These machines are awesome
I just stumbled across this and know nothing about tuck/tractor pulling and I have 3 questions.
- How heavy is the sled?
- If more than 1 person reaches the end is the winner the person who does it quickest?
- These things are obviously ridiculously expensive to build and maintain, is the prize money any good?
10k is in the box of the sled. It’s whomever goes the farthest distance. And none of us are out here doing it for the money. Although this particular pull is like our “Super Bowl” and it is one of the better paying events.

@@PrettyWicked If its all about distance wouldnt a lower wheel speed be better? seems like a lot of energy is wasted on wheel spin. ive seen videos of old steam traction engines pulling these sleds pretty easily.
