Thanks for the video. Nice setup, our first tractor with a bucket was a scoop on a Craftsman Tractor with a sleeve hitch, the are great useful tractors. Nice job on the bucket!
Thank you. I am going to build this. I am planning to mount shorter stroke dump actuator on one of the ribs on back of blade with appropriate bracket on clamshell.
Yes a shorter actuator will work for the dump. I used the 9” because I had it. Given what a good actuator with at least 500lbs of force costs I don’t mind the extra length.
I think I am going to build something like this, but for the back with a winch powered by a cordless drill I saw on another video. Simple shovel, but saves on the back.
That might work but I question for how long. I can tell you that I have been using the same linear actuators, meaning I actually swap them over, for my snow blower lift (see other videos) for years without a problem and in freezing temps and wet conditions in the winter so keep that in mind because inevitably it breaks when you need it the most. Good luck
Consider the equivalent functionality in "Homemade garden tractor scoop / bucket / Johnny bucket" @ th-cam.com/video/tZZOB8lnfEg/w-d-xo.html Parts list: (a) plow with mount (b) three sheets 10 gauge steel (c) Two hunks rebar. (d) short rope.
The engine is a twin cylinder 27 hp. To see details on the switch box checkout the early videos on my channel which describe why I initially built it and the actual schematic as there are relays behind the buttons
Not always possible. I did this project more for fun than utility give these tractors are really not made for these loads but it turns out it worked amazingly. See the latest update I posted recently on this and other attachments I made for this tractor
Yeah I agree with you the tilt is a better design as you can lift higher and dump a little further however you need more metal, two actuators to lift which means more current draw, a different attachment point under the tractor middle which means the mowing deck may have to come off so overall more cost. Again I don’t dispute the benefits but the tractor is limited so this is s decent design for what the tractor can do and if you are going to mostly move mulch, my intended purpose, this works great. As I already did use this beyond the purpose I built it for I may very well build another one with tilt... just for fun!
Amusingly, modern sears outdoor equipment is mostly cheaply made, flimsy junk. Your attachment might outlast a dozen dead sears "tractors" (lawn mowers, really). Their products target 10-15 years service life for RESIDENTIAL use. There's GOOD REASONS you NEVER see "sears" or "craftsman" run by landscape contracotrs, not even LAWN SERVICES.
thats because the mowing deck can't be finely adjusted to mow accurately like commercial zero turns on the market. Really has nothing to do about being made cheap but more so of lack of options not really needed or desired by the average home owner.

Great design , how practical ? but i am sure you have so much fun building this so call front loader . Thanks so much .
No very but yes this was about building it that’s the practicality although for mulch it works amazing.

Terrific exhibit of "How many parts can you _ADD_ to a design?"
(aka: "Build As _Complicated As Possible and _ADD_ _MORE!_ ")

What size are the actuators? How long do they extend?
The actuators are 6” and 9”. Watch the early videos of this build on my channel and you’ll have all explanations.
How high does it lift or it stationary.
Price ?
This is awesome! You think you can share the hand control for the scoop?
You will find a description of the control box in previous videos on my channel. Thx
Where did you get the pumps and motors and what are they
No hydraulics. They are all 12V linear actuators.
how many horse power is your tractor?
can you show how you did the hand controlled switches?
The engine is a twin cylinder 27 hp. To see details on the switch box checkout the early videos on my channel which describe why I initially built it and the actual schematic as there are relays behind the buttons
I'm interested in the blade on the back did you build it also?
I purchased the rear scraper/grader blade already made a while ago probably from Sears. Lowes carries one now for about $200
2 large shovels full.

What model is your tractor sir ?.
It is a Craftsman DGT6000
Actual model # is 917.276120
Scoop there it is.
Dude next time have the dirt dumped closer to where you want it!!! That will save a lot of time and hassel.

way cool here is mine and got more builds on the way th-cam.com/video/aeSnteenTUU/w-d-xo.html
not really a small scoop😂😂
What a waste i can move more material and faster with a wheel barrel
Good for you but this was a fun project to learn welding and because I can! Cheers.
Plus this doesn't require manual labor which reduces wear and tear on your body. I want to walk when I'm older so this is awesome!
Yeah i know you younger guy's are afraid of manual labor . I walk jest fine and I'm in great shape thanks manual labor.
This is about the 12th video I have seen about lawnmower with a wannabe bucket...seem useless..why bother
