    Just bought one for 90 bucks. It had keyboard issues. Cleaning the contacts took me 10 hours. But now it works like a charm!

    This is my first synth I've still got it but it definitely needs some looking into.
    I've always got a soft spot for it.

      perche non hai avuto problemi di colla rossa altrimenti il d 70 lo lanciavi dal balcone 😂

    Quasi non la ricordavo... La D70... Se non sbaglio uscita dopo la D50 e prima del JD800 (giusto?). Era bella... Ma mi sembra non ebbe un grosso successo, forse proprio perché uscita a cavallo di quei due synth mostruosi. Cmq grazie Alex, perché cmq questa tastiera fa parte della ns storia, suoni cmq avvolgenti che hanno fatto e fanno la storia. Sempre Synthcloud for President!

    Owned that one for some years. Played it live back then. The reason why I never returned to Roland ever again.

      keybed problems?

    • @KaffiFlight
      @KaffiFlight 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@synthcloud No. The first device did not respond to "save" at all after editing. The second one had another strange quirk (I do not remember what it was). I needed a new OS-chip back then (no flashing for users) and after that it worked ok. No keybed issues, but I did not like it. It felt so cheap. The instruments before were better built. I loved the keybeds on the digital/analogs before. Maybe this was the time Roland tried to save money with cheap components. And well... It had the unpleasant characteristic to "scream" quite annoying on high volumes on stage. The sound was not well balanced. Somehow "class" was missing. Maybe they pumped up the samples with too much high EQ, and in combination with low sampling depht it made some unpleasant sounds. This is a synth to impress with headphones in your livingroom, but not on stage. Meh. No, thanks.

      @synthcloud  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@KaffiFlight you're right, these instruments had an innate class, even the build quality was superior.
      Too bad, however, that this particular series has many problems with the keybed

      I am repairing my D70 (a new LCD backlight EL sheet and inverter), not feeling too much love for it. Thanks for reasons not to keep it. It will be happier in a Roland lover’s collection !

    Unfortunately they all break down. If it came as a D-770 rack module, that would be a bless. But the JV-80 came shortly after the D-70 and made mince meat of the D-70.

    A good synth but the worst keybed. Is always faulty, all the ribbon cables to stop working and they can't be replaced. Whenever a key is not working (that happens all the time) and you have to put the synth apart, those ribbon cables are placed in such a way that will scratch against the metal structure. When you put the synth back together... bunch of key are not working anymore. Trust me... I had FOUR D-70, all of them with the same problem to cannibalize to have just one working.
