...whatever "natonality" you may think each album sounds like, they sound like Ville Valo every time, at that stage of his life. He knows what's happening in the studio, they don't sneak things by him in order to change the sound of HIM. Ville chooses the producers. He is always changing and evolving, finding his way...even his different looks. Yes, I know there are other members of the band, but realistically, it's mostly a reflection of Ville.
Y'know, I really get tired of hearing people say how American sounding they are now. The Screamworks album is amazing. I don't know how many HIM fans I run into who haven't even listened to anything past Love Metal or Dark Light. Venus Doom was not at all American sounding and was one of their most complex and beautifully written albums. I swear, a band is damned if they do or damned if they don't change. I am a HIM fan for life. I love their music and their style however it changes.
The writing process for them as quoted by the band is Ville writes the lyrics and brings in the "skeleton" of the song itself and they all jam around it until they feel its finished.

I've seen every video there is, and notice that Ville never looks at the guitarist with blonde hair, he turns his back to him and never looks at him. Why? Does he not like him? It's so obvious I just have to ask.
Well, Migge(right guitarist) and Juska (keyboard player) are very good friends with Ville still, at the other hand Linde (the blonde one) and Mika (drummer) don't have a single picture of Ville or band on their IG profiles. They are playing with other small Finish bands and I could see there's been some problems with them, like the band was divided for quite some time

Good performance, excellent. This song has a very sensual rhythm and the lyrics are kind of sad, nice combination, just as HIM is.
