I wish I could go back and live in that era again. Being a kid in the late 70s and 80s was a great time to be a kid. My brother had the same bike with the banana seat
That was my generation. Wow we had it good and didn't realize it. Everytime i watch a movie like this with my grandkids, they cant believe things were actually that way. When they did believe me, they all wish they grew up then.
My dad bought a custom cruiser loaded all the kids in the neighborhood up and we went camping. Same car. The 80s were fun! A great time to be a kid. :)
this is a masterpiece. ive seen this movie probably twenty times after a strange much older cousin gave me a vhs tape he'd made from the tv. my brothers and i laughed at such a weird present and watched the movie as a joke. over and over. but this movie has aged like fine wine. not a frame is out of place.
This film is a documentary; life exactly as it was back then, for me in Radnor, Pennsylvania; Arrowhead Daycamp, Newtown Square, Wayne, Bryn Mawr, Ardmore ❤ everything is in a 5 mile or so radius.
I grew up in the San Fernando valley and was the same age at this time. I had that same exact motorcycle shirt and that Rams helmet. We did the same things with the dummy on Ventura blvd. 😂 We lived life full as kids. Think ‘Lord of the Flies’We ruled the streets and learned to overcome what life threw at us, not dwell and identify with the ego and emotions. Parents were teachers, not friends.
The Doug character also played Mike in Phantasm, one of my favorite horror movies which hit theaters when I was around the same age. Phantasm had almost no plot, but was creepy good and made a killing at the box office. Directed by the same guy. Cool.
@@murienrouge I don’t know 🤷🏻♂️ about that. I think 💭 they can played like 👍 that it come down to parents. It not healthy being on phone 📱 or computer 🖥️ or tablets all day. I played sports 🏒🥅🏀⚽️ when I was younger and I am still young now and won gold medal. 🥇😎✌🏻
I lived in the Valley in '76 and this is like time travel for me! Perfect snapshot of a moment in time.

I believe you. I was there too. We weren't allowed in the house during daylight. Bb gun wars, riding bikes and building forts in the woods.
@redgreen8159 yep.
Born in 1970 this movie lines up perfect with my life.
Even filmed in Southern California, The Big hill with the go-cart is Long Beach CA
Such memories, I was that age at that time, such an easy going time to be alive, the 70s ruled!
I wonder how today's kids will remember 2020 and 2030 in 2060?

Always going out cranking people but just having fun and dropping in whenever, wish I had more years like that
Good Movie. Never seen or heard of it before. Glad the algorithm came thru with this hidden gem
I didn't bully, and I've never been bullied.
What do you NOT see in this movie?
No cell phones! I miss REAL LIFE😕

Eating school lunch, outside. Wow, I remember doing that, back then.
That big ol' station wagon, crammed full of kids. We would never get away with that, anymore. Legally.
I think more than a few cops would let you go.

That is why he looks familiar ... love that movie. BOY!
Fun movie. Brings back great memories of a better time. Thanks for posting this !🙂
It's crazy, I remember having clothes much like what these boys have, wa a ay back then.
Old friends and old wine and old classic movies are the best (better than new ones).
I grew up in the early 2000s and had a very sheltered but relatively boring childhood. I wish i could've had as much freedom as these kids.
Thank you!
53 minutes in the clay projects is hilarious. So is Paco.
My time. And my best friend's name was Kenny.
This was when kids were kids 👍👍
This was directed by Don Coscarelli, the guy who directed Beastmaster and the Phantasm franchise.
Five of the actors in this also starred in Phantasm, Michael Baldwin, Kenneth V Jones, Terrie Kalbus, and Reggie Bannister.
Barbers must have been starving back then.
They need make movies 🍿 like 👍 this again nowadays. 😎✌🏻
Kids can't play like this nowdays. Absolutely impossible.

That blond kid's eyes are almost on the sides of his head. I thought he was a ginger, but maybe it's not gingivitis after all.
Urn were they keep human ashes
It was a great time and we did have made, too bad we didn’t realize it 🥲
