Heroes who have to do the job all by themselves. Why are those people standing around after he gets above the deck of the bridge? They need to reach out and get him and the truck driver to safety. Maybe the perspective is messed up and he is too far away, but they are still just standing around. What are they doing, shooting videos?

I was at the children’s hospital downtown for my wife’s last ultrasound and we were headed toward this bridge when a wall of cops blocked the bridge and had to turn around. Crazy stuff. So glad the lady is okay🤞❤️ huge thank you to the man who saved her life. TRUE HERO

You cried, I was shaking I could not even eat my fish fry. I don’t wanna see no person die he was trying to make a living for his family. We all make mistakes in life, but this would’ve gave me a heart attack if I was in that truck.
The unsung hero of the day is the fifth wheel on that truck 🙌🏽
I think it was the rear axles that saved the day.

@@plusblood5101 fifth wheel is just a term used by truckers use for the mechanism that connects to a trailer. So the fifth wheel has jaws that lock around the kingpin of a trailer and that’s how it stays connected during transit and doesn’t detach

I was thinking the same thing. It looks like maybe the rear axle might be hung up on the catwalk too. Either way... both are doing something they weren't designed to do.

Absolutely nothing for a kingpin to hold the tractor. Keep in mind they pull and hold trailers that are 80'0000 lbs when full to the max!

That risky fire department rescuer is more than courageous he is special. The truck driver had an Angel on her shoulder ..she is blessed that truck could have fell into the river ..it is a miracle that it caught on the bridge.

I can't imagine all the prayers that were being said during this awful situation and I'm sure she was praying hard too! A big "hat's off" to all the Emergency Responders here!!
Yeah some people just like to waste time doing irrelevant and useless rituals so they can pretend they're doing something useful, helpful or effective when they're not really doing anything. I spent the time rubbing my rabbits foot while saying the alphabet song over and over. I'm sure I was the one who saved that guy because what I did was far more proactive, decisive and effective than any prayers because they were saved just after I started doing this.

It pulls around a fifty thousand pound load, the tractor only weighs 14-15 thousand tops.
Hello, the pin connector also is jammed closed. With all the pressure holding it I’m sure that helped keep the truck dangle

Holy King Pin , Lucky they are so strong . They are only 3 inch in diameter and 5 inch long and thats all that is holding that truck to the trailer .

I am a truck driver and I need everyone to understand something…the truck is attached and held on solely by a latch that is holding a king pin approximately the size of a fist or smaller. This is AMAZING to say the least that the latch didn’t release. That woman had an angel keeping her. Once I really looked at the scene pictures all I could do is cry. I know she was terrified!!!!

Nothing to do with the weight in the trailer, but the connection between the trailer and cab. that kind or strain on it isn't normal and it's a miracle it held. Beyond that, there's no way that the center of gravity on the trailer is on the road side of the rail. Not tilted at that angle. It seems it got wedged in the beams of the bridge and that's the only thing that save the truck from going over.

Tractor weighs 12,000, driver should be fired, 35moh and failed to maintain control, crossing 2 lanes of traffic and a pedestrian walkway and the pickup hit her left side, normally you would go right, not left.
@@brianhoppenrath8379 If you read other articles about this, the driver said that when she was hit, the steering gave out and she lost control. She was taught you keep straight. The person who hit her was charged, as he was driving with a suspended license and other drivers said he was weaving in and out of cars before he hit her. He's at fault.

What’s amazing is the trailer held up the weight of the entire unit keeping it from going into the river. Thank god they were able to rescue the driver and everyone is safe now because of the actions of the rescue fire department team.

The firefighter and woman who were rescued were praying to God during the rescue. You wouldn't be here if it wasn't for God. If He's not real, then stop blaming Him when things go wrong for you. You can't have it both ways.

It'll hold a loaded trailer up in the air too, they are extremely strong. When a trailer flips over, it takes the truck with it instead of breaking free.

The fact that nobody called a wrecker or two as anchors is criminal!
They probably anchored the truck to the ladder truck or engine. There probably wasn't time to wait for a wrecker.
The fire department more than likely anchored the truck to the bridge, and the ladder truck. Tow trucks aren’t allowed to run emergency. So who knows how long it would have taken for one to show up.
