His portrayal of Jay is honestly top level acting. The look he gets in his eyes and the intensity he puts off is perfect.
He's an amazing actor. He is so underrated. The first time I saw him was in Sleepers. Even then he had a lot of talent.

@Grim Reaper I didn't know what to expect, I watched it because I've followed Tucker's career for years and had also recently (at the time) come off watching Parenthood with Matt Lauria, so both of them in a show together I was like yes please. I didn't expect to like Kingdom but it won me over so fast. Tucker is amazing.
Kingdom was originally a show that exclusively aired on directv, the last season airing in 2018.
This guy is such a great actor. He needs to come out in bigger movies. But he's amazing in Kingdom!

I've liked this guy since The Black Donnellys tv series. Good actor. He gives that tough, sweet but a bit creepy and unpredictable vibe to his character.
Yes, finally, someone else tht watched tht show. Tht show was sooooo good. Remember they canceled it after 4 ep. N you had to watch the rest if it on nbc website. It was soooo freaking good. Such a shame.

It's a shame Kingdom is on the channel it's on. The show is amazing, but it's not nearly as recognized as it deserves to be. TBH I'm not even a fan of MMA or have even watched a fight, yet I've really enjoyed the show a lot. If it were on something more well-known like TNT or USA I have no doubt it'd be hugely popular by now. :/
Saucy Sailor I know what you mean, but Audience is a channel that's really coming up in the ranks. This Mr. Mercedes show that's coming up looks incredible. I'd say the real shame is that the Emmys aren't giving Audience and their programming, more recognition.

@@griffin8519 I watched the entire series this weekend on Netflix. I;m 83 & it's the best acting from a man " Jay " that should win every award there is. I thought " Keith " did a perfecto job as did " Ryan ". Favorite series ever.!!

I’ve also just stumbled across this show. It’s one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I’m sad I never knew about it earlier but even sadder it ended after season 3.
All the cast were absolutely phenomenal but Jay’s character portrayed by Jonathan Tucker was truly remarkable. Some of the deepest gripping acting I’ve ever seen and worthy of all awards and recognition available.
Truly mesmerising cast.

I appreciate the fact that Jonathan Tucker was candid about the extreme deprivation, and the accompany emotional toll and mood swings, that happen when someone attempts to get as shredded as he got. People seem to consistently fall for these gimmicks that advertise that they too can be just as chiseled as a professional athlete or Men's Fitness cover model, with this simple program that requires very little sacrifice. The truth is, outside of very few outliers who are genetically gifted, in order for most people to get that chiseled it requires an enormous amount of discipline and sacrifice - to the point that it can alter ones life, and ones day to day happiness.
This show needs more recognition! It's just an amazing series! People need to watch more Kingdom..

I freaking loved this show. The episode of him cutting 30 lbs was a great episode. The most I've ever cut for a fight was 20lbs, but that episode was pretty spot-on as far as what some fighters put themselves through.

When you see the type of training they go through for Kingdom and what kind of character Tucker plays you can see why he can't just let that character go when coming home. And of course he was starving, lol. But he's such a great actor. Kingdom has amazing performances.

I just saw this movie due to the actor that plays Jay. I was quite surprise how the movie was pretty decent for its age.
Me and my younger brother say this. Jonathan Tucker would make an incredible Joker, especially against a Robert Pattinson Batman. It just... fits. I can't describe it. Anyone who has seen Kingdom will agree, that he has the range, the emotion, the acting prose and skill in his craft to portray the Clown Prince of Crime. I mean his character's name is Jay for crying out loud. He would be my pick, or at least be a top contender.
