Gotta listen to Bill Champlain before Chicago. He had some great records in the late 70s early 80s. Truely Badass.

3:22 The most beautiful chord and sounds ever. Especially the sound on "If you see me walking by"

Been following Bill for a long while from the days of the Sons in the cold winters of Omaha to the steamy streets of Keystone Berkeley with Terry, Geoff, Dave and James. He still goes magical places with his voice. Getting better all the time. Joseph has that clear throat like Lukather. Tamara is Bill's fire. Peter studio quality hit song picking.

Unfortunately, this is what Chicago didn't know how to value in Bill.
Bill for the founding members just like Jason was still the ''newbie'' and had to maintain the rules they determined. But Bill's authenticity always surpassed this live and bothered the old ones. In fact, it bothered so many things, no wonder they put the horns in the 80s arrangements and it was musically horrible. Bill always said he wanted to play new songs, new compositions. I once commented on a forum that if Bill and Jason had also joined TOTO, TOTO would have dominated the world in an inexplicable way. The union of the voices of Paich, Lukather, Bill, Joseph, Jason. It would be one of the most incredible things in the world and TOTO would have a wider catalog of music.
Just look at Bill's ability to sing. At the same time he sounds like Joe Cooker with the drives, he puts a Country touch on the falsettos and I remember that a lot of people thought it was Jason's voice in all the verses of You Will Still Love Me.
Chicago lost two of its greatest singers of the 80s

This was on Chicago 18 in 1988 Bill Chaplain was the original singer and the song was written by Diane Warren and David Foster with Bill Chaplain on the vocals, and was the number 1 song for 1989.

@@Jackcapaudio Yeah...she did. But David foster didn't...as the OP said. Foster produced Chicago 16,17, and 18. This song was off 19.

oscar mere I’ve said it a bunch of times, if u don’t like improvisation, don’t listen to live music. U can listen to the albums any time.
