- Hey guys, I'm back from my week off with a new remix for you! While I have forbidden myself to play the Specter Knight campaign until I've beaten Plague Knight's, that somehow didn't stop my brain from lodging this little ear-worm to the forefront of my mind the past few days. I Hope you guys will now suffer the same fate that I did and have the theme, "A Thousand Leagues Below," (also known as Treasure Knight's stage or Iron Whale) stuck in your head too ;) But as always, I hope you enjoy! Great remix for one of my all-time favorite games! Jake Kaufman did a really good job with the soundtrack, and I'm glad to see how you built off of it. (also noticed a bit of "Of Devious Machinations" in 2:20, and Legend of Zelda near 2:33)
Also, I read the description, hope you finish Plague of Shadows because Specter of Torment is super good: story and gameplay!

Actually that one particular song was composed by Manami Matsumae and not Kaufman. Agreed otherwise.

if i had to classify the gameplay of the tree campaigns i would say:
shovel of hope is the most retro one with his zelda II- and ducktale-like controlls and moves as well as high but relatively stiff jumps
plague if shadows is like a "we take a retro game and remake it more challenging" game because you play in (nearly) the same levels as with shovel knight but with totally different controlls and abilities, of which you have really many different ones (just because you can combine your bombs/potions out of a lot of different pieces whic leads you to a lot of different combinations. also you have 6(if i remember correctly) different super/bombjumps but still the same amount of "items", that shovel knight had.
specter of torment is the most modern one, just with its wall climbs, wall jumps, quickcuts (if thats what they're called in english, not sure) and sliding
its like a "we put a modern 3d J'nR in 2d surroundings" game, but very well made and very charming
just sad that it had no real overworld like the other to ones...
would have found it really awesome if i had a few villages or so
btw nobody complain ab spoilers, its nothing story related and all (kinda) seeable in the trailers!

ChelMaster 04 Yeah, definitely. Personally, Specter of Torment is my favorite, I love the fluid movement and especially the challenge of New Game +. Can't wait to see what they come up with next.

This remix really captures the grandness and feeling of depth from the original while also wrapping it up in a...sweet piss it sounds like the most awesome underwater rave of all time! This is probably one of my favorites remixes of yours.

short time ago i played through all the campaigns currently avaiable and i was really surprised what they made out of plage and specter knight according to the VERY less information you get about them in shovel of hope
now cant wait to see how the evolve king knights character
don't worry, they won't improve on his character. They'll keep him oblivious to everything, very flashy, and outright self absorbant in his own wants. I would personally want a campaign with a bit goofier and less serious story around it, and I feel King Knight is the perfect character for it.

Ah, Shovel Knight. The first game I picked up on the Nintendo Switch, and I LOVE this game. Definitely one of the best 2D platforms today (though I adore New Super Mario Bros. U/New Super Luigi U). Anyways, NoteBlock, if I may make a suggestion, I would like to suggest Mushroom City from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! It's my favorite song from that game, and I absolutely love it. Anyways, great work as always NoteBlock! :D

Ah yes, yes it is ;). I will say this, my favorite video game series has always been Mario (just because of how much enjoyment I get out of it), I've been trying out some other games as well recently. When I first saw this in 2014, I didn't take notice of it, but when Plague of Shadows was announced, I was interested. I didn't actually pick up the game until after the Nintendo Switch launched (I was going to get it on Wii U but there were too many other games I wanted to play), and I am hooked. Seriously, I love this game. It's probably one of my favorite indie titles (Other ones I love are Geometry Dash by RobTop Games and BTD by Ninja Kiwi) ;)

What's wrong with me? Everytime I see a Shovel Knight cover that's not a cover of the Destroyer, I'm immediately let down, even when it's one of my other favorites from the game's soundtrack, like with this one.
On another note, I like this. "A Thousand Leagues Below" is one of my top favorite pieces of music from Shovel Knight, along with "La Danse Macabre," "The Defender," Treasure Knight's boss theme, "Of Devious Mechanations," and, of course, "The Destroyer." I especially like the part that's actually "Of Devious Mechanations."
Also, just saying, you should totally remix "The Destroyer." That one deserves more attention than it gets.

When they announced the 2nd DLC I thought it would be treasure knight... It just felt more obvious than using the guy who can litterally fly.

Suffer? This song is brilliance. When i think suffer from a game song in my head i think either one that is just on the tip of my tounge (which for a while was the mario land 1 theme) or somethings short and repetitive like sarias song/song of storms. Also i noticed what i believe to be of devious machinations (please do a full remix of that) and the zelda 1 theme. As far as plague knight campaign goes, its not that much worth it. The penultimate boss (and kind of the final? )is cool, and the credits are ok, but really not that big of a deal. However Specter knight is AMAZING. Gameplay wise its very creative, fairly challenging, albeit with pretty easy boss fights (bar propellor knight. Propeller knight is HARD). Collecting all the red skulls has a fun little reward that's worth it imo so get those. Anyway the music is usually around par with the original (although ODM isn't as good in this one). And the story is PHENOMENAL. The ending to this actually got me, even though you already know whats coming. Specter of torments a masterpiece, go straight to that. Anyway I got caught up in myself, great remix.
