Today's question of the day: Is Germany the best bet to beat the U.S. at the Olympics?

    • @aw3s0me12
      @aw3s0me12 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

By all due respect, Olympics are not the *World championship.* Olympic winner is "just" the Olympic winner but not *Worldchampion.*
That is smt, some in the US do not undertstand. You can not turn smt into smt thats not just to feel better or idk.
To Franz, the groundwork into "basics" general in the EU is waaay deeper as in the NBA and it shows more and more.
Back to Jordan's time,..all the OG's did have it, oh boy they DID !!
Today, they lack elementals in basic basketball. One of the key reasons why EU players have it (dun want so say "much" here but well) much more easy to be successful outperforming US peers. While Talent in the US may be more to find, i will & no one can denie AT ALL, the basics missing & with that coming error in gameplay coming in, gives a head up to players grinding on a day to day basic the elements of basketball as "it should be".
Kobe also said it,..yeeeeeeeeeeeeears ago. The NBA did change nothing but deepen the problems.
BUT all that, today, made the plays now waaay more interesting.
The US team is no more feared by anyone. There is no more "save win".
      > Any Team (inc. US ofc) can lose & win. Everyone knows EACH know their sh!t & playing confident.
Germanys biggest trade, *in lit. ALL teamsports,* not the best highest Talent,...it is a *massive* build in the "fight for the Team, crew & the nation they represent".
      > Never underestimate a german team, even with the back to the wall,..THEN they tend to turn the switch inside them "overpowering" to overcome what hinders their success & not to fail. In Football you see this all the time in german football teams. Esp. in importent games.
      > The biggest strenght is the *Team.* not 1 single or 2 ones. ALL. And if 1 is weak, 2 cover his weakness to hold him up AND the colective as a Team. *The Manschaft* is for a reason a Term. Bc of those reasons.
      > This german Basketball team, Manschaft, has not only Teamspirit, they get a lot of Talent to. Which makes them a threat to everyone. Even at their weak moments, they can pull things up such as disciplin.
The US team is not as good either right now. Hands down.
Lebron's last Olympics we can say before Retirement.
Who can replace him? None & honestly Lebron is NEVER as good as O'neil was, which was a UNSTOBABLE force. No one could guard him. Lebron IS guardable, nto always but it is possible. Which makes already a hard difference.
As Kobe said, 2015, EU players are thought the game right, while in the US they do not teach how to post anymore. Basics missing. The soft ruling of the NBA, with lit. low physical gameplay (Jordan's time was REAL physical) the EU teams play today is simple smt the NBA made huge mistakes. Made the players soft. All the free room to make shotings which a EU team would not offer. And back in time, also was not possible in Jordan's time. Remember the hard leaning in Backwards to other players bc they pushed them also in the other direction "away" from the curb?! Todays NBA you dun see this anymore, plenty of room to shot, 2 meters away from persons standing shoting what happend?!
Today every single Team CAN win. But i will tell ya, the NBA is losing reputation since some time and for valid reasons. The NBA has to fix their errors and start beeing again playing the full game. Not only for "More shotings, more entertainment equal more watchtime equal more cash generated" back to the basics. The time is ticking and noone waits but trys to leave you behind.
Right now i see a huge vaccum generating in the US related to youth which lacks those elements.
Next Olympics, the US will not stand as "good" as it seems in this one, able to "still" compete.
A EU-All-Stars Team would stomp a US-All-Stars Team, *right now.* Period, straight facts.
      > Knowing this,... the NBA needs to fix this issue at their youth training ASAP! For the love of the game.
      Cheers and enjoy EACH game!!

@@EbizzerHH Every single Team/Nation can *today.* And this is the best part of it, for people like us loving to watch basketball matches. There is no more "save" win at this stage. BUT it isn't the Worldcup either. Olympic winner is not Worldchampion in title. For that, you have to earn it by winning it.
      That train passed already ;)

All teams from the "death group" are eliminated, unbelievable. Was sure Germany will face Canada. Germany never reached the semis at Olympia before, it's already a great tournament for us.

to the people who think Franz should't play...nobody in his right mind would ask a Athlete not to compete at the Olympics ...that's an experience unobtainable for most athletes on this planet an worth more than any gym time...wich he is getting also obviously

I think it first started with Detlef Schrempf and continued with Dirk Nowitzki, who made basketball even bigger in Germany.

    • @LockedOnMagic
      @LockedOnMagic  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Yep, that is who I tried to reference when I said Dirk was the second generation of Germany basketball. I don't think Germany is going anywhere for the near future.

I don't think anyone can beat the USA. Team is too deep. As for Franz he's finally getting his name out there and it's great. Most basketball fans have never even watched him play because the Magic aren't popular. It's why there was so many dumb comments about his max.

  • @alexmagic8934

In Italy people were very sad that Paolo Banchero decided against Italy. If he had chosen Italy, he could have become that in Italy. What Dirk Nowitzki is for Germany. He could have made basketball bigger in Italy.

I like to say germany changed there game, after the start Obst fell out of the rotation and was often replaced by Bonga ... This was helping to shut down the inside focus from greeece with size, and greece did a good job on covering Obst who is our best outside shooter. But they never gave up.

I've been magic fan all 35 years. What I see the brass doing is big point guard. 6/8
Black penny t-mack .Fronze or Polo . remember turkalue .
Jordan played point also magic for the most we have and won't to be tall see the court better Fronze would be great and Black needs time on the court and a little mean focus.

@@LockedOnMagic Basketball is very far behind soccer over here, but it is growing in popularity over the Last couple years. Espacially with the European Championship, that took place in Germany two years ago, and of course winning the Worldcup last year. And a lot of germans that got into Basketball the Last couple of years are supporting the Magic because of the Wagner brothers
