with my wife because it's easier than setting the board up
I remember when I used to play this game with my cousins many years ago, we always made fun of Pennsylvania's truncation and called it Penis Ave and Penis Railroad.

It's not a demand. It's the AI's way of saying, "I want this. What do you want in exchange?" You can do the same thing to propose a trade with the AI.

Actually, in the Japanese version, the voice says "Yareyare yatto de rareta." It roughly translates to, "Geez, I finally got out."
Which version of Monopoly do you like? The GBC version looks identicaly the same as the NES version, but downscaled.
Out of all of them, I like the newest one for Xbox One cause it has online live multiplayer along with different interactive boards. As for the retro versions, I think the NES was the best but I only really longplayed the Genesis version so far.
The Genesis and SNES versions look identically the same considering the graphics, sounds and music are no different than the other versions. I would totally agree with you because the Xbox One and all the other modern versions (on modern-day consoles and board games) were great.

I always found it really chill. Like when you land on chance or community chest you just get this mellow late afternoon sunlight color with a simple drawing of the Monopoly Guy kicked back with his feet on his desk or flying with wings out of a cage while the most chilled out little tune plays, or when you see a giant hammer in just a few hits manifest the whole building you just bought the music is similarly just plain pleasant sounding. These details make me remember this game quite fondly.
Wasn't sure if Jag was gonna come out on top or be taken to the cleaners.

The key to win is buying 1 of the group color, specially the hightest cost. Then you can deal with anyone, try avoiding many auctions.

I was watching a game on the SNES cpu's and some of them went bankrupt to Luxury Tax or Community Chest/Chance.
I hack added this to my mini. Besides the side scrolling & RPG legends, there's only so much NES replayablitity like a Monopoly session. Besides, I don't have to log on to a f'n website to play anymore.
Playing against 7 computer opponents is hilarious.

I miss this game... I got the switch version the other day and it’s just not the same 😞
Is it bad that I like the Switch version more? Seems to have more customization in gameplay. But idk; haven't played the NES one yet. Gonna grab it for 3DS VC inject tho
@@DarianTrinity The NES has many customizable options in it. In fact, it's quite possibly the most complex version of its time. Not many other video game adaptations of board games with this many customizable options at the time.
If they ever release the NES version or the SNES version on the Switch Online, we can do co op if we want to.
Can't wait for the Final Fantasy VII monopoly board game. I think jail is going to be locked in a broom closet with Omega Weapon.

Were these versions even released outside North America? Because if they were, they would of had to change the property names to any international equalivents (The British version using London streets and stations etc, etc.) There is proof that Hasbro's own version for the Nintendo 64 may of possibly came outside of the US.
You got lucky 😋 Halfway through, 9/10 times Arthur or Carmen is winning that game. This was the 1/10 exception though

I loved Monopoly since I was a kid. I had both the NES and the Master System version. I have to admit, both games are vastly different in graphics and game play and I think the NES version is far superior. I always wondered why, when a lot of Master System games were really good, why their version of Monopoly sucked so bad. Made me want to write to the programmers and tell them to f*ck off. haha
