    Please more on side by side gun shooting . Bought an o/u and I like it however, having hunted woods and small open fields I really like my side by sides but, never knew why. It's because I snap shoot at game. Tracking clays l can not hit a thing. Now I know why. Thank you. To be fair I have never had any formal clay shooting training either.

      @frechwieoskar8052 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Haha, me too. Had some proper training but cannot make the pictures with cross eyed dominance at the range. When hunting my brain stops obviously and real live snap shots work with very high hit percentages.

    Two weeks ago at the clays I had a go with a new Beretta SxS. Immediately I loaded the gun my shooting style changed to be much more relaxed. It just felt right. The next week I tried out an old Alex Martin. I never shot any worse than with my Browning. Last week I almost traded my 525 for an AyA XXV. But my head won over my heart and I stuck with a modern gun. Now this film comes along and my heart is saying “I told you to get the SxS”. Thanks Jonny

    Started hunting last year with an over and under and now switched to my dads side by side made by sabatti. I loved it shot my first woodcock with it and i just does the job so much better for me. I am actually going to buy one myself probably a side by side made by fabarm! Nice video as always!

    Nice video. I bought a SxS about six months ago and have used it on clay shoots. At first I could not his a barn door, but practice is changing that. I still struggle to get the targets I want to hit but am determined to carry on as I love the look and feel of my SxS. Brilliant channel keep up the good work!

    John, It was refreshing to see the misses at the 6 and or 7 minuter mark. We don't hit everything all the time as the web often portrays. I love your videos and cant get enough of the side by side. I am new to the sport and I go to your videos more than any other source. Thank you for all of the information and the highly professional production. I love being the informed person in the room when people call the three arrows on the Beretta a trident. Thanks for that one in particular.

    Cheers Jonny. That's ignited my confidence in my cheap, rubbish side by side. I actually took it to skeet in Bisley yesterday after watching this video. Totally impractical but felt good to get it out and fire a few with it

    Nice review John. The woodland setting, the positioning of the camera, you dressed appropriately, a classy looking SxS and the occasional “miss” made for a pleasant 8 min watch. Having spent all morning grappling with a Skeet layout in the wind and rain it cheered me up.

    I like the o/u I have and it means a lot to me. I could definitely do with some lessons as I don’t hit a huge amount when I do make it to the clay ground but there really is something about hitting a clay with a gun well over a hundred years old. Especially if the person before you has missed the stand with something made to measure

    Enjoyed this a lot. SxS are great fun to shoot in woodlands for the very reason that you go for your bird instinctively. Flights at dawn/dusk are another place to let the SxS work in your favour. It takes all sorts to make a world, thank goodness for differences!

    80 pct of the time wether i'm shooting my OUs or SxSs I look and mount to the front of the clay. Sometimes of fast outgoing targets I have to swing thru to get a feel for the pace of the clay.

    Side by sides are no use, everyone knows that. Thats why Lord Walsingham managed to kill nearly 1,100 grouse in one day with them. I have a two side by sides as my only shotguns, and its fun to burst the bubble of the guys who tog out with the latest blaser or beretta and all the gear, by matching or beating them with a 120 year old side by side. If a gun fits you, it doesn't matter which way around the barrels are.

      You make a point that I've commented on several times: Your old double is a joy for you to shoot because, as you state, the gun fits you well. That's mostly due to more drop at the comb and heel than is found in contemporary guns. Stocks are too straight these days.

  • @johnhodgson1735

    I'm a native English speaker..damn you talk fast..with whatever accent you have it makes it very difficult for some of us to follow you. I have to keep rolling vid back and replaying. And I've lived and/or worked down under, USA and UK. Perhaps a bit slower and the accent would make no difference.
