I'd use dreadhorde arcanist for when you run out of room in your hand or lose feather and your spells go to the grave. That way you can still get value out of them 1 more time.

Mizzium tank from war of the sparks is a great include in the deck Powerss like effect where you cast a noncreature spell it gets plus one plus one and becomes a artifact creature so you don't have to crew it anymore and if casting 4 or 5 he's getting + 5 + 5 and has trample
It's maybe worth mentioning that, if you have a lot of mana to spare (say, table wheeling after a Smothering Tithe) that Akroan Conscriptor, a cantrip, and Path lets you threaten a creature, then turn it into a land. Alternatively, Cloudshift lets you steal that creature permanently.
especially if you want to go the storm route that he included artifact ramp and paradox might be very good although you need to make sure to have enough colored mana artifact ramp ofcourse but with how cheap most of the spells are it shouldn't be to hard
A fun interaction worth noting is zada plus righteous glory. It only targets zada then anthems the team, repeat for every creature. Adds up super quick
Excellent video as always, but when i was searching in the heroic's rules, i find this : "Heroic abilities won't trigger when a copy of a spell is created on the stack or when a spell's targets are changed to include a creature with a heroic ability." Because heroic need the spell to be cast on the creature, and the spell copied by zada or the mirrorwing dragon isn't cast, maybe taking too many heroic isn't that great, no ? I was asking myself because i want to build a feather deck and i am not convince by the heroic cards.
Zada and Mirrorwing are the reason I want to build this deck but I feel like Precursor Golem is too specialized to include. Thank you for directing me to Prowess triggers though. I've never had a deck that used them so they basically don't exist to me.
Some other great cards for Feather: Seize the Day (for extra combats, and it targets so it recurs), Rally the Righteous (Feather works well with Radiance, and this works well with Seize to untap your other creatures), Bathe in Light (Radiance again), Heaven's Gate and Dwarven Song (super old cards that turn any number of target creatures mono-White for one W or mono-Red for one R respectively, works great with Bathe in Light or any other "protection from color of your choice" cards to make things essentially unblockable), Primal Amulet (can flip super fast thanks to you already casting 1-2 mana cantrips on everyone's turn), Electrodominance (cast on your own tokens to give pretty much anything in your hand flash), Fall of the Hammer / Soul's Fire / Tail Slash (for instant-speed one-sided fight-like removal), Valor Made Real (along with indes combat tricks to let you block any number of creatures) And most spicy tech of all: *Fiery Gambit* (no matter how many flips you do, it still always targets a creature, so it always comes back to your hand)
I'd add Orim's Thunder for some pin point removal, and long as you redirect damage to a token you control, you get to return that card to your hand later.
Brash taunter, Stuffy doll, coalhauler swine, spitemare, mogg maniac, exetera. Indestructible equipment. Large damage to creatures and double damage enchantments. Deal damage tonyour own creatures repeatedly to kill opponents while they can't attack you safely or take out your creatures bevause or repeatable protection cantrips. You are protected. Just built this deck, and it's very good, deadly AF. Almost acts like a control deck. 👌
0:46 Nope the card will not go straight back to your hand but in the end step. Meaning you can't buff your creatures x amount of time before the damage is dealt but only once. It is a weaker form of for buyback.
how do you feel about Launch the Fleet with Feather? Strength of arms might be fun for those equipment based feather decks. Primal Amulet can save mana on instants, doesn't have to be transformed, and if someone tries to destroy it you can just transform it to a land right then. i love your path to exile on your own tokens strat.
I went with the heroic creatures + some spells that target your creatures but don't kill them. not sure what your average CMC is, but mine is just above 2.0 so its really low, which is my land count is really low. I need to test it to see if I need to put more lands in. I only have 31. the reason I don't have mirror wing dragon in the deck is that it can pump up our opponent's creatures too. if they have a huge army can cast titantc growth on the dragon, it gets +4/+4, but so does every creature in their army. Zada only affects your creatures, so I have that one in my deck.
Puffin Entertainment - One Handed Gaming, the thing about that is that most people don't play combat tricks in edh. They also don't get to bounce it back to their hand like it does with feather. Also, with this deck it's possible to use something like shelter to negate their spell. There are enough tricks in this deck to overcome a lot of instances that you're talking about. The fringe cases of an opponent winning the game off of your mirrorwing isn't worth not including it in a go wide strategy build of this deck.
Add isochron scepter imprinting boros charm makes you stuff unpopable and other cards imprinted on isochron scepter to fun stuff. Runechanter pike. All instant/sorceries hitting grave powers up your creature (when you have no max hand size or etc.)
I was hyped initially with Feather, but then I started noticing similar things to what you mentioned at the start. I see Feather having a similar problem to Depala. She is card advantage in Boros, but the deck doesn't really seem to have much of an end game. (Although the advent of Parhelion 2 has changed my tune on that some). I'll wait and see just how good Feather is. If she is, then I might replace Firesong and Sunspeaker with her. I need to be convinced.
Vincent Werts . You need to play a clear win-con. Here is a discussion about this problem on Reddit. reddit.com/r/EDH/comments/bgm3vs/so_how_you_are_planning_on_winning_with_feather/
I think the main problem is that people are so hyped to finally be able to draw tons of cards in Boros that they go crazy with those cantrips and forget about bombs. Bandage or Defiant Strike are NEVER worth running in an EDH deck (though Expedite, Guided Strike and Shelter are quite good). I've brewed a control-ish deck which makes good use of Feather's ability, but also runs some bombs that can win the game. Didn't test it yet though.
Feather doesn't need bombs you just play the same offensive buffs on evasion creatures and smash their face. The ability makes meh cards fantastic. How is huge power unblockable creatures not a wincondition?
As boros has been my favorite guild since original Ravnica I see this as more than a Feather-deck! It is finally an option to play some of mye favorite "Bad-cards" without sitting every turn topdecking and heaving no options. Here I actually ditch the Guttersnipe, Thermo Alchemists and the like for cards like "Razia, Boros Archangel" and "Agrus Kos". My deck is fun, and I love beeing able to run some of these cards, while still sticking to must haves like Kor carthographer, sword of the animist, anax and cymede and the like. :) I build from what I have, and as mye favorite card since 2004 happens to be Sunforger(I own a lot of them) this deck is perfect. Is it just me or is this one of the decks(together with Animar) that Sol Ring is not a really good card. Coloured mana is so important if the commander has all colours in the casting cost I think. Cheers!
I recently build a Feather Deck, I'm still building it tbh. And i tell you Rally the Righteous (10:10) is just bad. Very expensive for just a little attack bonus unless you go wide. That being said, it's fine in a going wide strategy, but in a voltron build like mine it's just the worst //Sunforger 9 Dollar wtf? In Europe you get it for a few cents
Always keep at least 2 protection spells castable when you pass turn, preferably 1 indestructible and 1 protection from the color of your choice. I need to focus my Feather deck. I'm split between all 3 styles Also I have several heroic creatures that only benefit themselves which is kind of a waste. I think I'm going to commit more to the Voltron angle, but keep enough go wide stuff to help protect my life total, but I gotta cut Goblin Slide. Goblin Slide looks nice, but having to pay mana for each for gobbo is more taxing than it sounds, it often prevents another spell or 2 from being cast.
Bath In Light seems like an obvious inclusion in this sort of deck and I don't see it in the list or when you go over protection spells, but I know you've considered how crazy radiance mechanics spells are with Feather as board wide effects you can use over and over. I'd compare it directly to Shelter in terms of if it's playable: it doesn't cantrip, sure, but it will protect most or all of your board from the color of your choice each cast instead of just Feather, which I have to believe it going to be extremely clutch in many situations. Given you have enough cantrips generally so as to have 1 or 2 in your hand most games by turn 3-4, it seems prudent to have some reusable spells that are more about a really strong reusable effect instead of just more card draw. After all, after a certain point you will want to have better things to do than just cast cheap cantrips to draw more cards because you will have a full grip of cards you want to cast for their effects rather than just to draw cards with spare mana.
Hey Jumbo, I know Commander is your thing, but you should really try Oathbreaker! It's pretty similar to Commander but it gives a different sort of feeling. I really enjoy it as a change of pace!
Some guys in my playgroup are getting interested in the format, any suggestions as far as ramp and deck building guidelines? I expect it to be both similar yet different than commander itself.
@@ethanwiggen3567 Hey, sorry for not replying immediately. It's pretty similar to commander, but games are generally faster. Cheap mana costs and better mana curves are more important in Oathbreaker than they are in casual commander. Keep that in mind.
Dillon Teeko ehh I would say equal. My friend has a pretty competitive Zada deck that can win on turn 5 but he needs the hand for it. But ive played 11 games with my Feather deck and kill 2-3 players in one turn with commander damage when they have no commander damage on them is very easy, so also explosive.
@@hiddenleaf414 will you share your decklist please. Im honestly struggling on which direction to take my feather deck. I currently focua on combo wincon but its weak against creature based opponents
aris in wonderland I actually havent played Feather in a long time, I rarely even play my 2 color decks anymore. But some cards to help against combat based decks that I recall are: Ghostly Prison, Silent Arbiter, Palace Guard, Brave the Sands (So Feather has Vigilance), Stuffy Doll, Favored Hoplite, Soul Snare. These are off the top of my head.
If we're going to be running Ajani's Influence in this deck then we may as well run Sarkhan's Dragonfire since it practically does the same thing for one extra mana, except it deals 3 damage to Feather instead of adding +1/+1 counters which isn't a problem thanks to her 4 toughness.
Balduvian rage and psychotic fury used to be literally pennies, now they're $5 and $3 respectively. Good grief... Also, strongarm monk is pretty huge in this deck if you're going wide.
Thankfully I managed to nab a Sunforger before the spike in price for 81 cents. I was pretty happy to get that before the price jumped. There is no way the price will hold. There were assholes around where I live trying to "invest" in Sunforgers and bought all of them in the local shops. I hope they all lose money on that.
Terrain Generator's main weakness is that, if you want to use it on an opponent's turn, it leaves much less mana open to cantrip on their turn, which is the core of the deck. Late game a Terrain Generator can ramp with excess mana, but by that time ramp is less valuable. Personally I'd suggest a creature that ramps on EtB or LtB, like Kor Cartographer, Solemn Simulacrum, or Boreas Charger. This gets you a land and a body in play, which can be targeted with your other cantrips. Alternatively, Pathing a token each turn (with something like Young Pyromancer or Monastery Mentor in play) can also ramp a ton, but that's also pretty mana intensive. Hope this helps :)
Downhill Charge isn't that good outside mono red; you might want to give Fists of the Anvil a try instead. And Test of Faith is far superior to Scars of the Veteran imho.
Thermo deals one addicional damage everyturn. And if you lose your commander and didnt cast anything, he still pings. Wich is usually more likely than being able to attack for 2
@@hiddenleaf414 So you are playing Feather, You have Mirror wing, they cast Vindicate, unless you have Cloudshift in your hand, all of your creatures are now exiled.
Dakota McIntire The deck is designed around replaying 1-2 mana instants that get you more value. In my 11 games with Feather there was never a time I would want to lose my hand. The decks average cmc is between 2-3 so the extra mana isnt that big from Tithe.
@@koblfricker278 You really don't need everything to have a cantrip effect, unless you have some effects to increase your maximum hand size. There aren't a lot of things that are put in to take advantage of a bigger hand size/more cards to discard.
@@TheMrGazoline Niv Reborn Is another food chain tazri. U almost never should cast it by the time you win unless you run out of gas. It's not slow, it's a turn 2-4 win commander. Its top tier of all commanders out there and consistent.

This Commander made me so much money from my folder full of sunforgers
Where is the primal amulet?
Some other great cards for Feather:
Seize the Day (for extra combats, and it targets so it recurs), Rally the Righteous (Feather works well with Radiance, and this works well with Seize to untap your other creatures), Bathe in Light (Radiance again), Heaven's Gate and Dwarven Song (super old cards that turn any number of target creatures mono-White for one W or mono-Red for one R respectively, works great with Bathe in Light or any other "protection from color of your choice" cards to make things essentially unblockable), Primal Amulet (can flip super fast thanks to you already casting 1-2 mana cantrips on everyone's turn), Electrodominance (cast on your own tokens to give pretty much anything in your hand flash), Fall of the Hammer / Soul's Fire / Tail Slash (for instant-speed one-sided fight-like removal), Valor Made Real (along with indes combat tricks to let you block any number of creatures)
And most spicy tech of all: *Fiery Gambit* (no matter how many flips you do, it still always targets a creature, so it always comes back to your hand)
I'd add Orim's Thunder for some pin point removal, and long as you redirect damage to a token you control, you get to return that card to your hand later.
I think Sun Forger is a $10 card easy.
You forgot that Balefire Liege's ability can target Planeswalkers as well, making it even better.
Launch the fleet is great if you go with the heroic route
Cheers!
I also can’t wait to be the guy at my lgs who path to exiles tokens for ramp. Oh man this guna be an epic deck
Won my first feather game last night. She’s nutty
I recently build a Feather Deck, I'm still building it tbh. And i tell you Rally the Righteous (10:10) is just bad. Very expensive for just a little attack bonus unless you go wide. That being said, it's fine in a going wide strategy, but in a voltron build like mine it's just the worst
//Sunforger 9 Dollar wtf? In Europe you get it for a few cents
You should start making commander gameplays :) (2)
Just go watch him shit the bed on his Game Knights appearance.
What about snowlands and scrying sheets?
New playersl here. How would you upgrade it now with warspark out, Modern Horizons out and M20 coming up.
Hey Jumbo, I know Commander is your thing, but you should really try Oathbreaker! It's pretty similar to Commander but it gives a different sort of feeling. I really enjoy it as a change of pace!
I'm doing some testing. I'll make a video and we will see how people like hearing about new stuff.
Stuff doll with burn spells :D
& Boros Reckoner
I want this to be good. Definitely less explosive than Zada, but might be more consistent and draw less hate
Seismic Shift from Dominaria, repeatable land destruction. B)
Integer Devourer orim's thunder, repeatable disenchant. the 1 red mana instant from ixalan block, repeatable flameslash
I thought you said on yesterday’s stream you WEREN’T doing feather? How can I keep trusting you?
If we're going to be running Ajani's Influence in this deck then we may as well run Sarkhan's Dragonfire since it practically does the same thing for one extra mana, except it deals 3 damage to Feather instead of adding +1/+1 counters which isn't a problem thanks to her 4 toughness.
I'd love to see a Ilharg Deck!
What shenanigans can be done with a recurring radiate??!?!
is death ward worth considering?
does Slaughter the strong works with feather? if it's the case it would be great
sadly no since it says choose not target creatures, but Fell the Mighty works
mana rocks+ unwinding clock?
Would you ever put Terrain Generator in this deck or do you think it's too slow?
MH1 Aria of Flame is also pretty good!
Downhill Charge could be a good way to make Feather deadly. I also like Scar of the Veteran to help protect your creatures
Downhill Charge isn't that good outside mono red; you might want to give Fists of the Anvil a try instead. And Test of Faith is far superior to Scars of the Veteran imho.
@@hoppeltrottel7484 I like the alternative casting options for Downhill and Scars
Here come the price spikes
How is the archer worse than the alchemist? She can attack and also triggers on artifacts and enchantments.
Thermo deals one addicional damage everyturn. And if you lose your commander and didnt cast anything, he still pings. Wich is usually more likely than being able to attack for 2
I'm going to build this deck since I already have a zada deck so it will be easier to make
Can you storm off with feather?
Kind of want to make a deck that utilizes Pyromancer’s goggles with Feather.
Primal Amulet is easier to use in a Boros deck and also cheaper to come by.
this is a little weird but do you know how much this deck costs in 2023?
Fiery Gambit.
Just for the fun of it.
Man, I just wish Feather was an Uncommon, I’d love to play him as my general in pauper edh given most of the cards in his strategy would be commons.
Heueheu pauper commander with uncommon as commander HMM SOUND COOL
Balduvian rage you just cast for R and 0 for X and target opponents attack creatures and you still get the card draw.
Gotta target your own creatures
@@TheGamblingisgood that's right! Whoops
Edit Read Mirrorwing wrong. Thought it said creatures you control not creatures they control my fault.
Jon Calvert so then all your creatures die too?
If they aren’t black.
@@hiddenleaf414 yeah, also things like vindicate. Hit your whole board, so you can only play the dragon with a card like cloud shift in your hand.
Jon Calvert Im confused. Are you saying you’re playing against Mirrorwing or playing it on your side.
@@hiddenleaf414 So you are playing Feather, You have Mirror wing, they cast Vindicate, unless you have Cloudshift in your hand, all of your creatures are now exiled.
Mirrorwing will copy your doomblade targeting your creatures right?
I believe that the best version of this deck is Storm based, with ignite Memories.
i nust made a feather deck today and put in a red 2cmc instant that gives +7/+7 :)
Nice belch.
Smothering tithe and Teferi's Puzzle Box in this deck XD
Dakota McIntire The deck is designed around replaying 1-2 mana instants that get you more value. In my 11 games with Feather there was never a time I would want to lose my hand.
The decks average cmc is between 2-3 so the extra mana isnt that big from Tithe.
just cast the spells you want to keep in response to the puzzle box trigger
Really don't know why people are hyping Psychotic Fury when Temur Battle Rage is infinitely better and hits your Zada if you're playing that line.
Also Wojek Siren.
They don't give you card advantage. So they tend to be overlooked unfortunately, but understandably so.
@@koblfricker278 You really don't need everything to have a cantrip effect, unless you have some effects to increase your maximum hand size. There aren't a lot of things that are put in to take advantage of a bigger hand size/more cards to discard.
Im gonna be that guy:
"Why not both?"
Stuffy Doll, that is all. :)
Don't forget boros reckoner
I'd buy it just because it was drawn by wayne reynolds
Idk why people arent jumping all over niv mizzet reborn or ilharg!! Everybody on the Feather train.
Those cards seem cool, but they cost more mana. I'm worried they are too slow.
@@TheMrGazoline Niv Reborn Is another food chain tazri. U almost never should cast it by the time you win unless you run out of gas. It's not slow, it's a turn 2-4 win commander. Its top tier of all commanders out there and consistent.
@@ryanlinkous8651 oh yeah, but what about Ilharg?
Jumbo, give us a kefnet deck teck!!
Well that's great... Now i want to build multiple Feather decks. At least most these cards are cheap anyway so my kidney is safe for now.
But where is paradox Engine?
It is paradox Engine good in this deck
I don't like that you identified Feather weaknesses but offered no ways of building her differently. The rest of the video is what we have seen everywhere.
