I think Bugs Bunny is how I discovered drag/crossdressing as a kid. I had internet access, but rarely used it, and the school I went to was very sheltered and conservative, so I had little exposure to this kind of stuff. However, I did have plenty of those classic cartoon compilation DVDs. My favorite was always “What’s Opera, Doc?”. I didn’t know it at the time, but these cartoons helped me to discover I was queer a little bit later on. Anyways, whenever you upload, it instantly makes my day.
29:57 would have to be my favorite Bugs Bunny drag disguise it just feels like Bugs is channeling Rogue from x-men tas, Bunnie Rabbot from sonic satam and Ranamon from digimon frontier (English dub) despite none of these characters existing at the time of this cartoon (Backwoods Bunny, 1959)
Bugs Bunny crossdressing was always used for the sake of comedy. That’s why it’s always so funny. Same for any sort of crossdressing back in the old animated cartoon days.
"I'd like to see something nice in a pair of bedroom slippers." "Confidentially, so would I!" *nudge nudge wink wink* 😮😅😅😂😂 Damn, the jokes they got away with back then....
Bugs Bunny is known for his comedic ability to dress in various costumes, including drag, as part of his playful and mischievous personality. In many classic *Looney Tunes* cartoons, Bugs often uses drag as a disguise to outsmart his enemies, like Elmer Fudd or Yosemite Sam. His drag performances are always over-the-top and theatrical, playing with exaggerated femininity, often featuring wigs, dresses, and high heels. What makes these moments iconic is how effortlessly Bugs switches into these roles, blending humor with a sense of confidence and style, which adds to his charm and flexibility as a character. His drag isn't just about fooling his foes; it's also a showcase of his irreverent attitude and quick-thinking ability to adapt to any situation. Bugs Bunny, with his drag performances, is celebrated as a symbol of animated wit and creativity.
If there's anyone else who doesn't know what P-U actually means, it's short hand of "Pee-Ewe" (Im guessing the spelling😅) which is just a phrase to show disgust. Now that I think on it, it's not a phrase used too often nowadays
Didn’t realize how often Bugs transformed himself into a southern belle.
Bugs and Felix the Cat are my two favorites.
"If you think a rabbit with lipstick on its face isn't funny, you and I have nothing to say to each other."
"Do all you girls out there have to go through this??!"
Them: Welcome to the club 😑
Edit: I wonder how long you can handle yandere male or female
(Let’s see how Bugs can take it)

This is why Bugs is considered a queer icon, and I love it!
The same boomers trying to outlaw drag today probably grew up watching this with no problem…
Yeah, they're all under the sway of Republican dogma and it's sad
