Wow great figures, you're great at making customs! Do you think you can make customs of the new elemental masters from The Tournament of Sources? Size, Reflex, Figment, Balance, Surface Tension, quake and etc?
Generally I use clay and insulation tape. Clay is just handy to make hair, any hats and stuff. Tape I often use to make clothes, 'cause I like that it stands out more instead of just being painted on. So any jackets, coats ( or in this case kinda a robe ) I like to make from plain simple insulation tape and then just paint it and the rest of the minifig.
Any custom hair I make from air drying clay. It softens in contact with water so you can mold and sculpt it and dries if you let it sit for a while. I usually keep mine drying the whole night.

What kind of material do you use for the hair. It is something that you can form and then becomes hard right?

Yes I will be doing jungle Nya. Like I said in a previous comment I will try to make all Ninja suits for Nya, up to Possession.
