Especially when that's theoretically the last ship who'll come that way in god knows how long. We were shot down from much higher; the Sunbeam was shot from point-blank. The odds of them having survivors is not great, especially if they landed in the void, which it looks like they might've
My first time playing through I though the Sunbeam was going to be a “End the game now” type of thing so I went around and explored the island before the Sunbeam even arrived. If you don’t activate the radio and cure yourself and disable the cannon when it’s time for the sunbeam to arrive the will give a radio message saying they can’t land because of a debris field
@@numbunni9414 It would be kinda cool if that was an alternate ending, sort of like a speedrun thing. Like, you could either progress slowly/normally and the Sunbeam dies, or you can brute-force curing the planet and escape with the Sunbeam crew
It used to be if you weren’t on time they would say there is too much debris in the atmosphere and they couldn’t land. They would apologize and continue on their way.
On my current play through (which is my first so don’t spoil in the reply’s) I got to the sunbeam landing site about 15 minutes early. I decided to investigate the building out of curiosity since I was being rescued loot wasn’t a concern. I got to the part where the control for the gun is. And it said “Infected individuals cannot disable the weapon” the moment the building started transforming when the sunbeam was landing, I knew it was doomed.
I accidentally died of no water or reverse drowning whatever you call it on the island a few minutes before, and while I was half way to the island, I just saw Sunbeam get blown up and I just swam around awkwardly and went back to my life pod.
"Reverse drowning" 🤣🤣🤣 That could only happen if water was being teleported into your stomach continuously as you vomit water continuously until you die from not being able to breathe. "Dehydration" is the word ur lookin for lol.
watching for afar is much more scarier cause you dont get the inmediate "oh look at this big cannon next to the landing spot" its a "oh im getting off of this is..." and it gets shot down
Also if you somehow cure the karaah and disable the gun before the sunbeam arrives they will say that there is debris in the way and they can’t find a way through it, I found this out by seeing how fast I could beat the game in creative
i thought the game was going to end early if i had gone there so i didn't, and as soon as i saw the sunbeam getting annihilated i realized that im a fool and lost the opportunity to visit the place lmao

It doesn't. It use to in the older patches but since the game is fully live now if you disable the gun before sunbeam arrives the ships captain will tell you theres to much debris to land

I think maybe if you go to the island asap, before you get infected, you might be able to shut down the machine. Then you should be good to go when you get the radio signal. I've heard that people have beat it in about 46 minutes.

wow i've never seen what it looks like when you miss the sunbeam. i should miss it more often cus wow that looks amazing and i really like the PDA reading out different detections and all that
Wow the developers really wanna kill the sunbean
sunbean
Sun bean lol
My first time playing and this happened I was just thinking like “not what I do? ion know” such a eerie feeling after that, the silence and realization that it’s not going to be easy
MAN i love this game developers
Same they did an amazing job at making this game
@@sawh2244 yeah, and that with unity
*Looking for resources in the cave 200m from the surface at the landing point*
"Survivor, we see you!"
They just have really good eyesight. JK, they have x-ray hacks on and should be booted from the server
The first time I played the game I was like "yes I won!" But then the ship got shot by a laser then i gave up and never played again
I played through for the third time and realized there's a translation (once your infected) that reads "The infected ones cannot turn off the weapon" so no matter how hard you try, you won't be able to turn of that weapon :(
If you don’t activate the radio and cure yourself and disable the cannon when it’s time for the sunbeam to arrive the will give a radio message saying they can’t land because of a debris field
Kind of dumb considering the vastness of Space. They very well coule have gone around
@@DrHundTF2 exactly. There's also a second island. There's no reason why they couldn't have landed. The devs should work on that
@@numbunni9414 It would be kinda cool if that was an alternate ending, sort of like a speedrun thing. Like, you could either progress slowly/normally and the Sunbeam dies, or you can brute-force curing the planet and escape with the Sunbeam crew
@@numbunni9414 The laserbeam can deflect on the atmosphere and hit everywhere, that wouldn’t work
It used to be if you weren’t on time they would say there is too much debris in the atmosphere and they couldn’t land. They would apologize and continue on their way.
Pretty sure thats the response for if you dusable that Quarentine AA gun
i remember crying when this happened
Imagine if sunbeam was like:
-Yo where tf is he
-Idk probs dead
-Lets get outta here lol
"energy discharge detected. Vessel Signature lost" No shit, sherlock
OOF. F in the chat for the Sunbeam. Hope you're having fun with the game ^^
@@bengal4047 I am I have made it to the

The lava zone
@@Obi_Wan_Kenobi_027 did you ever beat it?
I missed the sunbeam so I was shocked when watching other people's playthroughs lol
I accidentally died of no water or reverse drowning whatever you call it on the island a few minutes before, and while I was half way to the island, I just saw Sunbeam get blown up and I just swam around awkwardly and went back to my life pod.
"Reverse drowning" 🤣🤣🤣
That could only happen if water was being teleported into your stomach continuously as you vomit water continuously until you die from not being able to breathe.
"Dehydration" is the word ur lookin for lol.
@@killwalker ahh yes, thank you! Also, reverse drowning sounds absolutely terrifying 😳
watching for afar is much more scarier cause you dont get the inmediate "oh look at this big cannon next to the landing spot" its a "oh im getting off of this is..." and it gets shot down
I appreciate the fact that they at least tried to rescue me even tho im only 1 survivor
Agreed. They could have easily said 'sucks to be u, lol' and claimed that they investigated the distress signal, but everyone was already dead
That is honestly so much cooler and ominus than how it is supposed to be played out.
Sunbeam: setting down in 10, 9, 8...
Laser: and I took that personally.
The alien tower is just a controlla playa no questions asked
Lol

@@ΦανήΜέμη oh ok np
That’s quite interesting. I never missed the sunbeam but i once got it being destroyed twice in one playthrough... didnt know what was goin on there
if your in the jelly shroom caves there's like an underwater earthquake and the water blows you around and shite
I love how the sunbeam is just a plot device to make sure you found the laser to disable. Lives were sacrificed for coordinates
I’m data entries, it says the QEP can curve its shot around the planet meaning that you can possibly be on the other side of the planet and still get hit.
i heard that you can disable the gun so the sunbeam really lands.
I’m pretty sure if you manage to disable it the sunbeam just doesn’t land and a voice line about them being unable to land
@@sawh2244 the can't even go to the atmosphere because of the debris field caused by the aurora
You see it when you take off and the metal thingies hit the top of your rocket and one of the panels falls off
@@legitimate8463 In the end cutescene when leaving the planet the rocket when approaching the debris field activates a shield but a panel does fall off but the rocket still functions and you still escape
there is a video about it, but anyway even if you disable it, sunbeam will be shooted anyway beacuse game devs wanted you to suffer with building rocket
See I think that’s actually cooler of an idea, because it would send you to the island in curiosity instead of being told to go: for example, I would want to know what a giant damn laser is shot from
I love how even when the gun is powered down it still shoots the sunbeam
It doesn't. It use to in the older patches but since the game is fully live now if you disable the gun before sunbeam arrives the ships captain will tell you theres to much debris to land
I never went to the landing zone, thats the only perspective ive seen
I finished the game 4 times and i still never missed the sunbeam, thx for showing me
lmao same, tho I am shocked to see I still had not seen everything of this game, I never even thought of missing the sunbeam
When I saw the Sunbeam explode a couple years ago. I actually Cried
i didnt even need to watch this video cuz i was too scared to swim to the island
Gives you a scale of just how big the sunbeam is.
Maybe half of Aurora.
@@duquedecaxias1104 it is really not that huge. Look at the cockpit - it is kinda big in comparsion to the whole ship. I think Sunbeam is just like 40 meters. It is massive, but not in a ship scale
Or maybe Aurora is not as huge as I think?
U.P.D. Aurora IS huge, it is like 1300m
I remember on my second playthrough I was in the caves on the island you know just breaking up in some rocks getting resources and I hear the Sun be come down and I hear a giant boom and I thought welp there goes the Sunbeam
I miss it when i was first time playing and nothing happend, just time is going into -
the explosion actually looks cooler from further away
pretty sure that there is either a version or you can do something to prevent the sunbeam getting destroyed
if you cure yourself before the sunbeam arrives you can disable the gun but the sunbeam will say there is debris in the way.
sunbeam: dont be late
this guy: lol
You get a subscription. You earned it for showing me this. I've never done it before.
"Energy discharge detected"
Meanwhile sunbeam being absolutely fucking evaporated:
That is infinitely more terrifying. Something about not being able to see the “building”
After reading this if someone didn’t know about this building they’d probably think it’s just some very big leviathan or something that shoots a laser out it’s mouth and that would definitely be terrifying
@@sawh2244 the ocean is a scary place
@@Nova-jw6ju I agree as humans we haven’t fully explored all of the ocean and they’re still discovering new species which is pretty incredible little unrelated story after I played subnautica and killed my first reaper leviathan I kinda just got used to seeing creepy stuff in the water and shrugged it off
“energy discarded detected”
you dont say
SUNBEAM: shoots down ship
Me: "When it has beam in the name I don't think you should land near it...??"
It's a bit strange how big the Sunbeam is if you miss it. According to the Wiki, the Sunbeam is almost the size of the Aurora if you miss it, and that's just insane. I understand that it is like that so that you can still see it, but I think that's a bit overboard.
*What happens if you miss the landing site*
*Sunbeam gets shot down*
Looks like sunbeam was the one to miss the landing site
I think maybe if you go to the island asap, before you get infected, you might be able to shut down the machine. Then you should be good to go when you get the radio signal. I've heard that people have beat it in about 46 minutes.
Actually, if you do manage to do that, Sunbeam doesnt land anyways, and you get a secret third dialogue. I wont spoil it for you but you can look it up.
To get that Ending, you must have the experience of what to do.
Starting the game and swimming directly to the island will not work....i tried.
Ya, I saw other people talk about it. It's pretty easy to find, it's the big cloudy area northwardly.
“Energy discard detected.”
YOU THINK?!?!?
Ever time the sunbeam gets shot down I hear a roar in the distance do all near that to
I feel like I'm the only onw who was waiting for the gargantuan leviathan to show up.
