If you listen carefully it would seem Mark isn't always alone when he records the voice-overs because someone laughed at his comment just after he said it! :D
My dentist as a kid had the Vectrex for kids to play while they waited. It was the only place I had seen one ever before. I always will remember those curious little machines...
The Vectrex is awesome. Mark Can't believe you have not reviewed more consoles or computers. Such as commodore 64, zx spectrum, amega 500 etc etc. Just got my hands on a zx spectrum 48k Cant wait to play some manic miner.
One of the greatest original games on the Vectrex, and definitely the one with the coolest overlay by far. You just can't own a Vectrex without owning Cosmic Chasm - That is not logically possible and doing so would create a massive crack in the fabric of reality.
Wow. That's pretty impressive for a game from that era. Also... Something about the way it plays makes me think of the mid-90's game 'descent'... (In which you navigate some kind of flying ship through underground caverns, blowing up robots.)
I've been waiting for this one for a while now. "Cosmic Chasm" (along with the light pen game) were always my favorites on the Vectrex! Although I never noticed until now that the central core reminds me of the OCP logo from "Robocop."
this is one of my favorite Vectrex games!! I just picked up a copy myself. :-) Other favorite vectrex games are Minestorm, fortress of narzod, scramble, and Vector Pilot (homebrew game and my favorite :) ).
Yeah I know Descent, I played it back when it was new :) I meant more like Brain Games's Maze of Galious remake, or how Oolite is a modern version of Elite. I guess I could always find a Vectrex emulator.
Hey, this actually looks pretty cool! It should have been rereleased on some other console across time. For anyone interested, it was made into an arcade game, so you can play it with MAME... which I'm just about to do now :)
Unless you have an USB pad, then no. Controlling the ship is much harder with a keyboard. It's in color, though. And it's free, so it's definitely worth at least one play.
I've been a hardcore gamer since 1990 when I was 5 and never heard of Vertex before today. I can see now why I've never heard of this piece of outdated for the period garbage.

No better way to start the morning than with a vectrex review. Thank you sir for all the videos! Keep them coming!
Mark's reviews of Vectrex games are my favorite of all his reviews.
Damn I love your Vectrex reviews. Just come back and do that!
By far the deepest Vectrex game. Great review as always. I just found my whole set of overlays in my parents' attic last week. Woohoo!
Love these reviews. Vectrex rules. They should re-release these classics on the VC.
Dude, that is one of the best shirt's I've ever seen in my life.
Cosmic Chasm was first released on the Vectrex in 1982 and then in the arcades in 1983 by Cinemtronics with some changes.
My dentist as a kid had the Vectrex for kids to play while they waited. It was the only place I had seen one ever before. I always will remember those curious little machines...
the way this console has been made is so ... original and really outstanding compaired to ALL the other consoles on the planet

Yeah! It's really a cool system! And you should see it in person. It impossible giving justice to the vector screen by filming it!

the vectrex isn't even outdated today, it's awesome and still the only vector graphics based game console around
Vectors of awesomeness ! I need a Vectrex add on module for my colecovision !
No, you need a Colecovision Add on Module for your Vectrex!
A great return to form now we just need some turbografx love and classic game room really will be the classic game room
The Vectrex looks like such fun I have to get one.
I literally just ordered this game because of this video lol. It looks like a really fun game with a lot of replay value.
YES ANOTHER VECTREX REVIEW :D
I used to have a Vectrex, it was awesome.
Wow. That's pretty impressive for a game from that era. Also... Something about the way it plays makes me think of the mid-90's game 'descent'... (In which you navigate some kind of flying ship through underground caverns, blowing up robots.)
Ps3 and 360 can only dream of this level of awsome.
Used to play this at my Grandparent's when I was young, great review!
I've been waiting for this one for a while now. "Cosmic Chasm" (along with the light pen game) were always my favorites on the Vectrex!
Although I never noticed until now that the central core reminds me of the OCP logo from "Robocop."
This game seems WAY ahead of its time. I wish there was a modern remake.
this was hilarious. Nice job Mark
Oh wow, this game actually looks fun, I actually want to play it!
I'm tempted to pick this up just so I can do some drilling and thrusting.
this is one of my favorite Vectrex games!! I just picked up a copy myself. :-) Other favorite vectrex games are Minestorm, fortress of narzod, scramble, and Vector Pilot (homebrew game and my favorite :) ).
It's a great machine indeed! Cool review by the way.
This makes my life wonderful. I will preserve my force field.
Yeah I know Descent, I played it back when it was new :) I meant more like Brain Games's Maze of Galious remake, or how Oolite is a modern version of Elite. I guess I could always find a Vectrex emulator.
Reminds me a bunch of the classic arcade game "Reactor" :)
Love that game so much.
Days like these when I wish I had a Vectrex.
Hey, this actually looks pretty cool! It should have been rereleased on some other console across time.
For anyone interested, it was made into an arcade game, so you can play it with MAME... which I'm just about to do now :)
looks awesome for an early 80s game
anybody else notice Marks favorite games begin with Cosmic
If I've ever got more money than I know what to do with I will hire you to port every game to the Vectrex!
It's a game review and useful advice in bed. CGR covers so many bases.
All hail the allmighty Vectrex.
So much complexity for several k. It really should be ported to something modern.
Looks like a really cool game.
so thats a vectrex.... never seen one b4, pretty sweet...
2:47 Wait let me write that down, it might come in handy later in life.
Unless you have an USB pad, then no. Controlling the ship is much harder with a keyboard. It's in color, though. And it's free, so it's definitely worth at least one play.
God damn it I want a Vectrex!
Thexder for the Vectrex! Who's on it?
All of this drilling and thrusting reminds me of a different kind of game I like to play...
My Canadian girlfriend has blast processing and is formed in vector based graphics.
Cosmic Chasm of Lord Karnage Electric Bugaloo, on the Vectrex 2084
Best video game title ever.
Wow, this game is pretty cool.
In my opinion Cosmic Chasm is one of the most complex games on Vectrex.
How can 1 person not like this. Smh.
Why you no review 'Syndicate' for PC? the 1994 one.
This game is HUGE!!!
i like this show its funny and fun an it has humor
Is it just me, or does his gun sound EXACTLY the same as the bubbles in Milons Secret Castle?
All hail the mighty vectrex...!
Haha, I played this yesterday and didnt have the overlay. So I had no idea what was going on.
Mark cares about our eyeballs.
It's like asteroids had a love child with reactor.
LOL THE T-SHIRT
I wonder if Descent was inspired by this?
you could always try decent, its 90's but newer then that, and pretty much the same type of game, just with a cockpit view
What if widescreen was never popularized, and instead the tall screen like the vextrex took off?
Secnd... KEEP THEM REVIEWS GOIN
You fly a Y-wing?
so how r u guys?
I wonder if this game influenced the creation of Metroid.
Great game!!
Your mom has a Cosmic Chasm. Oh! *snap*
COSMIC CHASM prequel of COSMIC CARNAGE?!
I once saw this for sell in a backyard sale but I was on my bike with no money. Worst day of my life.
pretty interesting fact :)
Wow really great game for its time, shit i'd play the fuck out of this today if I had a Vectrex.
thats because you dint see mine yet!
sounds like the game is on life support
I own that game
CGR, best viewed drunk.
Or not, either is good tbh.
Whoever disliked this video, I hope only bad things happen to you.
so close brah :)
looks vaguely like Space Dungeon. and love the unintentional sex jokes
Thexder should be on the Vectrex! VEXDER!
#Thextrex needs to happen.
With a Vectrex
My next rocket in kerbal space program will be called the intergalactic space arcade.
22nd!
Cosmic Or-casm?
very nice game O_O
I've been a hardcore gamer since 1990 when I was 5 and never heard of Vertex before today. I can see now why I've never heard of this piece of outdated for the period garbage.
The game is a pale ghost of what it can be if you play it without the overlay.
If it is on the vectrex
then mark owns it
Ganhei. =)
Then Nokia N.Gage will be a successful phone/gaming system.
Innuendo bingo!
u should, its a good game :)
this is a good game, i own it :D
O damn didnt realize i was the 100th viewer
"Cosmic Chasm," eh? I didn't know they made a game about my ex.
Damn auto spell correction on this phone!
