I remember when I was in highschool, I saved up all year as a bus boy and purchased an Esslinger head. I do not believe it was the ARCA head, (If I got that right unsure about the acronym.) I think that because the head had the stock bolt pattern for the intake and exhaust. Man oh man did that thing wake up after putting that head on it!! and the weight savings from it were enormous. If I get back into Merkur's, which I really do want to, Im going to start researching just how difficult it would be to get a billet piece of aluminum, carve it out similar to a Volvo head, but with ARCA style ports, (Even though its N/A intended, I found what works for N/A will work better with turbo as far as flow goes.) I miss this scene so much. The most favorite car I've ever owned. Man was that thing fun.
Do they still make Esslinger heads? I think they outflow a “stock” Volvo head, but I bet if you ported and polished a Volvo head and got custom ground cams from like Comp Cams, it’ll flow maybe better?
A while back I emailed Esslinger to ask if they would consider again producing an aluminum head (due to the shortage of good cores). The response was "stay tuned." So far nothing.
I lived near Lima Oh for years and figured I couldn't convert the millions that were calling it Leema so just ignored it, they didn't listen to me when i corrected them anyway ! I got bigger fish to fry but yes you are correct !!!

"Dummy head" for practice
That is not a Lima head. A Lima head has two spark plugs per cylinder.
Ah, yes actually there is a twin plug version that came out on the Ford Ranger in the late 80's or early 90's. So both versions exist. Thanks
@@jameswieler3295 Catnip got served lol
That's why they call it dope.
@@johnpryor3254 I rather smoke “dope” than be a moron💭😂.
Earlier had 4 plugs up to about 95 - 96 - 98 - later had 8 plugs
