Another great video, even though I've already been accepted at three houses signing up on your code. I'm going to redo my profile after watching this. I too am planning to be a year-round house sitter. I am currently on a month to month lease I believe I'm going to try it out for a month and then turn in my notice. I like that I can go anywhere in the country and still have a comfortable place to stay. I have friends all over the US so I think until this pandemic is completely gone I will state domestic.
Thank you for the great information and the 20% discount code. My wife and I signed up and are looking forward to putting together our profile this weekend!
1).Trusted House Sitters don't conduct nor pay for the Background Check? 2). What if you are an outdoor afternoon or evening occasional nicotine smoker as in balcony/terrace/porch? 3). Do these homes include food/sodas/water/snacks and use of their laundry machines? Thanks

Another interesting topic and helpful video, nicely done Tim & Amy. I certainly concur with your top 10 tips to creating a great house sitter profile, and another I suggest is to comment about which countries/regions you've traveled and sat in. I believe this can give some comfort to the home/pet owner that you are experienced at getting around and not afraid to travel and move out of your comfort zone. Another thing might be to slightly vary your profile for each sit to appeal to dog or cat owners, for example, you might say "we particularly love cats/small dogs/large breeds" etc. That can be a bit cumbersome if you're applying for lots of sits, so this information can just as easily be noted in your application letter. Actually, now thinking about this I really should go check our profile to see if I've done those things ;)
These are excellent suggestions, Sue!!! I like the idea of mentioning specifics in an application letter so I don’t have to tweak our profile so often.
Hey, thanks for the info. I had heard of Trustedhousesitters years ago, but I just retired last month (age 58 is still early retirement right?) . I have some commitements the rest of this year, but I am going to look into it for next year for sure. I will review some of your videos on the subject in the meantime. Thanks so much for leaving this info out there. I love to travel and am probably a certifiable "cat lady" even though I don't have any right now. I like all kinds of other animals too so petsitting would be great fun for me!
Hi Kathryn! Congratulations on your EARLY retirement!! 🍾🎉🎊🥳 If you’re thinking of house sitting, this video will be super helpful. It’s new! th-cam.com/video/dtmjFrkLo-s/w-d-xo.html
Your video was really informative. Please think twice about the loud bell sound you used for your bullet points in the future. It sort of hurt my ears.
I am a paid pet sitter/House sitter of 15 years and would like paying jobs out of my city, state and country. Do you know places like Trusted Housesitters that have these jobs?
TrustedHousesitters does not allow sitters to charge for house sitting services. I am not familiar with any paid sites that allow you to travel with house sitting while charging a fee. They may exist, but I haven't heard of them.
@@melodyebuskin5490 I don’t think that’s what we recommend in the video but either way, videos were removed from THS a while ago. You can ask friends to provide a written reference about your character, work ethic, cleanliness, etc. It’s all done through your THS profile.
i'm happy to watch another interesting clip from Tim& Amy.
❤️❤️❤️
The very first video I watched concerning housesitting and I learned a great deal. Thank you !
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry that didn't work for you. I don't know that we've used the bell in other videos so you should be safe.
What company do you recommend for background checks here in the US? Some charge a lot! Thanks.
TrustedHousesitters does the check through the system. It’s now required for US sitters.
What if you are a US Citizen living abroad?
We need someone for house sitting

What should the video references from friends contain? My friends are asking. Thanks.
This video is 3 years old and we’re at sea with poor Internet so I can’t rewatch the video. I don’t understand your question...sorry!
@@GoWithLess I’d heard that 3 friends should submit their video references that we should post on our application.
