What about you do videos about sub cultures in Japan / Tokyo❓ Are these Elvis / Rock'n'Roll dancer still a thing (Harajuku), various Band / music scenes, Idol culture (Idols and fans), Gyarou (or however these sun tainted girls are called/spelled), ... Or interesting places like Shelter (Starry) 😉, Budokan, Spiral Building, Museums, Art Galleries, ...
Hello Takashii, Nice video. I like your style. My favorite style was the woman with the pink sweater and flower pants from Uniqlo Australia. I'm like her, i like to balance dark colors with a few bright ones. Thank you for sharing these videos. I like to practice listening to Japanese. I miss living in japan it is such a beautiful country with kind people.
Hey Takashi you should make this into a series whenever you find cool street fashion. Everybody knows Japanese street fashion is the dopest shit. Remember the magazine booklet “Fruits”? U.S. Nikkei-Jin here showin support Do ur thangthang brother PEACE!!
Yes that blonde haired girl is correct. Koreans are very well dressed but they all dress the same and usually they also have the same haircut but Japan is diverse when it comes to fashion as well as the hair. Ps: that Osaka girl is so beautiful ❤️
I'm a 43 year old black america man, and I used to wear a lot of Avirex back in 1999-2000 year. Avirex is not that popular like it once was in the mid 90's to early 2000's. I bought me some beautiful Japanese demi jeans when I lived in Tokyo. Congratulations on 800K subscribers, and a good video Takashi.
I walked past you when you were filming this, it was my first time in japan and I had been watching all your videos before I left. i couldn't believe it!
I'm in Tokyo right now and have been here for a week long vacation. I'm from America and let me tell you...Americans have NO style compared to the Japanese. I absolutely love people watching here in Tokyo when I'm walking around. A lot of people here are so well put together, neat, clean and stylish. A lot of people here take their appearance very seriously almost like an art form. I appreciate it so much and will be very sad to leave soon back to my city in Florida where almost no one stands out. I believe ones fashion is a reflection of their character and soul. Japan has a lot of both those things.
It's really cool seeing the variety with fashion in Japan. I'm a big fan of Japanese brands like Neighborhood and Girls Don't Cry, so it's interesting getting a look at how people view fashion over there.
The “herd” follows what is the trend. Those who r not afraid to express their individuality stands out of the crowd. I applaud their courage to live their life as they wish in their expression. ...I’m a ppl watcher and find how they dress interesting, inspiring, and spark my imagination to create my own clothes. Kudos to these brave creative pl.
Hi! I don’t think you’ll see this but we met today in shibuya! I was kind of caught off guard and nervous haha so I didn’t say much, but I’ve watched basically all your interview videos and they really helped me to learn about japan and prepare for this trip, so I wanted to thank you :)
I remember buying a sleeping bag from a small North Face store in Berkeley, California in the early 1970s before it became a big corporation selling clothes worldwide. How times change!
Takashii San Congratulations on 800K subscribers 🥳🎊. I love everyone fashion that you interviewed because it was their own and unique style and I admire individuality .
First of all, thank you for the interesting interviews and thank you to the interesting people who were interviewed. The most interesting aspect for me was in fact, hearing Japanese conversation about the subject of clothes and fashion! I thought the comments on how Korean "flashy" style, was currently "in vogue" was interesting to hear and no doubt a reflection of that nation's vibrant culture. Myself, I've always found the minimalist but tasteful, Japanese style (coincidentally the style Takashii prefers too), to be my favourite and another area of Japan I appreciate a lot. It was nice to hear UniGlo is considered a good choice. I also admire Muji for the same reason. Possibly there are other Japanese brands that promote a minimalist or tasteful aesthetic? For example, the small but tasteful detail in Sashiko 刺し子 , is for me to be understated but uplifting in effect.
I like to see these kind of interview. It's super interesting. Also, I loved so much the voice of the girl with pink clothes. Don't know why, I really liked it
Japanese play a lot with colours, textures and cuts, it is indeed exciting for anyone interested in fashion to visit Japan. I also like how people study the styles and history behind the items, understand the purpose and origin of said style and value it. There's a certain gravitas to them cuz thye know what they're wearing and what it reflects, makes them look effortlessly cool
See? I told you guys Japan is a fashion capital of the world. And TAKASHii, I love your personal style! It is sophisticated, but cool. I love the unique ways Japanese people express themselves; whether that's with fashion, art, or hobbies. As an American, I don't try to be Japanese, but I have purchased clothing from Harajuku many times and they're my favorite outfits. I especially like to get my pajamas from there. 😂 I really admired the girl in the video who made a shirt out of ties. I think I'll try that. Or maybe make a whole dress out of ties. 👔🪢👙
Eversince I live in Tokyo, I am loving ( and collecting ) Japan's local fashion brands. My favourites are Sacai, Visvim, Comme de Garcon, Yohji Yamamoto, Junya Watanabe, Evisu. For thrifting, Koenji & Shimo is really the best ! I found a vintage 1990s Gucci fur coat for only ¥100K, Moschino early 2000 LBD for only ¥80K, 1990's Pleats Please by Issey Miyake for only ¥80K.
So interesting, I've always loved the unique and diverse fashion styles of people in Tokyo! I'm so glad to learn through your video about Shimokitazawa, I love thrift shopping, so next time I visit Japan I'll be sure to go check out this area. Thank you so much Takashii, and congrats on your quickly growing channel!
it looks great to see a few more people's faces without masks starting to return to normal! I relate to the girl's mention of design over brands. I'm willing to try something new if it's made well, compliments my frame/wardrobe & has functionality.
That Korean girl has actually express what I thought about Japanese and Korean fashion. Koreans are good in fashion but I've notice they follow a trend or their celebrities fashion which makes them all end up doing the same fashion. Like there's no individual distinctive. Meanwhile for Japanese everyone have their own style. You can differ them from one another. Sometimes Japanese fashion can be extreme and can only be done in Japan.
I'm always so impressed by the fashion when I go to Tokyo. Where I live in Australia people mostly dress for comfort. If I can't wear track pants and a t-shirt somewhere I'm not going.
I'm always amazed how stylish japanese people are. I will I could afford that stuff too. And even until today to me, Takuya Kimura is still the most handsome and coolest man on earth. I still adore his hair style and the way he dressed from 20 years ago! Still holds up
4:24 she is spot on. Fashion in Japan is far less interesting than it once was, I think the 2008 economic crisis had a lot to do with it. People stopped splurging, they didn't upgrade their phones and wardrobe every year etc.
👍Thank you for sharing this video Takashi. The topic of clothing and fashion is interesting. I personally totally agree with people who look at the style rather than the brand. Goodbye and see you soon. ☺️
One thing I found interesting in Japan was the amount of "twinning." People out with their friends in exactly the same outfit. The contrast of conformity of men in suits, women in formal skirts, and students in uniform with some of the more out-there styles was really interesting to me too. Most everyone was way better dressed than where I'm from, though! Here most people wear t-shirts and either simple blue jeans, sweatpants, yoga pants, or even pajamas. Great video Takashii. Oh yeah, what's with all the people wearing heavy coats when it's 22C and sunny out or on a packed train full of body heat? I would die! lol
everytime i go to Japan I am always impress how fashionable people are. to me it is not fashion, but creative looking. any way could make a video of foreigner retirement in japan, and healthcare in japan, visa...
probs my whole wardrobe combined is probably the value of some of these article of clothing, though to be fair i do end up buying nameless things as to no stick out and more often than not its black or navy blue
かんにちわ! I love your videos! I think a good question to ask that I'd personally be interested in would be: How different is the food in Japan compared to your home country? Keep up the good videos! ありがとう ございます😊
Japanese people are really brilliant with their fashion choices. I am the kind of person that doesn't know much about fashion much less what is trending for the season and i just wear casual clothes, nothing fancy lol. As a Mexican myself, we can learn so much from Japan in many things including fashion styles.
Such a great video! Really enjoyed the window into Japanese fashion as someone who loves fashion but hella cheap 😂 The most expensive item I own are my doc martins at £159 and I got that with a giftcard I got from work for working there 5 years 😭 on my own I’ve never spent more than £100 on a piece of clothing. I’m always trying to save for something else (recently a new guitar as my 12year old one died, or holidays - currently saving for Japan 2024), so I always wonder how anyone can afford fancy clothes. Power to ya
I'm a 37 year old white man from the UK, music has influenced what I wear from about 12 years old. So lots of band tshirts and black clothes in general. As I've grown up I'm more into my favourite colours like Burgundy, Grey and still some black. I think its important to know what colours suit you as I went for years without caring until my 30's. It's also important to wear what you can afford, Im not rich so thats why I just bought a jumper from SUTSU and not BAPE. It's also important for me to attract the right woman and not someone too materialistic. On another note I think Japan has more of a pressure for you to buy fashionable items than the UK, especially in city areas anyway.
Can you make a video about video games in Japan? I know Japanese ppl are stereotyped to be always working yet have one the biggest gaming market in the world so I would like to know when do they find the time to play games.
This interview is very interesting. I was just in Harajuku and Omotesando and i really loved the choices there. Would’ve loved to visit the vintage ones too elsewhere in Tokyo. Can you do interview on what the locals think of foreigners’ fashion style? Or maybe foreigners’ shopping experience in those fashion hubs?

Hello Takashi , congratulations for 800k subscribers!! Also, really appreciate your minimalist and simple sense of style. The classic All Black. KAKOI! 😎
I went to Japan in 2019, and, I want to go back this year… And looking for things to do, and how to behave… I found your channel, and omg, I’ve already seen all the videos! They’re amazing 🇯🇵🫶🏻 congrats!
Thank you for your insightful videos! I am a huge fan of Japanese cinema and I noticed many Japanese films and also anime depict bullying among young people in middle school and high school. I have always wondered if bullying really is a big problem in Japan or if this is just for dramatic affect. It would be really interesting if you did a video on this topic. Just a suggestion. Love your videos!
Finally. I only watch this interviews to see what ppl wear lol.😂 I normally use WEAR app, but it's a bit boring cause everyone on the top page wear the same these days. 台灣和中國姐姐好かわいい❤

I have always wondered if bullying really is a big problem in Japan or if this is just for dramatic affect. It would be really interesting if you did a video on this topic. Just a suggestion. Love your videos!
