    hi there, as french i can say that : if you want to meet french people and visit France, never forget : Paris is not France and France is not Paris.
    Seek for small town/village, you will meet France there....and it wil cost you less money (like a lot).
    Of course visit the magnificient monument of our ancestor in Paris/Bordeaux/Lyon etc...but when it done > escape to real France, you will avoid "tourist trap".

    Hi, I am French and I confirm that it is certainly the most beautiful country in Europe and perhaps in the world because it is very varied. The small medieval villages are real journeys through time. Without forgetting the gastronomy, it’s quite a taste journey because each region is different. The advantage of France, which is not a large country compared to Canada or the USA, is that by traveling just a few kilometers you can radically change the landscape and even the climate.

    Such a diverse and beautiful country, and I can personally vouch for The Alps and Riviera as being absolutely spectacular, although I have to say the cable car ride from Chamonix was a challenge, as I’m not entirely comfortable with heights. However, stomach flips aside, and my head going for a swim when I got to the top, it was so worth it for the view, and maybe even added to the memory.
    The Riviera couldn’t be more different, but it’s just as memorably beautiful, and it is my favourite country to visit in Europe.

    If you ever visit Paris, please know that we're not assholes, you just need to start every conversation with "Bonjour". The reputation comes from entitled tourists that think we're here to entertain them when Paris is still a capital, with people working and going on with their lives everyday. We have Disneyland but it doesn't mean Disneyland extends to Paris ! Just start with bonjour, don't be entitled, don't mock our culture and most parisians will be nice and helpful. If they're rushing you, it's because they still have a life, they might be going to work or they might need to rush to get their children after school or something.

    And meanwhile, we dream of the skyscrapers of New York or Chicago in France (not that much in truth). What I noticed during my trip to the USA is that you have breathtaking natural landscapes (in the national parks in particular) and artificial but spectacular cities, but you lack the patina of time to merge natural landscapes and landscapes shaped by man (I flew over the northern midwest and it was depressing. The grid of straight roads which do not respect any relief or other element of the landscape such as rivers, gives the impression that the Americans have abolished nature...). We have this in France, as in the rest of Europe in general and in other "old" countries such as I imagine Japan, China or India. I think that's what fascinates Americans...

    I so love my country. We have absolutely amazing places, castle and monuments in all France. People only go to Paris, but believe me guys, when you are done with the big attractions of Paris, you have to do a road trip around France cause each part have wonderful places full of history and beautiful sight seeing and monuments. I don’t want to be arrogant but France and Europe in general are really really beautiful when it comes to architectures, fairytale like places and so on. we have an astronomical historical and cultural heritage. We tend to forget that as Europeans because it’s under our nose, but we did have the chance to live in wonderful places where you can discover pretty amazing stuff. And as a French native, because it’s my country, I kind of think that I have all the time in the world to explore my own country, and I travel a lot around the world to discover new places and culture, but I do have to say that even I, I’m pretty amazed about the wonderful places that my country has to offered and I get to hear about new places that I want to visit around France every week. I have some notebook where I wrote all the places that I would like to visit in my country when I retire. Since I’m young, I travel around the globe, but when I’ll be older, I will travel around my beautiful country.

    Mind that all you’ve seen here are “just” the main spots. Five years ago I moved not far from Toulouse (south-west France near the Pyrenees) and to this day I am still amazed by all the hidden gems around. There’s plenty of small villages with medieval bridges, market places and churches. Sure you’ve got that elsewhere in Europe like in Britain but it rains more over there. Then yes you’ve got impressive Historical landmarks and culture in Italy and Greece but France has the same only with a perfect balance between great culture, great food, sunny but not too hot weather and fantastic landscapes.

The Calanques is dangerous, lot of people lost there for few days or fell and break something, but really beautiful. For the Mt st Michel you have to be prepare for walking, a lot of tourist have feet problems😅. And on the pyrenees mountain, don’t approch herd garding with big white dog called « patou » because they will bite you. Not sure. My best vacations were at Saint-Rémy de Provence, at L'Ile de Ré and l'Ile d'Oléron and La Rochelle.
      But I have wonderful memories of Cassis and Aubagne, and of a catamaran trip between Hyères, Port-Cros and Porquerolles.
      I went to the Avignon Festival once in my life, it was just magical, and during the same stay, I attended a Ray Charles concert in Antibes-Juan-les-Pins! It's a unique experience.
      And Annecy, in summer and winter, is a wonderful city.
      The youtuber who has visited France has a rewarding way of presenting France, but the youtuber here has a soul and a child's eye that marvels at everything too.
      I mean, wonder depends less on the place than on the way we look at it.
      You can marvel at tombstones too....if you visit the catacombs!

    Autrement belle vidéo où la plupart des merveilles françaises sont répertoriées; notamment avec nos châteaux médiévaux; nos célébres vignes etc .
    La France a un passé historique de dizaines de siècles où l'Europe est née. (le vieux continent)
    La culture de ce pays est incommensurable; des régions à couper le souffle tels que la Provence ou encore la Bretagne.
    On est chanceux de vivre dans un pays avec autant de richesses.
    Les USA c'est chouette aussi mais niveau architecture ça n'a rien à voir vu que c'est un jeune pays d'à peine 400 ans;

    quand vous êtes loin du Mont Saint-Miche,l on peut apercevoir les vagues de chaleur, et vous avez l'impression que le Mont-Saint-Michel est comment suspend dans le vide, c'est très jolie. L'Aiguille Creuse d'd'Étretat, si un jour vous avez la chance d'y aller, allez-y en marée basse il y a une grotte dans lequel les nazis ont construit un tunnel avec une échelle, une fois en marée haute les Allemands étaient en sécurité et les gens ne pouvaient pas apercevoir le trou dissimuler par les eaux.

  • @ringsaphire
    @ringsaphire หลายเดือนก่อน

    "Paris is the hood, lots of poverty..."
    That's social mixity, trying to get every walks of life living together and not segregate by wealth or ethnicity with a program of affordable housing - by law, a mandatory 10% of every new real estates built.
    There are exceptions with some posh upscale districts paying huges fines to the city for not abiding by the law every year just to keep the poor at bay.
    I'd say NYc, Chicago, Miami or LA and SF would have more hobos and drug addicts than Paris (per capita) and their lower middle class and lower have been pushed one or 2 hours away from downtown. But by the time I visited LA and Sf last june of 2024, I had heard a lot about unsafe neighborhoods by US people I met within the past 2 months, but on site, they were nowhere to be seen, having all been expelled and confined to camps (just one step away from being prisons) somewhere else.
    But then, I have visited Camden New Jersey in 2018 and the place was filled with drug dealers, people coming out of jail, and dozens of cops at the bus station just to make sure travelers could pass through in peace - so I saw a glimpse of what "the Hood" would be like in USA (outside of watching tv shows like the Wire). Paris is light-yeras away from that level.
    London and UK in general also have a lot more poverty but they hide it out of the view from the tourists.

    Riquewihr is also the name of a French B1 Bis tank that decided to get rid of the pesky Germans shooting at it from the ditches in the town of Stonne in 1940 by just putting the right track in said ditch and driving forward.
    Butcher of Stonne.

    Paris is pretty bad at times, but Marseille is the real French hood. I've lived in Marseille most of my life and I want to get out. It's also beautiful, some parts of it anyway. But too many problems. I won't even share, people would say I'm bsing.
    Anyway, noticed how the guy avoided Marseille and stuck to Cassis? I can't blame him. If you do come to Marseille, stick to the touristy parts.
    That being said. Thank you for reminding me France is indeed beautiful. I didn't even know about some of these places myself 😉
