5:42 it truly is the case, since your method can easily break the clips holding the cap in place. when you remove the mirror itself, you get access to said clips and can unhook them.
I get that, but I managed to achieve the same outcome in much less time. I understand the risk of breaking the clips but I was lucky enough to get it done without breaking anything
Hello, i bought a diffuser and the valance both from maxton. My garage is charging me 150 quid and saying it will take 5 hours for them to install because the clips on bmw's are fragile is this true? If it's not i'd rather just do it myself then like you guys are because theyre saying i have to take off my whole bumper and i dont believe i have to.
@@OllyFK Ah but you have to use a heat gun or blowtorch to bend the clips or something right? I wouldn't be very comfortable doing that myself i thought the thing was designed to just clip on or screw on?
The instructions from maxton say use a blow gun but I’ve seen allot of people screw them, honestly just give it a go you’ll be surprised how easy it is
@@OllyFK Might just give it a go but incase u recon i can squeeze the clip in without using a blowgun if im careful enough? x"D Also where did u pivot the jack on im new to bmw's didn't realise u can jack up from the back makes it easier
Just finished mine tonight. It really bummed me out having to snap the reflectors and make a few extra holes. Mine didn’t clip in as perfect as I’d like either. Baffles me how this hasn’t been tweaked to fit 🤯
@@OllyFK weird question… but if you look at the writing on your reflectors, is it upside down? another thing that bugged the shit out of me 😂 Could’ve genuinely fitted them upside down myself 🙃
Just fitted mine. I had to take the whole rear bumper out to get a proper fitment… took me some time bud its the best result. I took some selftappers and had to cut the reflectors. As it was my first maxton expierence I would not buy it again…. To expensive for this quality !
I especially appreciated the belch near the end.

Nice to see Martin's chickens 🤣
Just a quick one can I ask where you where you jacked it up from was it on the diff or sub frame??
What screw driver do u need to get the bolts of
hi there, just fitted mine today, is ur diffuser touching the rear muffler too? ive got a AK muffler
No it’s not
No wheel chocks or axle stands? 😬
No fear, risk it for a chocy biscuit
Did you not get self tapping screws with it ?
No I think I got bolts with it and I got my own self tappers as they were easier to use

Nahhh don’t bother getting someone else to do it, do it yourself you will enjoy it and once it’s all on it’s very rewarding

Have u got a link to them mirror caps?
Just put it in the description for you mate
@@OllyFK legend thanks, have u had any issues with them?
Nahhh, they’ve been spot on

what diameter exhaust outlet?

Exactly, such an expensive piece of plastic yet we have to snap things to fit onto it and then the fitment isn’t the best. Hopefully them improve it

Currently fitting mine. It fits really good except the reflectors.
But to heat this tabs and bend em is a shitty concept i think.
It really is, makes it almost impossible to take it off without breaking it
@@OllyFK Yes thats true you would have to take off the whole rear.
I don't know what is happening
Maxton is a pain to install. Others have the Clips like the original one
Which ones are easy to install without having to remove the whole bumper?
