Hi Mark, to answer your question, yes we bought our first caravan in July, purely because the cost of holiday home rentals shot through the roof because of covid and we wanted the freedom of going where and when we wanted to and in our own little family bubble. Yes, we probably paid more for our second hand caravan because they were in such high demand but we are currently on our first trip out at Love2stay and can honestly say, we've absolutely loved it. I never ever thought in a million years that I'd be towing a van, let alone behind my Audi A7 tdi but it is the best thing we've ever spent our money on. We are even planning what van we'll be buying next (not for a few years yet as we love our Swift Elegance 580). We are now in it for the long haul and look forward to many more happy trips in our van.
We bought a new Adria Altea Avon as our first caravan last month. We've already cancelled our Tenerife trip for October to go away in our van again. Done 2 trips already. Absolutely love it. Cavan holidays are for us, and here to stay.
Brought swift fairline end of August 2021 purchased on spur of the moment , Always fancied one and love it , can't wait for our planned trips this yr and will still do a couple of overseas hotel holidays , love the show Mark very informative, Colin Stourbridgeķ
I’m the opposite. I’ve just reached 60 and bought a 2013 Swift Conqueror but not because of COVID. I’m returning to caravanning after a 20 year gap as we now don’t have kids anymore. COVID is actually getting in the way of my return rather than making it happen. We are looking forward to returning to the road whatever the situation and as we know what we are getting into (in fact it’s much easier as the vans are SO much better equipped) then we confidently are looking forward to several years of use. Plus we are not working full time so we can go mid week easier.
Snap ! We have been away for 16 years due to the children growing up and are now returning so its very frustrating that prices are rocketing just when we decided to return ! Typical....however, no regrets and lifes too short. Enjoy
We didn’t buy a ‘Covid’ caravan as such but are relatively new having bought our fist caravan in 2020, just after the first lockdown. We had camped a few times but the tent gave up in some gusty winds in Yorkshire. Went to the caravan and camping show in February with the intent to re0lace the tent but started looking at caravans on display. We then started to look at used vans and found a Venus 570 which we bought. Since then we haven’t looked back and love caravan holidays and are just in the process of changing cars for something hopeful little more powerful for towing. If we hadn’t bought our van last year I doubt we would have been able to afford one this year! Anyway really enjoy your channel with some great content.
Having a caravan is the best thing we have ever done, you sleep on your own bed and bedding, go away at the drop of a hat, meet great people on sites, and visit some of the uk’s fantastic sites. Great channel👍🏻😃
We bought our first caravan due to corvid, which has switched how we spend our free holidaying time. We are going away more often and enjoying our time away. Used to go abroad once every year for a week. Now we are using our caravan every time we can. We are keeping to it for a long while. Exploring our beautiful country and we have already booked next years pitches. I have done all my research on TH-cam with the great community here.
Myself + Wife and 2 Children are in the process of looking at Caravans for next summer. Myself and our wife grew up with Caravan Holidays, and at present we've borrowed my dads small 4 berth a couple of times and loved it. Just need to sort out a suitable tow car and a reasonable size van.
I sincerely hope you and your business continue to thrive during and post the pandemic. Keep posting these videos, you are obviously passionate about caravans and caravanning. Keep up the good work!
I don't know how you have the patience for the general public, I hated when someone came in my place wanting to buy something, I mainly sold to the trade, iI have a few issues with Britain but after living in another country 6 years i wouldn't go abroad ever again, I've tried watching other caravan topic videos, you are a good presents Mark
Hi Mark, thanks so much for your videos, we love getting your thoughts as a caravan dealer. We are covid caravanners, got our Bailey Discovery D4-4 last Oct largely because of the changes presented by the pandemic, but also because we're thinking about Semi-retirement plans and how to spend this phase of our lives (we're 55 ish). Having caravanned in the driveway during lockdown through the winter and gone away several times in our so-called summer, we absolutely love it and won't be giving up, we're looking forwards to caravanning through the winter and are continuing with our annual 2 week holidays to Greece for the foreseeable, although getting more mindful about the environmental impact of the aircraft.
We got into Caravanning due to the crisis as we used to do weekends away in cottages etc etc and didn’t want to stay in rentals anymore. We bought a Swift Base Camp 2 in June 2021. Been out in it now 6 times and already have three holidays booked in 2022. Definitely won’t be selling it…. Should have got into it years ago albeit I never thought I’d be towing a caravan in my life time😂. That said, after months of looking for a 2020 Base Camp at the right price I was having serious second thoughts when I went to pick it up. It was a big purchase and our first van. It would have been a tragedy had I pulled out looking back on it now.
We are getting more caravans being offered to us, but prices are still as high as ever. Hopefully if we can get a good supply prices may come back down slightly but I dont see any big changes.
People do visit caravan and motorhome sites and generally get carried away with buying and handing over a deposit , for instance I remember my local dealer saying a young couple had put a deposit down on a van went home and worked out they couldn't afford it and asked for there deposit back Large dealer told them no
We purchased a 6 berth in March 2021, partly due to our children starting school this year. Covid probably prompted us to start a year early. Have been away on 9 trips this year. The family loved it, we will definitely be continuing.
We were looking pre covid, but then the prices went nuts and so we were priced out....... We hope that those who were buying because of Covid are going to sell and we can get back to some sensible pricing again
We bought a new Bailey Phoenix 644, we just spent 4 days in it. We love to travel abroad once a year. Next year we are heading to France with out caravan for 2 weeks, we have a aircon unit fitted
@@thecaravanplace Agree and the price of an aircon unit works out affordable when you look at the price 8f staying in Europe. My view is all caravans should have them. I have a question you maybe able to answer, do you need a power converter to use the power in Europe campsite for the electric in a caravan and if where do you buy them
@@jaffaholland4039 it should work, you may possibly need a euro hookup mains lead depending on what sites you go to. Then just always check the polarity light to make sure the wiring is the correct way around on site. Any of the bigger sites should be fine though.
I feel your pain buddy, also another gripe is when people book sites and haven't got a caravan yet, and then they don't turn-up wasting everyone's enjoyment, been Caravanning since 2009 and have noticed how out of touch people have got with camping, caravan sites are like housing estates now, with concrete every where, because sharon doesn't want to get wet feet when she walks to the shower block 😅😎
Yes this is a big issue, I can see why deposits should be taken to stop this, its not fair if people are booking up, then not turning up. Thanks for watching
We bought ours initially due to covid to have some family holidays. We normally go abroad but we now plan to stick with the caravan as we have really enjoyed it. We now plan to holiday abroad in February and have a seasonal pitch for the summer
We bought our first caravan in December 2019, always wanted one and how glad that we had when covid hit. Love caravaning however you don't really know much about it until you start caravanning. We discovered the layout of our caravan wasn't right for us so we just recently sold it and are looking at buying a new one but may wait and see if prices drop.
Sandra Westley we have been caravaning since we bought our first one 1978 and they have never dropped in price, we bought a new Bailey Porto with the new 8 ft wide, we took delivery in June 2021, and already the new ones coming out in September are nearly £4000 pounds more than what we paid in June. Unless you can get one in the sale next August, but you’ve lost most of next summer just waiting to see if you can find one and is it the lay out you want.
We bought a lunar Alaria as first timers / COVID caravaners. We are going to keep it until the end of next year at least .we’ve been away 6 times this year in different parts of the country .not sure it’s for us but at least we’re getting away
We brought our caravan in June 21 due to covid and not going abroad usually twice a year, after going away for 4 weekends and 2 ,4 night stays we have decided to upgrade from a 2012 Bailey Pegasus Milan to a 2018 Eldiss Ospery 860 due to the weight the Evoque autobiography was near the top towing weight so brought a VW Touareg to pull it pick the caravan up in 2 weeks so yes we will be staying in the uk for the next few years as we both love the chill out time we have in it.
Yes, we bought a caravan (second hand) recently, which has been on our to do list for a few years. We no longer want to go abroad much anyway, especially now, plus theres much of this country we haven't seen yet. We just want the little bit of freedom there is left. We would like to upgrade when I retire, so I suggest there is a big future for caravanning still.
Hi Mark great vlog mate ,I think when holidays abroad was cancelled some people thought let's buy a caravan instead .......Great idea !!! Until they relies they need the right caravan to suit the family which then needs the right car to tow it,then we're do we store it? ,how much to insure it ?does it need maintaining? So this great idea doesn't look so great unless you are taking this hobby seriously. ......so I think now things are settling down a little a lot will think jumping on a plane or cruise looks a lot simpler .....cheers Steve 👍
Hi Mark, You say that you are now starting to see more caravans being offered for sale but isn’t this always the case at this time of year? Summer holidays over, kids back at school and Autumn fast approaching. Doesn’t necessarily mean that they are giving up caravanning, May just be getting rid whilst prices are high before taking delivery of their new ‘van in the Spring. Just a thought. Enjoying your channel by the way!
Thanks for watching, yes we do tend to get more being sold this time of year in general to be fair. We seem to be getting a lot of people wanting to swap for Motorhomes 🙄
Caravanning is no longer a cheap holiday and it seems to me sites are exploiting people. For example we stayed at a very basic site with disgusting toilets 6 weeks ago and paid £15, emailed to book it again because we only use it as a stopover and they want £20 now, pure rip off. If sites continue to cash in an do this I feel this could cause the crash of van prices, anyway we are away to France and Spain for 8 weeks shortly where prices are still reasonable. Good rant though, think I would have been a bit more peed if than you though and charged them for the labour and work on the van.
Thanks Ian, yes the sites need to be sensible as it is making it more expensive and this will push people out of the market. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Bought my van in 2018 when prices were 'fairly' reasonable, campsite charges were 'fairly' reasonable, more to the point you could actually get in them without having to book a year in advance! The whole explosion and exploitation of the industry has just got on my nerves, so 3 weeks ago it was sold. Saving grace was getting 3k more than I paid and getting 3 years use from it.
You have a fair point and really well made. We bought our van in 2018 and haven't looked back. The thing is you can have the best of both worlds. I hope people aren't buying vans and thinking that they're tied to just that. Going to Florida next year but we'll spend more time in the van than we will abroad.
We bought our first caravan in October 2020 and sold it in July due to the fact it was too small for my family so we bought a bigger caravan not due to covid and loving it. Wish we did this lot earlier.
We have been saving to buy a family van for a few years as we are generally not "abroad" people anyway :D Unfortunately, the whole "Rona" situation and subsequent price rises now mean we are waiting to buy until things settle a little and I'm really glad we have as more vans are now becoming available within our limited budget! (It doesn't help that we are looking for a very specific layout which also seems to be the most popular one too - again, thanks to the situation and more families as opposed to couples wanting to buy!) Personally, I'm hoping the New Year is when we will be purchasing ready for lots of adventures from the Spring onwards :D Thank you for all the videos you do - they are really informative for those of us still in "research" mode ;) Xxx
3 different friends of ours bought last year for thr first time. None are looking to sell up yet, only just getting used to it all and after investing in tow bar, gas bottles etc, I think they will keep them for a bit yet.
Hi just watched your video regarding the covid situation and I want to say that I am a male nurse and have recently sold a pennine folding camper to purchase a Swift Challenger 2 berth caravan. Reason being YES covid as my wife and I can self isolate and shower in our own unit away from others and I don't want to compromise my work being staff & patients etc. We have always gone abroad once a year to Cyprus but again we are to worried at present to step foot onboard an aircraft and venture abroad and simply would not feel comfortable. We have always loved our camping as well as one trip abroad every year however we are absolutely over the moon with our van and will definitely NOT be selling her even if it becomes safe to travel abroad again. Having the caravan gives us freedom luxury & comfort and the option of using it as many times as we want during the year even in the colder months what with the blown air heating and the advantage of taking our dog with us. So to cut a long story short we WILL be keeping our van witch we love and maybe one day when safe go abroad once a year. Thanks for the video the Buccanner is a stunner but I would have a frenzy towing it LOL !! Stay safe Kind Regards Tim & Serena from Lincolnshire.
Thanks for your comments, I think a good amount of people will feel the same for a few years still about getting on a plane, we still aren't 100% safe even with double vacations. Thanks again 👍
We bought our 3rd van in July, a bailey pegasus grande messina. Great layout but reluctantly paid the inflated price. However, I do feel that new caravan prices have not increased as much as 2nd hand?? My trade in was a 2013 swift which was sold by the dealer immediately £3000 less than what I paid for it new 7 years ago🙄
Some dealers hadnt caught up with the pricing I dont think and were reluctant to give the trie value unfortunately, sounds like they had no problem asking for the full value when selling though, bit naughty really. Thanks for commenting 👍
We got our 1st caravan this year, ungraded from our tent. We love it and have no intention of going abroad even when things calm down with COVID. Our children love our trips/adventures away. We almost didn’t get one due to the high demand in the market. We had paid deposits and got other people offering more even after we agreed a sale, this happened to us 3 times but we finally found a decent buyer and a fantastic caravan which we love.
Seen no end of new cars towing 15 to 20 year old vans in North Wales getting away, good on them but I reckon they will be selling them on in the near future and going abroad again hopefully!!
I have been a caravanner for 30+ years and I'm watching this video as I type, from a DA meeting at Bedale in Wensleydale. My personal feeling is that SOME of those who bought caravans will have enjoyed the experience and the lifestyle (not only for lengthy summer holidays like the 27 days or so we had in Northumberland in July/August but also for weekend getaways and 5 night meets at other times in the year). But others will no doubt go back to foreign holidays "for the weather" etc. Of course it is possible to do both (as several of my Caravanning friends do). The interesting thing will be the PROPORTION of new vanners who stick with it. Only a guess, but it wouldn't surprise me if 50% of new vanners still have their vans and use them in 3 years. But that will still leave bargains available second- hand for those sticking with the hobby. Right .... Time for the full Yorkshire breakfast!
Decided not to go abroad for a while at the end of 2019 and with having my 3rd damp van out owning 5 vans decided to go for a swift elegance (no wood in the construction) got a good deal in February 2020 and then covid started and prices start to go up so I was lucky....PS when are you doing a review of the Bessacarr.
Hi Marc another great blog could you give me some advice we currently own a swift alpine 4sr. I would like to. get a van with an island bed my vehicle is a Davis duster 15sci towing capacity 1500kg with the85% rule this brings it down to 1275 would you advise going any heavier.
Hi Kevin, have you checked your mass in service weight against the 1500kg? And is the 1500kg max braked trailer weight? If your car mass is service is around 1700kg then you can potentially go closer to the 1500kg caravan weight, but if your mass in service is 1500kg and you max braked trailer weight is 1500kg then you could get around it by keeping all the heavy equipment in the car and having just the very very basic bits in the caravan to keep the caravan weight lower and close the the caravan MRO weight. You will find the mass in service and braked trailer weight on your v5. Hope this helps.
I bought my first caravan October 2020 so yes a Covid purchase, I always go abroad however I am absolutely loving making weekend memories. I won’t giving up my Borealis 🧜🏼♀️
To be honest I'm looking for to buy a caravan so trying to understand and learn all the issues but its put me really down because of the covid price getting higher. I have to be so sure and have confidence to buy because I need to bring caravan to in Cyprus . What will be your advice to me ? Thank you in advance.
I think prices will come down next year but not a great deal as a lot of people like myself are waiting to purchase when they do so , therefore the demand will still be there.
Demand still seems very high at the moment, which we have been unsure how it would go afyer the school holidays, but its still very strong on sales at present.
I blame the caravan sites, they have raised their prices to the point it’s not worth it, my caravan has never left storage this year I refuse to give them what they want.
Hi We ordered a new caravan 6 weeks ago for possibly a delivery date jan/February 22 fingers crossed.. Dealer has no idea !!! Understanding especially in this crazy manufacturing nightmare “parts” We did caravaning up till 4 years ago.. So really excited about returning back. Though we do believe that come next year there will be a turn around in caravan-Motorhome-camping as planes start flying again.. Unfortunately we are expecting a drop in prices BUT sites will become not sooo fully booked.. friends of ours that have caravan’d for decades said that this year as been a bit awful as normal as sooo many of there favourite sites they just couldn’t get on. Great for our tourism industry fantastic. Though some have got a little expensive so when u say cheaper than a holiday abroad I would question this.
Yes sometimes not so cheap. I have been amazed at how many people are still saying they are buying more for next year now. At least with the new caravan it is what it is and you know the price is correct. Hope you get your new caravan on time and have great holidays 👍
We bought our caravan in Jan of 2021. It was bought to holiday in this country and take it over sea. I can work anywhere there is an internet connection, my wife has frequent holidays being a teacher, so it can get used every school holiday, also my parents borrow it when we are not using it, so we gets as very high use. Covid has probably speeded up the purchase, given travel restrictions and my wife not being able to fly at the moment. However, when things return to normal, we will be going aboard again but, we wont be selling the caravan. For us, we will be doing both, I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive. I also think the prices of second hand tents will drop, before the prices of caravans do. I’m also hoping prices do drop in the next 12 months, the reason being, we have a 10 year old caravan, a 15% drop in the price of a new caravan, is more than the 15% drop on our 10 year old one. So it makes the upgrade route cheaper for us.
You do need to shop around for the sites, but thats difficult when they are full so yes its not so cheap then. Hopefully everything settles down and prices get better.
Presumably when this happens as it is breach of contract deposit is lost. Mark doesn’t say whether it was straight deal or part exchange. What is a typical deposit on a non part exchange deal nowadays as I have not done straight deals for many years. Really like your information and style Mark.
Thanks Derek, yes after 14 days the deposit is lost as it was taken over the telephone. We normally ask for £1000 deposit, which we will refund less any costs. Even though we have been messed about I will still try and be fair to the customer. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Hi Mark, great video, I feel your pain with regards to someone waiting 3 hours after they are meant to pick up before letting you know. Why on earth could they have not let you know days/weeks ago, the way things are going I'm sure it could have been sold several times over. We are just starting Spring here (NZ) and caravan prices continue to rocket. From New prices all the way through to 30 year old vans. Different market here though as most Kiwis camp, reckon the money they saved last year has encouraged them out of their tents and into caravans, allows more year round camping :)
I bet prices have gone even more crazy with the import costs and caravan costs gone up. Its funny how its the same situation around the world with increased demand, we sometimes forget we are all in the same situation. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
The caravan market has most definitely reached saturation point. A few weeks ago the caravan that I was interested in, was hard to find either new or second hand, Looking at the situation today there are several of them for sale . I believe that more caravans will become available on the second hand market when the new owners realise its not the cheap holiday that they thought it was going to be, Especially when the over winter storage fees have to be paid. Its my belief there will be a price drop in second vans and later on, a drop in new prices as the demand eases off, How much will prices drop who knows.
If you look at dealer forcourts they are nearly all empty, no new till late next year. Autotrader caravans advertised are still at the lowest numbers for many years. We are seeing more caravans being offered, but also getting far more enquiries than caravans for sale. I hope more caravans become available so we can supply the demand. Thanks for your comments 👍
Hi Mark. Looking forward to collecting our van on the 18th. Towbar being fitted Friday. I can understand your frustration especially when you're so busy. Keep smiling Mark and keep up the great videos.
You may find that Caravaner's of many years giving up the hobby instead of the Newbies for a while. Due to pressure on Caravan purchase prices, site bookings, cost and storage. In my opinion Industry greed with supply and demand will burst the Bubble, people will get sick to the teeth of being fleeced. For example, take a look at the Puppy Market during lockdown the price of Dog Puppies went through the roof, check prices now they are back to pre covid prices in only 6 months, prices have halved for normal breeds. Lets make no mistake owning a Caravan is a lot of work, cleaning, maintenance, cost, towing, setting up, divorce awning in a bag set up, ext ext, many will go back abroad for easy comfortable holidays in the sun.
We are finding a lot of people selling at the moment, but all seem to be to purchase another caravan next year and take advantage of higher prices now incase prices drop next year. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
I like your videos and watch them all. I understand it must have been frustrating to have this person back out and hopefully you had the deposit to compensate in some way. The only issue I have is making this a public rant. As a professional caravan salesman you should probably have kept the rant for your mates over a pint as it would certainly now make me think twice about buying from you. I think twice in one year isn't bad going either. Still looking forward to more videos though.
Thanks for your comments Chris. It took me a week of "do I or don't I" post the video, but in the end I think I had too, I think if I am to be genuine and honest, I have to give my thoughts on different situations good and bad, but also put across our side of things. Its a very hard call to make as to what to video and not video but to be true and honest I think I have to show when we are a little upset about something. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Sandra Westley I think these people who go back on there word, are shameful, and those that don’t turn up for pitches they have booked and cannot be bothered to cancel there booking should be shamed, on TH-cam or face book, it’s a total disgrace that they cannot make the call to cancel, it means other people who could have gone, are unable to, and the people that run the sites are out of pocket with no payments. We had that experience of no shows, we were staying on a site and had to move pitches because the pitch we were on had been booked by a gentleman requesting that pitch, so packed everything up moved to another pitch, only to come closing time he never showed up or called to cancel
I think lots of people fell into the trap that caravan holidays are cheap and cheerful well they are and will be again but what they dont see is the maintaining of the van and the cost of storage and the general up keep like tyres for the van cleaning the van security for the van and storage and winter. And for some the varnish is rubbing of for me i have done the abroad stuff and i had a motorhome and now i have caravan Eldis Avante Rambeler cracking van so i am not new to it and i know both sides of caravaning. So some people will throw in the towell and others will think cheap holiday now lets get rid and the others who just got the van to flip them quick and make some cash from it when things seatle down we will have gains in new vaners and we will loose some but just think of it this way why not take the caravan to France easy done these days so you still get the holiday abraod just with better accomidation your van
Camp sites are getting so greedy with their prices its cheaper to go abroad . now that covid is over van prices will drop. you can buy a luxury car for the price of a van, dealers want too much thinking they can take advantage of the market, there is virtually no wild camping in the u.k. now. I have been caravaning for more than 40 years on and off, I used to have 6 months in Spain and 6 months in the u.k. V.A T most certainly does not help sell new vans. last of all the quality of new van builds is far below expectations for the money, all that glitters is not gold if you know what i mean.. would i like a new van of course i would but my 23 year old van is of far better construction than what is being put out now for exorbitant prices. I could go on but i think thats enough for now. oh I forgot to mention the rip off prices for replacement parts which none of these caravan dealers ever mention.
Visited a dealer the other week to get some sundries, all caravans on the forecort were sold, most of them £35K and upwards...with posters about orders being accepted for 2023!, is there no end to this stupidty. I used to travel globaly with my job and appreciated our UK caravaning for peace and relaxation, I would see airport bars full of benidormers getting sloshed at 6am and think at least they wont be pitched next to me, that was wishful thinking back then, maybe the covid chavaners will eventually be priced out and will all clear of back to benidorm. There is going to be a lot of unserviced, wrecked caravans with plenty of outstanding finance on the market over the coming years...
as much as i get that your asking the question about whether were coming to the end of the staycation boom as people that have never caravand before start to realise theres more to this than just living the youtube dream😏 it does also sound more like your having a rant😂
I almost called it my little rant🤣, We haven't seen this all year, and it then made me think, is that it? is this what is now to come for the next 6 months? Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Keep the mans deposit, your time is worth it, folk cocking need to know there’s consequences, especially 3 hours after the agreed collection time, if he was flying with Ryanair and didn’t turn up for the flight he would be getting no money back. End of!
the caravan should be already to go at anytime anyway. so it needed to be serviced ? it should of been done before put on sale. anything it needed should be put right before going on sale too.... as for cleaning , again it should of been cleaned before this bloke even saw it. the outside being clean > well if you sell cars you have to keep them clean on the foirecourt, same with caravans so you have not been put out, you should have the vans ready to go anyway........ when i go out and look at a caravan to buy i take money with me and want to be towing it home straight away. no ifs no butts, it should be ready to go.
Fantastic, I'm glad you are loving it. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
We bought a new Adria Altea Avon as our first caravan last month. We've already cancelled our Tenerife trip for October to go away in our van again. Done 2 trips already. Absolutely love it. Cavan holidays are for us, and here to stay.
It seems more people will be staying in the uk next year than going abroad. Thanks for your comments 👍
Brought swift fairline end of August 2021 purchased on spur of the moment , Always fancied one and love it , can't wait for our planned trips this yr and will still do a couple of overseas hotel holidays , love the show Mark very informative, Colin Stourbridgeķ
We go abroad when possible but there is still another 50 weeks to use the van
Best of both and I think this will be the way forward for probably 70% of people.
Thanks for your comments and great to hear you are returning to caravanning 👍
Thanks, you bought just at the right time and missed the madness. 👍
Having a caravan is the best thing we have ever done, you sleep on your own bed and bedding, go away at the drop of a hat, meet great people on sites, and visit some of the uk’s fantastic sites. Great channel👍🏻😃
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
We bought our first caravan due to corvid, which has switched how we spend our free holidaying time. We are going away more often and enjoying our time away. Used to go abroad once every year for a week. Now we are using our caravan every time we can. We are keeping to it for a long while. Exploring our beautiful country and we have already booked next years pitches. I have done all my research on TH-cam with the great community here.
Great to hear. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Thank you for your kind words. 👍
Fantastic to hear thank you for watching and commenting, the D4 is a cracking caravan.
I’m hoping the secondhand market crashes and I can buy my first caravan. I’ve always been a camper but this year I was looking to change.
Great to hear. Thanks
We were looking pre covid, but then the prices went nuts and so we were priced out....... We hope that those who were buying because of Covid are going to sell and we can get back to some sensible pricing again
I think a lot of people are doing the same. Thanks for commenting 👍
We bought a new Bailey Phoenix 644, we just spent 4 days in it. We love to travel abroad once a year. Next year we are heading to France with out caravan for 2 weeks, we have a aircon unit fitted
I think this will be what a lot of people possibly look at for next year, the sites abroad are fantastic and usually great prices.
That's why I like CLs
We bought ours initially due to covid to have some family holidays. We normally go abroad but we now plan to stick with the caravan as we have really enjoyed it. We now plan to holiday abroad in February and have a seasonal pitch for the summer
This seems to be the most are looking to do it going forward. Thanks for your comments 👍
A lot of people seem to be doing the same and lots looking to go for Motorhomes too for some reason.
We have met loads of people who have bought vans this year due to covid and love it, all who we have spoken to say they will carry on touring
Still not had a comment yet from anyone saying they are not going to continue caravanning. 👍
We bought a lunar Alaria as first timers / COVID caravaners. We are going to keep it until the end of next year at least .we’ve been away 6 times this year in different parts of the country .not sure it’s for us but at least we’re getting away
Thanks for your comments, I hope you enjoy your caravan and keep it. Thanks
We are hearing far more similar to you, I think next year will be another busy year but more upgrades. Glad to hear your comments 👍
Great to hear, we have so much on our doorstep that we wouldn't normally see. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Thanks For watching and commenting 👍
Was the perspect glass door, on the glass cupboard a refit or genuine?
Genuine item. 👍
If you join the caravan and motor home club they have standards to stand by Plus there cl sights are very reasonably priced.
Interesting video as always. I think theres going to be a bit of slow down on sales. Your Union Jack 🇬🇧 in your office is upside down by the way 😃
Thanks Wayne👍 I think U must be looking at it upside down lol.
I agree why not have the best of both.
We bought our first caravan in October 2020 and sold it in July due to the fact it was too small for my family so we bought a bigger caravan not due to covid and loving it. Wish we did this lot earlier.
Thanks for commenting, glad you are enjoying your caravan 👍
Thanks for your comments and I hope prices do come down and you get what you are after. Thanks 👍
3 different friends of ours bought last year for thr first time. None are looking to sell up yet, only just getting used to it all and after investing in tow bar, gas bottles etc, I think they will keep them for a bit yet.
Thank you for your comments, much appreciated 👍
True caravanner here!!! Don't fly!!
Fantastic and not very nice if someone has agreed to sell and then doesnt. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Like everything else it will happen but when is anybody's guess
Seen no end of new cars towing 15 to 20 year old vans in North Wales getting away, good on them but I reckon they will be selling them on in the near future and going abroad again hopefully!!
Thanks for your comments 👍
Thank for watching and commenting 👍. Why did you have to mention breakfast, I feel very hungry now.
We brought a vigo 2018 and love it .NOT going abroad again.
Hi Peter, thanks for commenting nice van the elegance, hopefully very soon I will do the bessacarr video 👍
Hi Marc thank you for the quick reply, my mass in set ice weight is 1795kg, 1500kg braked trailer, so I assume I could tow nearer 1500kg? Thanks again
I bought my first caravan October 2020 so yes a Covid purchase, I always go abroad however I am absolutely loving making weekend memories. I won’t giving up my Borealis 🧜🏼♀️
Great to hear Thanks 👍
To be honest I'm looking for to buy a caravan so trying to understand and learn all the issues but its put me really down because of the covid price getting higher. I have to be so sure and have confidence to buy because I need to bring caravan to in Cyprus . What will be your advice to me ?
Thank you in advance.
Im not 100% sure on taking to Cyprus, but definitely make sure you get a good caravan as you don't want to be bringing it back.
The prices have gone through the roof. Thanks
Hi
We ordered a new caravan 6 weeks ago for possibly a delivery date jan/February 22 fingers crossed..
Dealer has no idea !!!
Understanding especially in this crazy manufacturing nightmare “parts”
We did caravaning up till 4 years ago..
@@thecaravanplace
Can’t wait
A grassy field with just a electric hookup, and if lucky a toilet with a tin roof. 🥰
I think personally people will be selling due to travelling abroad opening back up. I think people will sell after the season this year
Will have to wait and see what happens. Thanks for commenting 👍
Great comment and spot on. Thanks👍
but its not a cheaper alternative with some of the gouging prices being charged by greedy site owners
You do need to shop around for the sites, but thats difficult when they are full so yes its not so cheap then. Hopefully everything settles down and prices get better.
Definitely has a ranty sound to me.
Yep rant time lol.
The way camp sites are still busy I can’t see the bubble bursting yet. Covid isn’t over so we don’t now if foreign holidays will be ok next year.
Thanks for your comments 👍
That wine cabinet is correct 👍🏻, very glad they got rid of it for 2019
Yes, it just looks a badly thought idea.
Hi Mark. Looking forward to collecting our van on the 18th. Towbar being fitted Friday. I can understand your frustration especially when you're so busy. Keep smiling Mark and keep up the great videos.
Thanks for commenting and still watching 👍 we will have everything ready for then. Thanks again.
I feel your anger Rob 👍
I hope you kept the deposit. Lol
So annoying when people do that. I hope you kept his deposit
Thanks for watching Terry 👍
@@thecaravanplace I agree, the deposit should be lost for the time you spent on it.
I think people taking the caravans abroad will boom over the coming years, perfect answer if you want guaranteed weather.
Prices are just about to go up more too unfortunately, with wages, energy, import costs etc it isn't goung to get any better anytime soon.
End of!
Very true 👍
the caravan should be already to go at anytime anyway. so it needed to be serviced ? it should of been done before put on sale. anything it needed should be put right before going on sale too.... as for cleaning , again it should of been cleaned before this bloke even saw it. the outside being clean > well if you sell cars you have to keep them clean on the foirecourt, same with caravans so you have not been put out, you should have the vans ready to go anyway........ when i go out and look at a caravan to buy i take money with me and want to be towing it home straight away. no ifs no butts, it should be ready to go.
I reckon it’s gunna crash
