In Jakarta, we have 4 different types of train. Commuterline (KRL), MRT Jakarta, LRT Jakarta and LRT Jabodebek. The train you take was Commuterline (KRL).

Dude commuter line is integrated transportation moda there are train: KRL/electricity trains, MRT, LRT, airport train,, and bus: busway, jaklingko, airport bus
Edit:And yes the cars in this video is KRL althought it ex MRT japan
There's also Lokal and jarak jauh (intercity).

These are what you called a commuter rail. But, it also kinda serve as a metro in a way that it serve not only suburb to downtown it's also serving the inner city or inner downtown area. There's also another train called MRT. That thing is what you called a subway system. It runs through Jakarta's most important arteries and connecting north to south as well as the already planned west to east jakarta. There's also LRT system which is essentially a light rail system. The LRT itself is divided into two, there's LRT Jakarta which serve the inner city of Jakarta and there's also LRT Jabodebek which serves the suburb as well as some part of downtown. Those trains were operated by different operators, hence you see the differences among the unit they uses. The commuter rail, operated by the subsidiary of the state owned train company are uses the old JR Tokyo Metro units. The MRT, which jointly operated by Indonesian state owned enterprise and Japan are using Japanese build brand spanking new trainset. The LRT Jakarta, which jointly operated between indonesia and korea uses small hyundai made trainset. The LRT Jabodebek, which operated entirely under the state owned train company, uses indonesian made INKA trains (which also to be the first fully automated train Indonesia ever built and developed). Those are your trains options here in Jakarta. I hope you enjoy your trip and god bless.

That's KRL,...MRT is subway,...LRT is lighter and autonomous,..and Whoosh is 350km/h speed

Metro system in Jakarta consists of: BRT TransJakarta, KRL Commuter Lines, LRT Jakarta, LRT JABODEBEK, MRT Jakarta.. plus JakLinko microbus (serves sub-urban areas)..
Payment system is cashless, 1 card for all system..

its not MRT, it's a public transportation train that operated by KAI called "commuterline". But you also need to experience the real MRTand the brand new LRT in Indonesia, its astonishing not gonna lie ;)
