Two absolutely amazing tips I was never taught. 1. The whole white/brown line bit, and how to join the two pieces. I am so happy I stumbled across your vids. I’m about to embark on installing again after a ten year hiatus.

So you installed 10 years ago but were unaware how to prep a seam? I’m confused

I’ve been an installer for 20 years. I do almost exclusively commercial but I’ve done a lot of residential as well. I was always taught that the carpet was supposed to “interlock”when it’s a berber carpet like what you’re working with in the video. This whole time I was taught wrong and never knew. Wow, crazy.

How do you make a cross cut when absolutely necessary?

I just ordered a crain 301 cushion back cutter it's the same as yours but it doesn't have the tightening screw for the blade, the blade slides in and holds and can be easily slid out for less down time.

Looks good, but was wondering where your seaming latex is especially on berber carpet.
