@EABOY2600 the old dogmen called them Bulldogs. We still call them Bulldogs and Hounds till this day. The American Staffordshire terrier became their own breed in 1930's. You can't breed a American pit bull terrier and American Staffordshire terrier together and call it a American pit bull terrier. That's not how it works. Am staff are Am Staff. They will not out work the American pit bull terrier. My Am staff were Goff/Watchdog and my American pit bull terrier were Tants Yellow and Yellow John on the bottom
@EABOY2600 Am staff are 60lb to 88 lb dogs. American pit bull terrier are 30- 65 lb. Am staff started out as American pit bull terrier under the Akc. In the 1930's Am staff became its own breed

@@chloebartz4110 that’s actually false , it’s not a bully without a pedigree, it takes generations to form a breed , 2 dogs being bred do not make up a whole breed , plus it took more than those 2 dogs to create the bully there’s been a lot of selective breeding, the dog is simply a bully mix and there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s kinda like if I bred a certain spaniel and a Newfoundland that doesn’t make it a purebred golden retriever

Jennifer Bogacki they get bad reps because people use them for dog fighting and don’t teach them any good manners. German shepherds are looked at as vicious as well and my German shepherd is as cuddly as a golden retriever.

Whitney Terry A lot of bull breed dogs have a ton of ear issues so cropping them is actually beneficial for the dog. Especially working dogs that do training because their ears can blister and get caught on stuff
@@sunleo6161 get caught on what kinda stuff? And if training is blistering their ears I'd suggest a different kind of training. It's cruelty either way you look at it. Ask ANY reputable vet.
@@sunleo6161 The bully breeds I can tell you that actually has a ton of ear issue would be the english and french bull dogs due to their smooshed in faces. It has much less to do with their actual floppy ears and more to do with how their ear canals fit in a truncated skull. And English bulldogs are just a pile of yeasty skin and bacteria begging for an ear infection. Most "pitbull" breed dogs do not actually get chronic ear infections that would justify ear cropping.

Whether or not you fall for their lies about breeding I don’t really care. Just the pure looks of the dogs shows that they would not do well at all on this show. They weight too much and don’t have the training or the smarts to do a competition like this. They would be better at a beauty pageant.

Probably because these people tend to use dogs as show dogs so it's considered "pretty". Some may argue it helps prevent ear infections but I'm not sold on it.

Plague Doc it does, and if it’s a working dog it helps prevent tears, even if it didn’t...it doesn’t matter because it’s not invasive, and when done properly doesn’t cost pain.

This is a beautiful dog, but I don’t respect an owner who has intact dogs and accidental litters. This is why so many pit bull mixes get killed in shelters...too many mutts that get bought from irresponsible “backyard” breeders and later get abused or abandoned.
