Now you need to put a few truck loads of sand instead of grass and a little fire pit. This is awesome! I have one in my back yard in North Dakota. No alcohol out there because I dont trust young people. Well, because I was a young person :-) Its so relaxing and fun and its Happy Hour all day every day unless its snowing. Winter lasts for 8 months in these parts so you need long all day happy hours in the good weather to make up for lost time. Nice job! Love the name! Cheers!
I'm in Toronto so I feel your pain with the long winters! It is great having a backyard oasis. It would be cool to have a bunch of sand as an artificial beach!
Wow what an amazing tiki bar well done!! I love the tv with the beach scene and waves and the surfers it really makes it all come together!!! I also love what you have done with the plants and bamboo around the pots and on the bar too it looks so cool! The paving stones are great reminds me of the side walks in hawaii, all the lighting at night looks great too!!! Ive been dreaming of having my own tiki bar one day so hopefuly it will be sooner than later!!!
We literally had the same idea when lockdowns were going on. We bought our first home with a screened in pool and hot tub in June 2020. The idea for the tiki vibe/ bar setup came soon after. We have not finished the bar yet. Ours will be on the pool cool deck. Good ideas here!
That's awesome! I'm sure your Tiki bar is going to turn out amazing! I was joking with my wife that I should put a hot tub right up beside the Tiki Bar and then we would have a swim up bar!
Hi I love the build. Was the back wall made with the thin fence board or the 2x6s like the the deck floor? I’d the thin board, is it strong enough to hold the shelving?
Is there a reason you put the roof grade to the front rather than the rear? It seems it will shed water toward your barstools and patrons rather than the rear this way.
I thought about putting the roof grade to the back, but I decided to go to the front mainly to show off the palm thatch on the roof. Do deal with water shedding, I made the lip of the roof go out over the barstool deck at actually keeps us all quite dry. We've been out there in heavy rains and it's worked out well! My main issue with rain has been it being driven in the sides by wind. I got some clear tarps made for the sides that I put up in the rain and at night.
Oh my freakin word .... !!! That is seriously AWESOME Dude !!! Totally Radical man ... !!! 👌😎🍹👌 I love beach bars and Tiki bars, and always wanted to build one of my own. But as usual, there is always something more important .... 😜 You have just inspired me to get off my tush and get it on. It really looks great. Enjoy it. P.S.: Aren't you afraid of one day stepping into an "empty" bar ... ? 😜
Thanks! I got inspired last spring by a random picture I saw on the Internet. It's really been a lot of fun for my family and neighbours as we deal with all the cycles of lockdown and closed then open then closed bars. It'll be nice to get back to normal eventually, but I think the Back Shack will be in action for a long time since the drinks are way cheaper! 😂
Great Decor
Love it, I could definitely enjoy drinks there!

Thanks! I used mostly Hawaiian, tropical and reggae music I got from Epidemicsound.com
The bar looks great. I have a question. on the lumber pole are they 6x6 or 4x6?
