    I sometimes find myself using clip in Inkscape, but do it slightly differently, I trace the photo with Brightness Cut-off and work from there. For the photo you've used, I'd probably invert it.
    Love your videos, my work has improved 10 fold since I started watching.
    Thanks.

    For a long time I used this technique because I didn't use Gimp, but I didn't know I could do it 4:18 and remove internal parts.
    Always learning new things. Thanks.

    But could you do a tutorial on how to make a simple, cartoony style logo for branding, ie music producer alias. But from a sketch, either sketched by hand and photo imported into gimp or inkscape, or electronic tablet sketch ideas?
    Would be awesome to see your process as I plan on doing this but have limited experience with graphic design
    Cheers and keep up the great content! 😁

    Do you have any tips for making the hair look more natural during background removal? I have a hard time taking out the background and still retaining the small strands of hair that make the photo appear natural. Is that a thing more suited to GIMP? I have not used GIMP much yet.

    I noticed you often change your document properties at the beginning of your videos. I learned a little trick to save your default document properties so it doesn't change back every time you make a new file.
    Open a new file in Inkscape (you may need to open Inkscape as Administrator on Windows) and change your Document Properties to the ones you prefer (units to px, don't show page border, etc).
    Once you change them go to File > Save As. Save it as "default.svg" in your Inkscape installation folder > share folder > templates folder > default.svg (C:\Program Files\Inkscape\share\templates\default.svg).
    Once saved, every time you open Inkscape it will retain your defaults.

      Right click then trace bitmap image already chosen in inkscape, select multiple scans to 0 and then choose colors from the drop down option, select the remove background command, then click on update then ok, then close. After just click and drag on the image to have the black lines image without color and the original one.

      On inkscape you must "install the font for all users" (windows user)

  • @joca1378
    @joca1378 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Say you have Corel or Illustrator. You import an image and you want to crop it. You can just go and resize it normally or covert the outline to curves and use nodes to do that in real time without changing or risizing the image.
    It's handy when you have several images that you want to join to create the final image. The image itself only "distorts" or changes size if you convert it to bitmap after importing it.
    In Inkscape, i'm starting to believe you always have to create some kind of mask of what you want, then apply it to the image or use tricks like "convert to pattern". That is not practical in any sense, unless you need to do it, and for me, it's enough to uninstall. Inkscape is kind of terrible in many ways.
