Sureet's reaction is hilarious.... Hey by the way, I belong to Guwahati and I tell you that Assamese cuisines is one of the tastiest cuisines across the country. Amongst the meat, I love Pork followed by Chicken. YEs, Fish Intestines mixed with rice is an important part of our cuisine. I have tasted silkworms and snails but not very fond of it though. 😬 The place where chowmein was shown is called Reboti Chat House, and I tend to visit them once every month.. I love the food there...Joi Aai Axom!!

Well, if you are a clown then, of course, people would scream watching you. There is nothing right about killing pigeons and eating them. Go and read about how they are important for the balance of nature. This is exactly the same thing that got 3 crore Chinese starved to death and turned people into cannibals in 1959 famine.

Trust me Sureet, you may not like the cooking style or how it looks, but you'll definitely enjoy the taste. Also it's much cleaner and safe in homecook than street food. Although I haven't tried any insects yet, but fish intestines, pork, pigeon meat are very tasty.

I'm from South India (kerala). We mostly eat chicken, mutton, beef, duck, sea foods. But seeing these north east Indian foods from Assam was a different experience 😊
I am from and I just only chicken and fish 😆 my friends used to judge becoz they eat pork , duck and mutton.

Even in India, many Indians are ignorant about North Indian food...i am frm east India (Jharkhand) and i did my college in Assam and the in Delhi and it astounds me that people in mainland India are so ignorant abt food frm rest of India, and since i am a tribal person frm Jharkhand myself, we have very similar cuisine to tribal cuisine of North East and thats why i love that place and more people need to enjoy our food

Actually most of the people of Assam are vegetarian including me but there are so many tribe they had variety of non veg food but we mostly eat dal and panner

Yeah eastern India cooking is nothing like rest of Indian cooking, he could have included Bengal in this too since Bengali cuisine is also similar to North Eastern cuisine but very different from rest of Indian cuisine

@@sampadization they are just waiting for approval from their western masters. Lobsters, crabs, oysters were once considered a peasant's diet and majority had the same reaction like the woman here but now they are one of the most expensive items on the menu. Reason? Because the master approved. 😄
I am also from Assam but in my culture no one eat that insect it digusting. I had heard the rumors that the insect is very tasty but i will never ever try to eat. It's totally disgusting for me to eat an insect.
Pigeons are quite common in Assam. People farm em too. Those are not from the streets. Mostly young chicks are used. In my culture it’s consumed as soup with very few spices mostly garam type masalas like peppers, ginger etc. It’s believed to be remedial for colds and flus. I don’t eat meat now. But it used to be a common thing in my family. My family too doesn’t eat it anymore.
