It's too bad you don't have Canadian Store "Giant Tiger" in the U.S. I got a few night gowns there "Carisma" brand name which go up to a 3X. I can wear their clothing in a 2X and I am sure you could too. I bought another gown with little cardinals on a branch all over the gown. I thought it was a "Carisman brand" as well but no, it was a Penman's. Wal-Mart sells that brand name as well. Anyway, they are SO soft to the touch and so warm. Love them. I like GT's Lily Watkins clothes for women as well. I can also wear 2X in her line as well. People call "Giant Tiger" the GTBoutique which I just heard about recently. The prices are VERY reasonable and they have things for the house and food and clothes for all family members. The stores are all across Canada (Canadian business only).

You have great decorating skills, a lovely home and your hung stocking are SO cute and creative. I love Rebecca's and Lulu's. I liked the buffalo plaid and black sleeves. I myself, love long sleeves here in Canada; especially when the material is SO soft. In the summer, I can go with "spaghetti straps" or short sleeves or sleeveless. I hate how they show these gorgeous models modeling the clothes and when you get your size and try them on....well something's not the same. Like you and I both experienced they were too short. I am only 5.5 AND 1/2 (every inch counts) and they are still too short. C'mon. Of course pretty much everything comes from China to our amazon. Those lovely people are SO petite and small frame etc. Their sizing is 2 or 3 sizes smaller than what we call 2X or 3X or more. Again, Red is your colour and I liked what you picked out in red. I was disappointed that the black t-shirt that came with the buffalo plaid shorts was SO short. You could probably buy a black t-shirt that is longer and wear it with that, instead. That's what I would probably do. If I am not expecting somebody to come over, I can and usually do wear my pajamas/night gown all day. They are SO comfy. I am retired and it is just I and my husband and two cats and we live at the back of the house so the people facing the street wouldn't see me. You go girl! whatever you feel comfortable wearing that is NOT outrageous and showing what your Mama gave you; go for it! Keep on being you, you don't have to apologize to anyone. xoxo

Your housecoat comment about your mom reminded me that my mom, who passed away when I was 30, always wore housecoats too. I can totally see her sitting at the kitchen table, drinking her coffee, playing solitaire with actual cards, and wearing her flowered housecoat. Thanks. Oh I love that “cookie” long gown. But I’m with you, not to sleep in! Same as the buffalo plaid gown. So cute! The lace on the shorts would probably irritate me. And that housecoat style is totally me. I don’t like the bother of times so zip me up anytime. For pajamas I love brushed satin. I use flannel sheets all year long and found that satin means I can turn over at night and not leave the pajamas behind. Other fabrics cling to the flannel. The brushed satin is harder to find but it gives you a warmth in the inside instead of the coldness of satin. Not hot, just comfortable. Years ago, before I knew I needed them, I found some at a local department store one Christmas and bought myself a couple of pair. They were Miss Elaine brand and apparently are only in the stores around Christmas. I did find some on their website but resented paying $85 for a pair. Finally, with Googles help I found some at the Vermont Country Store. Totally surprised me but I ordered two nightshirts, knee length, from there, and I love them. I also found the Miss Elaine brand locally on sale for half off so picked up pajamas again. I allot only one drawer in my chest for pajamas so no more new pajamas until I wear more out. And they last sooo long. It’s a challenge. LoL! Another fun video Meridith! Thanks for the share! I watched the first half earlier this morning and then realized I had to scoot out the door to go deliver Meals on Wheels! Have an awesome time on the farm!

For years I volunteered only as a fill in and usually did one or two days a week and I loved it being that way. I’d meet a variety of people and wasn’t committed to one day and time. At that time we were delivering hit meals to everyone. Then Covid hit and they switched to weekly deliveries of frozen meals, even providing microwaves to anyone who didn’t have one. I kept getting calls to do this one particular rural route because the usual volunteer was out with her sick husband and most volunteers don’t feel comfortable doing routes in the suburbs much less in the country. Finally I told the coordinator that I’d just take this route because I knew I was going to be asked to do it anyway. It has less people on it than more routes but covers many more miles, which I don’t mind. I’ve gotten to know the recipients better and even count in one for my weekly 20 second hug because short hugs don’t create the same dopamine hit! See how selfish I am! Most need the visits far more than the food so I try to meet that need too. I know you’d love this and that the recipients would love seeing your beautiful smile! I look forward to hearing about your new experience! 💖💖💖.
I got goosebumps reading this!! You really are amazing! We cannot do any route consistently yet because of school (for R) and work (for me) but on Holidays, we absolutely can! I shop for night gowns in the men's big and tall t-shirt area at the big box store. I love a Huge t-shirt for comfort and durability. I don't enjoy slick fabrics as a general rule and especially at night, too much static cling etc. That said, I Loved the Christmas cookie gown, super cute!

That is a good idea- I have offloaded a lot of my cookie gear, but I can didn’t lose the cookie skills. Let me think about how to do it.
one problem with pajamas the fabric is not a natural fiber most of us need cotton since you can get hot when you sleep.
I completely agree! I can do synthetic if they are short sleeve, but long sleeve polyester will wake me up sweating!
