Losing Zac Alley is not what I was wanting, but it is not the end of the world. The success he had this year on defense is due, in large part, to Coach Venables rebuilding of a non-existent defense. What is most disappointing about the season, for me, is the incessant crying of Sooners fans, and podcasters. "He needs to be FIRED!," "He's not developing his players!," "This player sucks!," "We are the new Nebraska!" This seems to be all I heard this year. Stay positive my friend. We have a new OC, a new QB and hopefully injuries will not decimate the rest of the offense next year. We have the talent on defense in house. Whomever becomes the new DC, does not come in with an empty cupboard. No need to be chicken little here, the sky is not falling. Boomer
Name one player that Zac Alley recruited? Almost all the defensive players came to play for BV. We will see if anyone leaves in the coming days but I believe most will be still committed to the Sooners!
I would not give much credit to Alley for our defense this year - BV still makes all the calls and obviously had a “strong hand” in driving the defense, which is probably why Alley left. He wanted to run the 3-3-5 (ISU) defense and I believe BV told him that is not going to happen.
"I think coming back next season, we're going to have a great opportunity to be successful, be a top defense in the country, and hopefully we got some young guys who can come along to help us do that." That isn’t exactly saying he’s sticking around, but it definitely makes it sound like he’ll be back.
In the video you said he said "I think I'm coming back next season." 7:23 He never said those words. He was talking about the team coming back next season. He never even denied the rumor. Just said those things happen.
you guys kill me with this. he took a job that a year in he didn't want anymore for a reason or reasons and he had other options. you'd do the same and probably have at sometime in your life.
Everything you said towards the end of this video sums up exactly how I’m feeling. But passion and desire doesn’t always equate to success!!!

Alley never said he was staying, you need to listen to the interview.

@@JBWVGabe Ikard said he told the players he was coming back.
OU will go the way of recent Nebraska teams…Mediocre and barely getting 6 wins to be bowl eligible 😮😢
You may be right… but you may be crazy.
100% this program is completely dead
You play to win 🙃 no participation trophies in college football 😊

You’re wrong. He left because there was more money on the table for a bigger job.
