    What a rejuvenating experience it must be for Anderson to find himself with musicians who play Yes like Yes in its heyday. Even the Fish, from up above, must take pleasure in the fact that a Rickenbacker and his unforgettable scores have fallen into the hands of Castellano.

    I can't put in to words how privileged I feel having had Jon there for my whole life, being a constant inspiration. No right to still be getting performances this good but I'm so grateful - Please make it to the UK at least once more please. I know it's got to end at some point but right now, seeing Jon enjoying himself so much is just the greatest thing and he deserves it so much.

    I hope they tour again. I'm a life-long Yes fan at 64 seeing them with Wakeman and Moraz. This is as close as it gets to core Yes, vocally as Jon is still in form and instrumentally not lacking with this amazing backing band. Excellent in every way. They all are 100% invested and it shows.

    O my glob! Jon still sounds so wonderful!! At 78 1/2 years old his voice is still at 97% as strong and pure as it was 50 years ago.
    I just about started to cry when he really got going and put his heart into it.
    Andy is doing a fantastic job covering Steve Howe's parts! As a longtime guitarist, I can attest that Steve is one of the greatest ever and his parts are not usually easy to play.
    Ritchie is doing well playing Chris' parts, but I don't like the lead guitarist solo he plays at the start.
    Chris could play solos here & there but he never sounded like he was just a lead guitarist with a bass in his hands.

    If it were just the The Band Geeks, this would "only" be a superlative cover/tribute, but with Jon Anderson it is better again - elevated to an "astral plane" perhaps. The musicianship is absolutely first class. I've seen a (TH-cam) live version of this done by ABHW and even Bill Bruford (a brilliant drummer) doesn't entirely replicate his own drum parts! The drummer here really does a great job. I can listen over and over to the first 4 or 5 minutes - one of the great prog music passages of all time for me and done to perfection here.

  • @dominiczito7567

    • @SparyZWanTuhNayHo
      @SparyZWanTuhNayHo ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I don't know. Chris Squire played bass like a lead instrument. If this was Mike and the Mechanics then yeah, sit in the pocket and groove. I like Richie's let it rip attitude, especially on Heart of the Sunrise. That's not a subtle song.

    • @davidsmall8911
      @davidsmall8911 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Chris played bass like a low frequency lead guitar, melding the bass’ as part of the rhythm section with a musical lead that makes Yes music rather unique. I think Ritchie’s doing a great job, filling Chris’s big shoes while making the music his own.

    • @Magnetron33
      @Magnetron33 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      When Ritchie is improvising he should do whatever he feels. Artistic license is fine. Squire loved to improvise and just like Ritchie he was REALLY GOOD at it!
