  • Did you lose your missing samples? Here is a way to prevent that from happening again in Quick Tips #1
    Its very important to first select your record location before you start recording audio into your session. By doing it this way it decreases the chances of your audio getting deleted.
    If you are working with multiple artists or doing multiple projects you don't want all your recorded audio being sent to the same folder!

    This seem like more of how to prevent missing samples versus how to fix the fact you have missing samples...

    • @jonaudio
      @jonaudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct. It's always best to prevent this error from occurring in the first place. However the problem can be resolved by pointing FL to the location of the sample directory (folder) where the missing samples are located.

    good one, i I normally create a zip project file where everything gets saved and if I see that I have los file on the main project flp I just extract the zipe file and run the project from there. it works like magic.

    Okay but what if you have 200 songs that got saved to the desktop? I just copy yhe desktop?

    • @jonaudio
      @jonaudio  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Depends on where the audio was saved to. It might be somewhere in your documents folder and the flps are on the desktop

    • @zacharybrown5150
      @zacharybrown5150 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @jonaudio I just copied 600gigs from the whole desktop.
      I've encountered this issue with Reaper where missing files would appear hidden in the desktop.
      Fruity Loops is a good DAW.
      But there are a couple functions in Reaper I simply haven't found in FL and I've been using FL for 15 years

      @@jonaudio Running automation is 100X easier in Fruity Loops because you can lay multiple automations, particularly Volume and Panning.
      I like to click the icon that allows me to drag my mouse and make 100s of points by dragging.

      everyones situation is different if they never set up their session to have their audio stored in one localized folder for each project, so preventing it with this method will always help to keep things backed up and able to be found. I'm glad I helped with 50% haha, hope you're doing well!!

    New to your channel just Sub to it. I've been looking for this type of tutorial for quite some time. I'm so new at this (beginner) and I have lost a project that I was working on. One question I do have for you is. How to I open projects under the heading "My Projects"? I will certainly try this for most of my Project is in the Red. Do I have to do this for each sample? Thank You so very Much.

    • @jonaudio
      @jonaudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sry for the late reply but I would suggest to open projects from the File menu, I've always gone that route and never had an issue. If all your samples are located in one folder, then you should only have to point FL to that folder and you should be good.

    • @jonaudio

      Most times when samples are missing is because of poor file management and the samples are either being recorded to one folder on the C drive as opposed to organized sessions with their respective folders for audio.
      Or if a sample library was used this shows how to navigate to the folder.

    • @jonaudio
      @jonaudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear that man, generally when you get that error, FL studio is looking for the samples is the last directory they were in. You may have to point FL to where that is. I would suggest to manually look in that folder and see if the samples are still there. If they are, then you're in luck and you can add that folder to your settings menu. If the samples are not in the folder, and you can't manually find them, then I'm afraid they may be lost. If at anytime you happen to find the missing samples, you can either copy them back to the original folder, or alternatively add them in the settings menu. Hope you're able to get your samples back!
