Hey Get, thanks for the support as always. Yes, the group hikes sooner than later. Sure we'll be hiking a few challenges together this year as well. Hope you are well Sir. 👍
Good to see you out wild camping again mate 👍 😁 Very good call with the tent, makes such a difference if you've got plenty of room when the weather's like that!
100% agree. I could listen to rain all day. It's mornings like that you remember the most. Sunrises are amazing but a coffee under a shelter in the rain is so special. Really is.
Good to get out with you again mate. And thanks to the link to my channel. In case anyone was worried, the nav practice went well and I made it back home within a couple of days! 😊
@@soletrail I know well about reigniting the fires, as you responded to another viewer. I’m 77 and haven’t backpacked for more than 30 years but am hoping to do so again this year, or at least take a walking holiday. It’s been a struggle after health issues but … 🤞. Best wishes.
Cheers Alan. Yep, that was one special morning. Pure zen. Sound of rain, porridge and coffee. Nothing beats it. Lots on the way pal Including some Stanley Reviews. I know you like your stainless steel. 👍🤙
Excellent video mate, well done, once I had to bail out from there, pitch black, just my two torches and the sheep looking at me, just there heads following me, they don't even run away!! They must have been thinking "what a lunatic" those cracks are dangerous at night, it took me just over 2hrs to get to the car, another experience in the bag for next time.
Yeah that route down is becoming bad.. a good head torch really comes into play on bail nights. It's the bail nights you remember thou. Cheers pal. Hope all is well.
Nice one Martin, whats the light you using there, was bout the 5.30 min mark? looks tidy! look forward to the group hikes again, be great to be back in the hills ! Best Regards
Martin if you do go to Iceland again will you take this Xenon 2 with you because it offers the weather protection and more room in bad weather or will you take the 1 man Helium again?
That's a tricky one.. 1.8kg isn't too bad for the size of it. All depends on the weight of the bag I suppose. We got lucky the last time in Iceland. The week after our trip was a wash out. It's times like that you appreciate the bigger space. It's a brilliant tent. Have you decided yet?
I’ve actually just today ordered the Xenon UL 2 plus with the even bigger porch! It’s just over 2kg on the trail weight but will be so nice to have that extra room especially for wet gear

Absolutely, the main reason I brought it out. Such a super tent. I still can't believe the size of it for 1.8kg. thanks for the comment.
I love catching glimpses of wildlife. Sometimes, you can look right at them and not see them 🦌🦊
Cheers man. Not as many deer as you see but a few anyways. And the fox. Big bugger. Heard him in the night time hunting. Few random screams.
good to see you up and going again 👍
Cheers Pal.. it's ignited the fires again
Great to see you back out again. It’s really hard to beat the sound of the rain hitting the tent. That looks a cracking spot yous had to pitch up on.

Excellent video again Martin. Sitting in the tent drinking coffee (or is it rum) looking out at the rainy world. Keep them coming for 2024. Legend!!!

Well man. It's the UCO 3 in 1 lantern sent to me by UCO. Very good unit.
@@soletrail cheers bro
What pillow were you using on this trip?
It's a thermorest compression pillow. Very comfortable indeed.
