I'm shocked that there are NOT more comments about this very good pragmatic review of the 2 models and their differences. Well, I just got my new 2022 Acura MDX in Fathom Blue Pearl (yes, the paint is like the Fathoms of the sea.....different sheens are evident in different lighting ) with a Graystone Interior (I'm not afab of Black , heat generating interiors). Even though I'm going to be 70 YO in October, getting this new car has left me almost as excited as a 12 year old at XMAS !! I had the 2019 MDX Advance ( my new one is an Advance too), this new one is just about Head Over Heels over the 2019. The new suspension Platform / Suspension enhancements are Immediately apparent in the Handling , soon as You pullout of the Dealer's Lot... and the new 10 speed AT is responsive with no gear hunting that I can experience. The SHAWDY has been upgraded too.... complete real Torque Vectoring. It's not a Sport Sedan, However, even in Normal Driving Mode in D , she drives great; but put the driving mode into Sport and select DS on the tranny, and you will experience sport sedan like handling, throttle response, steering enhancements... I don't use the word LOVE - it is reserved for People / Family - so I will say I Really LIKE this car.

Thank you soo much for sharing! I test drove 2020 advance when my 2016 tech package was in the shop after it was vandalized ( no mechanical incidents) I love how it drove. The transmission was much smoother than the 2016 .

Oh , what was the color of your tested MDX: Fathom Blue wuth a graystone interior? It was difficult to tell on the video? The MDX I drove was that color combo. I'm in Westchester County, NY. I can't recall e er seeing that Blue on a MDX anywhere on the road. You can't get the Graystone interior except with the Silver or Blue colors. The Silver is a pass for me. The Graystone interior is spectacular on the new 2022. I wants It !!! Be well, keep up the good work.

Oh the blue and grey stone is definitely my favorite combination! But no, we had the black pearl with the parchment. Not either of our favorites. But can’t be too picky with leftovers from 2020. I’m a deal hound so color does always matter (but I do like offbeat colors to be different). Based on the colors you mentioned, I like your style!

Hey guys nice comparative review. Agreed, if you can "live" with the dated infotainment dual screens, which as an owner of a 2019 MDX Advance, in Canyon Bronze with the Espresso interior , upgrading to the new 2022 for an extra $8k may not be the best money spent. I have been teased by a Acura offer of $1k Loyalty incentive for an early lease termination. My lease expires June 2022. With only 20.8 k miles on the car, it has equity in that , the dealer payoff vs. The sales value of the car. 3 dealers estimate $3k equity. I test drove the 2022 MDX Advance. It is absolute Top Shelf SUV. It handles better, a bit more roomy, more luxurious interior, lots of digital enhancements, a upgraded 10 speed AT, a fantastic HUD , power thigh seat extenders , more comfortable front seats, different drive modes including a Individual customizable one, upgraded LED lighting and an available customizable Light Show for the interior. And a full panoramic full roof sunroof. So you would need to weigh whether these Goodies are worth the $10k to $18k . The 2019 and 2020 I believe are exactly the same. You could buy mine retail used for say $42k for example... so that's $20k difference. At 69 yo, i don't need a 3 row SUV, I am retired and only making 2 - 280 mile round trip visits to grandkids 2x a month and daily jaunts to local market, etc. I saw your 2021 RDX review. Test drove that car too. Great handling, and more sporty, but more snug inside, and more noisy. Funny, as I write this comment, I am convincing myself to sell my car for $42k +/- , payoff my lease at the non dealer cost of $38k, and use that Equity for a new RDX or MDX with Advance Packages !!!

Thanks for the compliments! I would at very least see what vroom, and carvana offer for your current MDX since you have relatively low miles. If they cover the “buy now” price then I would see what my options are to move into something new, with the posed incentives. Also look at local brokers to see what prices and fees they have for new models. You might be surprised! Good luck!
