Usher had a record contract from his teens. In the 90s, you had to be able to sing sing in R&B.I am a little surprised that a lot of people did not know how amazing a singer Usher is.

@@504yaj This is so true. And Usher has even called some of those artists out and told them that they kind of messed things up for real singers. When trends take over, realness ends up getting pushed to the back. But even he took part in it briefly with some of the EDM-type music he made. Folks weren't as really interested in that.

@504yaj He was still making music over the years, it was just the 90s and early 2000s was the era for his come up.
Usher came in and usher'd the tiny desk and reminded everyone. I think some of the bigger pop/dance songs make people forget that this guy is a perfectionist singer and the smoothest.
